Preface
The military of the Mandalorian Enclave is a multi-branch force based on the different needs, contexts and resources that the Enclave has to offer. Mandalorian military components are overseen by the Akaan'alor, while Aruetii (non-Mandalorian) military organizations are overseen by the Minister of Defense; both of whom answer to the Quartermaster.

The military of the Mandalorian Enclave is utilized both to protect Mandalorian life and property, but to defend the Enclave's interests both in domestic territory and across the galaxy.

MANDO'ADE

Clan Levies | Warriors of Crusade
All Mandalorians are known for one thing: their ability to fight. In times of war, the Clans of the Mandalorian Enclave are summoned to provide forces to supplant the standing military of the Enclave, in the form of Mandalorian Warriors and other resources -- armor and ships -- that a Clan may provide.

Clans may operate in Clan-based units lead by their Alor, or by an officer appointed by their Alor. Alternatively, individual warriors may join temporary units commanded by Alor'ads -- the size of these units, as is the case with most of the Mandalorian's military, is not based off of any strict order of battle but rather a system designed to fill the needs of a specific situation. As such, the size and equipment of a unit is dependent on available resources and the context of the Enclave's needs.

Whether in a Clan unit or an informal unit headed by an elected Alor'ad, Clan Levies fall under the command of the Akaan'alor for the duration of their deployment under the Enclave. As the Akaan'alor, as well as the Quartermaster, are no Mand'alor and thus under Mandalorian tradition have no true authority, there is no punishment for Clans and Individuals that do not answer the call. However, every Mandalorian who refuses the call may be judged by their fellow Mando'ade, and depending on the reason even be shunned in social situations and lose respectability among the Enclave.

The Si'kayha | Elite Mando'ade
The Si'kahya are the shield and sword of the Enclave, sworn to enforce the Enclave's will with utmost loyalty, dedication, and prowess in combat. Unlike levies of soldiers raised by Clan Alors in time of need, the Si'kahya are a constant force, a brotherhood of elite warriors who have forsworn all prior loyalties to be steadfast in their defence of the Enclave.

As the wardens of the Enclave, it takes being the best of the best to be counted among the Si'kahya's ranks. The elite brotherhood of soldiers are selected and trained through the brutally difficult process of the Kom'rk, an ordeal that only one of every ten manages to pass through. Each and every Si'kahya is then forced to abandon all loyalties they previously had; whether it be to a clan, to blood, or to debts unpaid. From the moment they receive their warrior's beskar'gam, the Enclave is their clan, and the Mandalorian people is their loyalty.

The Si'kahya represent the best that the Mandalorian people have to offer when it comes to blooded warriors, and it is one of the highest honors to be counted among their ranks. For many say there is no greater purpose than giving your life to ensure the legacy of your people carries on.

The most basic and fundamental structure of the Si'kahya is the squad. Each squad comprises of six members who have trained, bled, and bonded with each other. A single leader, designated as Alor'ad, is chosen by the individuals of their squad during the Kom'rk process. The rest of the subordinate warriors are merely referred to as Verd.

Outside of the traditional squad structure, there is not a formal battle of order like seen in most galactic militaries. Meritocratic in nature, units can be comprised by as many or few squads as needed, often bonded by shared triumphs and defeats and histories. These units rally behind whomever they choose, often veteran fighters that command respect. In addition, these informal units often give themselves their own designations, so that their name may win glory in battles to come. Leaders of these units are designated as Al'verde for the duration of their command.

While in most militaries this would only lead to chaos, among the Mandalorians of the Si’kahya it creates quite the opposite. By leaders only winning their positions from respect among their fellow soldiers, mutiny is nearly non-existent. The top commander of the Si'kahya is the Warmaster, or Akaan'alor who's duties include the overseeing of the Kom'rk and coordination between the Si'kahya and Enclave leadership.
The warriors of the Si'kahya are separated into three orders, distinguished by their preferred forms of combat as well as roles among the Si'kahya. Below are listed the three orders:

Rekr | Order of the Wolf
"Should the Sith come once more, they shall feel the cold steel of my blade."

  • Description: The closest to a standard fighter, the Rekr are versatile and dangerous, fighting with blaster rifle and beskad. They exhibit a balance of strength and mobility to be the backbone of the Si'kahya.
  • Equipment:
Jorir | Order of the Bear
"I am the shield on which the Enclave's enemies break."

  • Description: The Jorir are titans of strength among their Si'kahya brethren, wearing heavy armor and carrying heavy munitions. It is often boasted by the Jorir that only one of their order can face down an entire army, and no doubt they are eager to prove it.
  • Equipment:
Galaar | Order of the Hawk
"You do not see us. But you will feel the claw of our talons all the same."

  • Description: The Galaar are the most mobile of the three orders, using light armor, jetpacks, and stealth technology to gain the upper hand on their opponents. They are most often the reconnaissance, snipers, and infiltrators of a squad.
  • Equipment:
Jikar | Order of the Viper
"A slow death from a thousand cuts."

  • Description: The Jikar wield biological weapons to a lethal extent, specializing in toxins, poisons, and other methods of covert assassination. A Jikar are also the medics of their squad, able to tend to battlefield wounds and provide bio-supplements when necessary.
  • Equipment:
    • Armor | Si'kahya Beskar'gam, Bio-Warfare Variant [WIP]
    • Class Weapon | Jikar's Vambraces [WIP]

The Bes'kyrade | Mandalorian Navy
Naval warfare is not an art lost on Mandalorians, although their doctrine would not be considered uniform with the standard interstellar governments of the Galaxy. As intrinsic to their warrior culture as beskar'gam, starships have ferried Mandalorian armies on great conquests and crippled the militaries of those who have opposed them for many millennia.

With the Mandalorian Enclave's establishment as a galactic power with dominion over multiple star systems, the need for a coherent naval force has been recognized, both to defend Mandalorian lives at home and enforce the interests of the Enclave abroad. And thus, the fleet of the Bes'kyrade -- the Iron Raiders -- was born. A true Mandalorian Armada that will instill fear in the hearts of all those who fight against the Mando'ade and rally the warriors of Mandalore.

Like the Si'kayha, the Bes'kyrade is very fluid in its structure, as is Mandalorian tradition. 'The Ship' is the core unit of the Iron Raiders; each ship's captain, or Alor'ad, is essentially a king aboard his own vessel. Whatever a ship may be, from the smallest picket cruiser to the largest battlecruiser, each Alor'ad is considered equal among his or her peers.

Formations are commanded by Fleetmasters, or Tyatr'alor in Mando'a; these formations will vary in size and composition depending on the needs of a mission or objective. Thus, a Fleetmaster can find themselves commanding a fleet of as little as two ships to a fleet that can rival the size of standard sector armadas. Much of a fleet's size and capabilities depends on the individual Fleetmaster's ability to command loyalty, respect and trust from their various Alor'ad, making any fleet in the Bes'kyrade a truly meritocratic system.

The entirety of the Bes'kyrade falls under the command of the Akaan'alor, Warmaster of the Mandalorian Enclave (as well as the Quartermaster, the Enclave's head of state).

The Foreign Legion

The Foreign Legion is the Enclave’s military forces that comprises of non-Mandalorian soldiers and officers. Legionnaires are highly-trained by Mandalorians, and equipped with comparable armor and weapons. Despite being comprised of non-Mandalorians primarily from Enclave member worlds, the Foreign Legion is marked by its strong Frontier world patriotism and spirit of brotherhood.

Training is physically and psychologically demanded as recruits from varying cultures and backgrounds are ironed out into capable soldiers by Mandalorian standards. Special rights and privileges are given to soldiers of the Foreign Legion who complete a service term of five years, and they may re-enlist as well after this time. Legionnaires who complete their service are also candidates to become fully-adopted Mandalorians as foundlings, if they choose to be so. Additionally, Legionnaires who are wounded in battle are granted privileged status immediately, through the concept of “Mandalorian by blood.”
