Could I hire Matthew to be a detective for me after a string of strange attacks and the like on the ports and such. She also has those ports inspected, but well...bribery happens.

I'm just throwing ideas out there to see what lands.

Well, his education falls under lawyering, but I'm sure Matthew wouldn't object to some form of income. An important part of being a lawyer is finding out the facts.

Oooo....A lawyer is perfect. Kay is a Senator that may or may not be in trouble with the Republic for breaking some of the laws. There may be a trial, there might not be. So she could look into hiring him for that and through their conversations about what she's been doing, he might want to look into Jaster's ports, or other such places.
