Jedi and their membership badges. It was a notion so ludicrous that he couldn't help but chuckle. He'd seen the ID of
Starlin Rand
too back on Alderaan; just the fact that Matt brought it up himself fully silenced the remaining doubts he had.
"Nah, you're good," he assured him with a shake of his head, that amusement still present. "Truth be told, I guess I don't know what you guys are even really capable of."
Moving wires, apparently. Matt took him up on his suggestion, and after a short while the electrical circuit was completed once more. Though he had done none of the leg work, Eliphas could not help but feel rather satisfied at seeing the plan work. He beamed a smile at the Jedi. "Neat!"
The ticking noise was a little unnerving. He couldn't help but fret over the existence of some sort of explosive device on the other side. A concern to voice when they got to the point of opening the vault, he decided, for now they still had to figure out the mechanism.
His companion seemed to have the right idea about it soon enough, though. One wheel was turned in totality. He observed the similarities between it and the side without, then turned that too. Now all that stood between them was the vault door.
"I didn't say it at first, because I wasn't even sure we'd get that far," he stated, throwing a cautious glance toward the vault, "But are we sure the wiring didn't start some sort of countdown?" A slight pause, as he let that sink in. As if concerned that Matt couldn't hear the noise too, he quickly added to his statements. "You know, on account of that quiet ticking coming from inside..."
Did he want to open the vault door?
Yes... He would have loved to do the honours. But that one issue played at his mind and kept him from doing so. He wasn't quite ready to lose an arm to a potential blast.
