Alright well this isn't for a discussion of who is in charge this is what kind of leadership we want to have. The vote is public so one vote per writer please and if there is an idea please say it.

I think it would be fun to collaboratively design an NPC Grandmaster to head the Order. Saves us from having to pick new leaders periodically or because of inactivity/LOA also, which lets us focus on RP.
I'd personally love to see a Luke Skywalker archetype; though sex and species are totally flexible.

I prefer the idea of NPC leadership because it avoids having a single writer we have to rely on for anything administrative. (Can I do this, can I do that? etc) We'll have faction staff still anyways to handle anything we really need.
I mean we'll be needing the input of the writer base anyways when it comes to making decisions about certain things OOC, and because of that, any IC leadership is more or less for flair.

I feel the need to speak my opinion so bare with me.

Npc leader roles are good and all for a short while. But later on don't the road this Npc may end up forgotten about and such. People or a person how ever dose have it's ups and Downs. Yes loa's and bad schedules can cause impact but it offers good opportunities like a nice change to stuff. The people or person can appeal to the newer members to help them get the foot in the door and feel included. New ideas can be better proposed to directions stories and the likes. The things an noc couldn't do. So in my book this is why I'd favor a small controled council.

Like the rules in some areas that if said person is inactive for X amount of days someone new may step up. If someone has to loa for a long time some sort of temporary may be added to fill the gap.

I looks like we're going with an NPC leader at this point. I think that's appropriate as this group is still building up. I'll direct the NPC leader for the time being, with a PC council made up of our masters. At a later time, we can choose to have someone dedicated and qualified to fill the position of grandmaster.

A PC Grandmaster serves no actual purpose, and holds no inherent value.

Any decisions that need to be made OOC will be made by the members as a whole anyhow, and anything administrative will fall on the shoulders of those within the faction that have mod capabilities.

You're focusing far too much on the "running" of the Jedi Order. What we need to focus on is "facilitating RP."

Sticking an NPC grandmaster in the post means we don't have to deal with pointless elections every few months when someone bails or their time is up. We don't need a democracy here, we just need a bunch of people willing to help set up RP.

It's not hard. Let's not make it hard.

I like the idea of a council having the final say, as I've always seen Grandmaster as a leader in a guidance sense than anything else, and the council voted on matters. I've RPd as if the council was as important as the grandmaster in almost every sense.
