"Val!"
No matter how bad the pain was and how little energy she still had left, the voice of her friend cut through it all and forced her orange eyes to open slowly. While her body wasn't broken, the scars of all the torture she endured were still visible, and Kalie would find them without a doubt — only a torn tunic covered her just barely at this point.
"Kalie..." Valery muttered weakly as they prepared to move her.
Looking up at her friend's face, she no longer cared that it was a reprogrammed Replicant — she acted and felt like the Kalie she knew, and the woman obviously cared a great deal about Valery too. So her own eyes filled with tears and with the little bit of strength she had left, an arm was stretched out so she could place her hand on Kalie's shoulder.
"You guys came for me. Thank you."
More than that, she couldn't get out and while they'd move her back to the ship for extraction and medical treatment, Valery slipped back into unconsciousness. She was, however, stable and it wouldn't be too long before she could pull two of her closest friends into a hug.

AGENT: KALIE ALVEREZ
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: FIND & RESCUE VALERY NOBLE
TAGS: Lyrrin Lyrrin Valery Noble Valery Noble Darth Carnifex Darth Carnifex

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she leaned forward and kissed Valery Noble Valery Noble on the forehead. She knew that Val struggled with the idea of her existence as an android that was programmed as her best friend, and who could blame her. But now, she needed to be the Kalie that Val knew and loved. Nothing else matters but bringing comfort to Val and getting her out of here.

She carefully wrapped her arms underneath Val and lifted her effortlessly into the air, placing her gently onto the MEV medical droid and pulling Val's hair tenderly out of her face with her finger as she looked down upon her dearest friend. The Jedi was now unconscious, and so Kalie paused, taking a moment to speak openly to her, knowing she would not remember her words...

"I wish with all my heart that you could feel the same way for me that I feel for you." She said softly through her tears. "I know it can never be the same… and I have to live with that… but you need to know just how much I love you… I will never stop loving you, Val… You'll always be my best friend… Whether I'm an android or a human…" She cleared her throat, wiping away the tears with the back of her hand as she stood slowly, looking down at her one last time with a mix of intense emotions.

"Heading to you now, Lyrrin." She said in a somewhat broken and emotional tone as she rallied the droids and they made their way over the rubble and out towards the vehicle. Kalie ran around to the back and opened the doors, escorting the MEV inside with Val as well as the other droids. Once they were inside, she closed the door and ran quickly to the passenger door, opening it and sitting down inside.

"Lets go." She said softly as she stared down at the console in front of her, unable to look at Lyrrin. It was moments like this where she felt lost… her closest relationships feeling like a horrible facade… no matter how much she felt like she was Kalie, she wasn't. And Lyrrin Lyrrin and Valery Noble Valery Noble knew that. Even if they cared for her… it was different. But not for her. And that was the horrible reality of her existence.

The Dark Lord lowered back down to the ground, watching with quiet disinterest as the vehicle sped away with Valery Noble tucked inside. He could have given chase, used His powers to make their escape more perilous. But that would have left a different impression in Valery's mind, one that He did not necessarily want to foster. Instead, He wanted her to think back on this moment, a brief glimmer of sunlight that broke through the dark clouds to deliver her to sanctuary. How easily the Dark Lord allowed her to escape, to flee with her companions, who had come down and quickly broke into the temple to take her.

Let her ruminate on this moment, and allow the fainest tremor of dread to quick her pulse. Why was her escape allowed? Why had the Dark Lord stood idly by while her companions spirited her to safety? Was it a trap? Another move in a game that Valery had only the slightest inclination of? She would never know, for the Dark Lord would never reveal His hand unless it stood to bring Him to a quicker victory.

As the vehicle sped away from the now desolate village, the Dark Lord reached out and dragged the tip of His fingernail down the center of His palm. The flesh split easily, black blood welling up from the fresh wound to pool in His hand. Closing His fingers around the blood, the Dark Lord wrenched His arm back and threw the quickly congealing mass towards the rear of the vehicle as it sped away. It connected with a soft plop, sticking to the metal and spreading out over a small area no greater than a dinner plate before melding into the metal. The Dark Lord then pinched the wound on His palm closed with His fingers, staunching the blood that had briefly flowed.

"Until we meet again, Valery Noble. I will be watching."
