End Of Line

The time had come.

Peace was something that could never be obtained within the galactic sense. After years of combating the darkness to little avail, this was plainly evident. Peace within the self-was even hard to attain when figuring in the events of an entire lifetime. Though he would like to think he had made a difference in the galaxy, he knew that he had not done much more than being a speck on the galactic stage. Only his children could ever make something happen.

The shuttlecraft landed on Eshan early in the morning. The bite of the cold wind blowing in from the snowy tundra sent shivers down his spine, but even after the years away from the world, he still felt comfortable there. The race of warriors. Here were people who understood him better than he could understand himself, and all they had to was spar with him to gain that knowledge.

The thought of spending a few days at the training center crossed his mind but quickly vanished. What purpose was there in it? The end was coming and he could be no more prepared than he already was. There was plenty to atone for: his failures as a father, nearly killing a family member, letting down the women he loved, and many others. To be frank, he didn't deserve a pleasant demise and wouldn't be angry if Spencer cut him down in spite. It would have made sense.

He approached the palace as most people left their homes to start their days. Though he was half-Echani, he stood out with his darker skin and the Corellian garb. Some recognized him as a former representative to the Republic for the former Echani Compact. Some knew him as the father of the Queen. The less informed saw only his lightsabers and whispered among themselves that he must be a Jedi or Sith. He paid them no mind.

Instead, he approached the palace proper, where he was stopped by the guard.

"I wish to see my daughter," he said, turning his blue eyes on the guard to his right. "Tell the Queen her father is here."
