Exploring Yavin

A temple here? Well why not? Elayne smiled and took a deep breath. Taking a deep breathe and enjoying the air. It was so nice to be here and out of the ship. She was in her leather Dathomir outfit. It was lovely to explore another planet, another temple. She smiled looking at the various jedi running around. She didn't often explore the jedi but today worked enough. The Silver jedi had gotten a bit boring of late so it was nice to get away. Elayne wondered where Syn was, she had to admit she hadn't seen much of him since I'ella died. Elayne smiled and sat in the garden. It wasn't often one got to meditate in such a nice setting. There was that and well she was hoping to find herself and the best way to do that was to self examine.

The Jedi Temple on Yavin IV had proven to be a productive place for Morgana to be. The overall sense of energy and presence of the Force that seeped throughout the jungles of the planet was comforting to her. It had kept her relaxed, more so than being in the Jedi temple on Ossus. There was more space and far more life to be seen here. Not to mention all the different Jedi she met. They were more inviting than the ones at the Ossus temple, who tended to tease her for past reasons. Being away and yet still being able to train was a nice change of pace for the young girl.
Morgana, for today, was in the garden and trying to figure how to better her meditation. It was something she was told to work on but, as always, she found herself too perplexed by other things to ever sit down for a moment. She tried a few times but always found her thoughts wandering away, which got on her nerves since she hated that she couldn't stay focused. She shook it off and tried again for the fifth time, only for her attention to now be caught by someone approaching. She turned to see as, not too far away, a woman dressed in odd attire had entered the Temple's gardens. Her dressing was different from anything Morgana had seen yet it looked vaugly similar to Jedi robes. Perhaps something of a different nature Jedi. Who knew? Curious enough she stood, fixing herself and dusting off before walking over towards her.
As she came closer she said "Hey there. Glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys a little time by herself in the garden. Or...did I just interrupt something and make a jerk of myself?" she quickly asked when she remembered the 'alone' part of what she said.
[member="Elayne Hawk"]

Elayne smirked "Well I love nature in general, though I must say nothing beats Dathomir still but this will have to do. " She said while her mind moved to the open plains and such of Dathomir and her Rancor. That was right Elayne had a Rancor, who she missed dearly. It was interesting to think that it had been as long as it had for elayne since she had been there. It just made her miss home all the more. Oh how long it had been. "You didn't interrupt anything other than my own thoughts. So don't worry about it. I am Elayne Hawk. " She smiled and approached her. It wasn't often she got to interact with someone, most left her alone. " Don't worry so much about being a jerk, talking to someone is hardly room to insult your self like that. "

She chuckled and took a seat on the bench and motioned for the woman to do the same. " I was just taking in the fresh air and the garden. Isn't it wonderful to be in places such as this? The plants the air. It is all so great. " Elayne loved nature growing up in a tribe, where technology wasn't around. The galaxy seemed like too much some times. That is why she so treasured a temples garden and the wilderness of vast mostly uninhabited worlds. This was after all the reason she loved jedi temples so much they were always so isolated.

Morgana gave a little eased sigh of relief when [member="Elayne Hawk"] as she introduced herself, had said she was no bother for interrupting her. She listened as she explained how she enjoyed the natural beauty of things, something Morgana came to appreciate more while being here on Yavin IV. Perhaps Elayne had sensed the underlying natural feel of the Force around the place as well.
Looking around Morgana nodded when she finished, saying "Yeah. It's always a nice change of pace from..." she stopped as she looked, noticing something she said. "Wait, Dathomir? You mean you're from...?" She gasped before asking "Like the Nightsisters?" Another gasp before she followed up with "Are you a witch?" her tone almost building with excitement.

"Yes, though I am no night sister. I am an Allayan Witch and of the Singing Mountain Clan. " She wasn't going to mention how her mother lead the whole clan if she could get away with it. "I am surprised not many know about witches, though may I ask your name?” She said noting the girl hadn’t introduced herself. She giggled a bit at the woman. She after all didn’t often find someone so excited to meet a witch.

"Surely you don't want to be bored about that though. Tell me about yourself, surely you aren't just an ordinary jedi." She said with a smile. After all it wasn't often she got to talk. Elayne liked talking to such an interesting woman. She seemed to know more than your average jedi. After all it wasn't many who knew dathomir let alone the witches on it.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

Morgana's heart skips a beat as a ever growing smile on her face quivered. She had a feeling this woman was not the usual sort of witch like the Nightsisters of Dathomir. Their magic was more a means of the darkside, an of course Morgana would've sensed something like that. But this woman was not of those clans, instead she was a Singing Mountain Clan. While she knew very little about them she did know for a fact that their magic was more of the lightside nature. They were the closest thing the Jedi had to magic, at least from what Morgana could understand. And now to see and meet on in person was an amazement. Now she felt a little under-dressed, looking like the punk rocker girl she was and not a Jedi padawan as everyone else dressed to be.
When asked Morgana hurried over, shaking [member="Elayne Hawk"] by the hand, and saying "I'm Morgana. Morgana Forceborn. Ad no, I wouldn't be bored at all. I've always wanted to meet a witch, especially one of the lightside clans. You're magic has always been an interest to me. I've tried finding teachers in it but everyone tells me there's no point when I'm already studying to be a Jedi. But frak on that. I think magic is just as useful."

Elayne laughed and shook her hand with a smile. “Well, I agree, I mean I know a bit of the jedi way, not nearly as much as I would like to anyway. Well I could teach you, I mean if you really want to learn.” She said with a smile. “Though you might find it tough and different, it is passed down from mother to daughter generation to generation and thus is very special to me.”
Elayne laughed “perhaps you can even show me a trick or two of your Jedi ways, if you have anything I might not know.. Regardless I would be happy to teach you as I said if you wanted. “ Elayne after all loved spreading her customs to others. It helped spread the teachings of her people to others. “

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

More eager fire swelled in Morgana's body at the idea of actually being taught magic by [member="Elayne Hawk"] . she gave her answer "Yes. I would. I really would. I'll try no matter how tough it is." She looked around finding a spot on the garden grounds for them to sit, sweeping her foot across to get any and all dirt and leaves out of the way. After that she sat down, fixing her coat tails before folding her legs. She seemed like a schoolgirl awaiting an award from her teaching, or a child on life day awaiting a long deserved present. "And don't worry." she added. "I'll teach whatever I can. Heck I'll teach you how to play a guitar if it means getting some magic in."

Arrows of Fire
Initiate: When this spell is used upon a fire (such as a campfire, lantern, or candle), it causes the fire to flash and shoot small arrows of flame that shoot out at a 10 feet radius. The directions of the arrows are uncontrolled and random. The amount and speed of arrows varies as per the size of the original flame.

Elayne smiled and looked at Morgana pulling out some scroll parchment that obviously wasn't from any modern world. It was blank until she wrote something on it quickly. This was important after all. It wasn't every day you got to give someone their Trial by fire. “So I hope you’re a quick study in languages… you’re going to have to learn Paecean. “ She smiled and wrote down the spell in Paecean on the parchment handing it to the girl. The scroll had the following words on it.

Wahin Kpe Peta Kiya Toketkiya hohe

“First we will master pronouncing the words, once we have that down, we can get to casting it. I will help you don’t worry.” Elayne would help her say each word correctly for a bit finally deciding she was almost there. She recorded her voice saying each word and handed the recorder to Morgana. “Once you can say each word correctly we will be able to cast the spell, but until then I will work on getting us a fire for the spell to make some arrows out of. “

Elayne walked off into the jungle returning with wood for campfire. She didn’t pay any mind to the strange looks or the fact she was starting a fire in the garden. She spoke a cantation of her own with a smile. “ Peta Kiya Toketkiya Ca” She smiled as the wood before her spontaneously started on fire. She prepared a also grabbed a shield generator and put it over them. She was sure that got her the weirdest looks. But the temple had it and she would make sure that her student didn’t start the garden on fire. This way the shield being over them, her arrows wouldn’t start the temple or the garden on fire.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

When [member="Elayne Hawk"] had mentioned needing to know another language Morgana did drop a little. And here she thought she didn't need the Force ability that involved understanding any and all languages. Her regret would have to wait as she looked down at what was scrolled down on the paper. She gave a quick scan before Hawk had mentioned how she would allow her time to practice before starting a fire and using the remains to make arrows. She gave her an odd look when the shield generator came into play but kept looking back at her note to try and understand the words. Of course she didn't get it on the first try, instead needing to sound things out bit by bit. She stopped and scratched her head one or twice before trying again, giving deeper looks at the scribbled down words.
"Wah-in...Kpe Peta Kiya....Toketkiya ho-he!" she finally said. "Hey, I think I got it!"

Elayne smiled as she heard the words to the spell correctly. “ Perfect! “ She was so glad for her. “ I know it’s hard but you will get the hang of it. If you wanted I could immerse you by taking you to Dathomir. She said with a giggle longing to see her rancor and home and mother. She laughed a bit at the strange look. “ The shield is so you don’t set the garden on fire. Now this is your Trial by Fire, we will find out if you have the gift now. You have to successfully cast the spell 5 times in the next hour, once that is done you will know that spell, and then it just takes practice. This spell creates arrows of fire out of an existing source of fire. When you first learn it, the arrows will go in random directions so thus the shield. I rather not have to explain why the garden started on fire. “
Elayne looked at her and hoped that she understood. “Any questions?”

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

With every explanation Morgana began to understand, yet still felt all the more confused. The shield now made sense, especially because she knew this being her first try would mean things could scatter and even she didn't want the garden to suffer from her mistakes. The idea of going to Dathomir wasn't a bad idea, Morgana perking at the idea of traveling with [member="Elayne Hawk"] to it, but said nothing. She knew it was best to save that for later. She needed to be with the Jedi for now. After that came the question of if she had the gift, which did catch her attention.
"You mean there's a chance I don't? Even with the Force?"

"Well chances are you can, since you can use the force. I really only say that as that is what my mother told me. We don't have any other way to really try out if a child is a witch or not. So this will be a good test I suppose. " She said with a smile. " The test is a tradition, and if you pass you get that scroll as a memento to forever keep to remember today." She said knowing exactly where her scroll was. " Just give it a try, 5 times you need to cast the spell and it will be yours to use whenever though I do suggest you practice. Since directing the arrows is rather important if you want to use this spell. " Elayne smiled ready to deflect any arrow that went her way with naught but a hand sign. She took a deep breath hoping that Morgana would manage it. She really did. It would be so much fun to have someone to teach.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

With the final piece of information out of the way Morgana nodded, giving one deep breath before looking to the fire and the wood. She held her hand out as she repeated the magic words in her mind. One hand with a palm pointed near the fire and an inner hope that she could do it. Even if she slipped up, as was the case with her on most occasions, hopefully it would be too bad. And [member="Elayne Hawk"] was a more gifted magic user than her. Of course she would keep things under control.
"Wahin Kpe Peta Kiya Toketkiya hohe!" she chanted, and watched as the fire began to react.
To her amazement the fire leaped and from it sprouted arrows that flew out in all directions. They struck against the shield, flying far over either of their heads. She gave a wide smile to Hawk as she began to do it again. Each time it was just as good as the last. Four more sprawls of arrows flew out, made of pure fire, and struck against the shield. They were done rather quick but more because of how eager Morgana was in knowing that she did posses the gift. It means there was more potential for her after all.

Elayne smiled and hugged the girl rather enthusiastically, showing just how much natural strength she had by accident. “You did it! Now keep that scroll and remember this day, the day you passed your trial by fire. “She said with a smile disabling the shield and curious where that left the two. “ So now that you did one spell I don’t suppose we can get some sort of training relationship going… I mean I know I am not a jedi but well I helped them defend against the one sith once, when they invaded so I am sure they would have no problem with me being around. “

She hoped that she could get to know this girl. She seemed so very enthusiastic toward her culture and that excited Elayne. “Unless you don’t want to, I understand if that is the case.” She said with a smile It wasn’t every day that you got to teach someone a spell and they pick up on it so quickly. Let alone be so motivated. To think she was here now… and when she was not that much younger she never dreamed of leaving Dathomir yet here she was on Yavin. Life had taken an interesting twist for her that was sure.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

Morgana had been so excited she actually returned [member="Elayne Hawk"] hug without even thinking. After she did she had a moment of realization but didn't care. She was just glad she found that she had the gift while also being able to use it well. After that Morgana perked at the idea of having yet another teaching, and this one a witch at that. It was nice to know she could have so many influences and teachings given when for the longest time she had none, even feeling as though no one could given her uncontrollable nature with the Force.
She stopped her when she thought she would say no, with Morgana saying "Oh no. Not at all. I'd be honored. All of this is amazing. And Force knows I could use more training. How many jedi can honestly say they know magic, right?"

Elayne smiled and giggled " True true.. Now then what sort of spell should we teach you next is the question. I also think it would be helpful if you visited Dathomir with me at some point, Our magic is more than spells, it is a culture and when I teach it to you, you are becoming an Allayan Witch, and that is an honor and you should know why we do things as we do them. " Elayne let go of her and then spoke directly into Morgana's mind. "After all, we do have many secrets." She began to walk off. Morgana's mind again filling with Elayne's voice. " Think on your lesson today and practice that spell should you have the time. I have to prepare a few things, come see me after thinking to yourself for a while. " After all it was not just a force trick that Elayne was teaching Morgana. She was teaching her what it meant to be a witch. Granted Elayne was unlike most, she knew jedi tricks but still she was a witch when it came down to it.

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

Even as [member="Elayne Hawk"] had asked Morgana already knew she was going to say whatever she could teach her. The idea of being trained as not only a Jedi but an Allayan Witch seemed all the more interesting and eventful. The thought of going to Dathomir hit her harder, making her think on how great an adventure it would be to visit though also have to worry about any darker influences that were said to haunt the place. She trusted Hawk though, knowing that if there were those like her then there would be others. As she then spoke into her mind, wanting her to think on it, Morgana only nodded before watching her walk off.
Morgana sat alone in the same spot, only moving towards a place to better sit, while thinking on it. So much of her agreed to go yet she had her doubts. Would the Jedi fully comply with this? What if something happened with a spell and it went out of hand? So much could go wrong while on Dathomir, but was it worth it to have more abilities to benefit her?
Eventually she had her answer, hunting down Hawk wherever she was in the temple and saying "I'm in." with a confident smile.

Elayne had really not been preparing much. She was really just off thinking about things. She really had lost herself of late and a new trainee was a chance to find herself again. She smiled when she noted that padawan approach her. Well that is what I was hoping to hear. Well let me know when it is a good time for you to visit. I will teach you in the meantime anything you want . After all we have to get you trained.

Elayne raised her finger to her lip as she thought about it. “Consider yourself an Witch Initiate and Jedi Padawan .” She said knowing she was something of the same. “When we go, you can meet my Rancor. She is adorable and would love to meet you I am sure. That and you can meet the people of my clan. My parents and several others can speak basic don’t worry, but if you want to learn Pacean, it would be an ideal place to be thrown into it.

(let me know what spells you want to learn)

[member="Morgana Forceborn"]

A witch initiate. Morgana truly liked the sound of that. She smiled as [member="Elayne Hawk"] spoke more of what she would see and meet on Dathomir whenever she came to train. The idea of a pet rancor of course did interest her, making her wonder if she'd ever have an exotic pet like that of her own. Even the idea of being able to speak another language had great interested her; also making her think she needed to learn the Force ability to understand any and all languages. All of it just sounded so good that Morgana could barley speak, only too wrapped up in her own thoughts as to what sort of doors this now opened for her.
(Spell of Communication, Force Crush, Tempest, Alter, Mind Touch and Lightning.)
