End of Ultimatum?

So I have been thinking about Ultimatum's end, bound to happen at some point. If I have to go on an extended leave of absence, or I lose interest in the character, I need a story to give him a good end. I had been uncertain if I wanted to kill the character permanently or more of put him into hiding slash isolation.

At first my idea had been to have his brother finish the job he had started out to do. Effectively defeating Ultimatum, only leaving extra saved programs that could eventually reawaken. But that just did not feel right for the droid. I want something that has impact on the characters that he will have come in contact, something that will actually have an effect on what he has left behind. Death as seen in most places appears just to cause stagnation that slowly eats away at what is left. I was looking for some form of end that would ripple across and leave people thinking.

Unfortunately I don't see myself as a good enough writer to actually accomplish any form of writing that would impact a reader, so I don't really know what I could do convincingly. I have an idea which I building Ultimatum up towards, but I don't know if I will be able to write it realistically enough to have a reader find it interesting, let alone captivating. I've seen my early writings and been equally embarrassed by it as some writers are by their early works. I hope that the things I come out with now are on par with what I have read here.

So I guess this entry kind of went sideways to what I had intended but it has gotten somethings out. In the end I am very self-conscious of the works I make, I want them to be quality equal to that which I see, but I feel like I write trash compared to most. Perhaps it's a bit self-centered to think of it like that, I don't know.

So whatever was said above, I wanted some people's thoughts on how Ultimatum could meet the end of his time here, keeping in mind that I have something in mind already. Thoughts?

You just made a beautiful ship for him... You shouldn't be thinking of his death so soon D: Sure, I just encountered a roleplay where Galven may have died but that was circumstance, I didn't preemptively plan it. But, I digress

@Ultimatum

I am perfectly happy in killing your character :p , as long as we have a story driven reason in the role play.

Okay, before this goes any further, I am not thinking of killing off Ultimatum for the foreseeable future. He has a lot of story potential and I am still building up a lot of the elements that will play a role in his story, so no death at this time.

Thank you, you three for the offers. [member="Sabine Kurtass"] [member="Brynyar Ordo"] [member="Bianca"], I will kept it mind for future reference. :D

I am simply thinking about that time when his death is imminent. I am certain it will happen and I am just planning for it.

There's an idea, [member="Saverok the Unleashed"]. Thanks.

I almost freaked out when I saw this thread....

I know Pyro will cry if/when he "dies". Then probably leave Mustafar for good. Unless she dies before he does.
Or go on a killing rampage, especially if he is murdered./

Hehe, you'll be invited to the funeral.

Though at this time I am more contemplating simply removing him from play rather than properly killing him, something like debilitating his ability to use any physical body. Something where he is effectively dead, but not truly. The idea of faking a death sounds good.

Have you even come to remember my character? It's probably the best place for you to hide out on until or if you gain an interest in him once more. Because of our small meeting, we have a way to get in contact again, and because of my strange obsession with droid parts, you'd fit right into the junk closet without so much of someone blinking an eye.

I would very much like to be in on this just to advance my character while helping a fellow member out :) .

A thought if you joined the Empire you could join our wars. Win a bunch of wars and prove to be a hero. Then when you want the end, die an epic death. That is how I plan to end Vaildra one day.

If you wish for him to die, and not vanish off to some adventure, perhaps go against the majority. Don't make it heroic, epic or sad. Make it normal. No one expects it, and it can give goosebumps, people see the mortality of life.

I've done it before on an old site. Medieval fantasy, my thief, who was world-renown, just died overnight in his sleep. Nothing abnormal, no poison or anything nefarious. Nature took him. Perhaps my most enjoyable death for any of my characters.

Since he's a droid character, you could always have him being damaged in a fight to the point his programming collapses in on itself, putting him in a dormant state. Then, if the muse strikes you again, you could plot with someone discovering his wreck on some junkyard and fixing him up as a companion, unaware that his old murderbot programming is slowly coming back to the forefront.

The options are endless, really.

I think you got one interesting character here and you have certainly developed him over time. Well done from a secret fan!

Put him in the basement in your fortress, powered down. Only to be activated by some special circumstance. ( security breach, special code, new super program installed...) You make up tat circumstance when you return...
