FAB as a Farmboy [Closed]

"Your threats mean nothing to me Jedi, I act on my own accordance. You're welcome." He spoke, lifting to his feet slowly. The boy would make his way out of the racing stadium, heading for his hangar bay. Obviously he would be on the planet for more then ten minutes, for the trip between areas was much more than the time [member="Zaren Bouqi"] had threatened him with. Either way Tanaab was not a planet that interested the Sith Knight, prompting him to leave in his Imperial shuttle.

Sressechka's Jenny buzzed through the air, weaving through the waypoints of the course and rounding about for the returning half of the route. She had managed sixth place at this point, and while the new leader of the pack seemed to be beyond her reach, the Twi'lek was confident that she could score a third-place finish--maybe second place if she got a little lucky.

Winds were picking up a little and she found she had to toggle the joystick extra to compensate for the drift. Fortunately, the bulkiness of her older aircraft was beneficial as the sleeker, lighter ships of the other racers were more easily influenced by the gusts and set off-course. She was about three kilometers away from the finish line when she made the pass to achieve fifth place.

There was a landmark barn just to her starboard that indicated how far out from the stands they were, and Sressi figured now was a good time to kick in the afterburners. Rotating a dial on her joystick, she opened up the injectors in the engine and zoomed away, catching up to the flyer in fourth-place in no time. Hopefully the 'media guy' was watching her maneuvers on the holocams.

The ships were on their way back around and the race was nearly finished, his helmet allowed him to zoom in on a location. So when he saw the ship's in the distance he was zooming in upon them, the ship that [member="Sressechka"] was flying was moving faster, she had hit the boost and was now making her attempts at moving ahead to the front.

First she had to get to third though.

She didn't have enough time to get to first he didn't think.

He would see.

Sressechka gunned the ship further ahead, passing the craft and assuming his position. Third place was not too far beyond her sites, but she would have to hurry.

Coming abreast of the next opponent in line, Sressi banked her aircraft in sharply around a waypoint marker, the old T-16's size becoming a hindrance as it cut directly into the wind. The injector fuel was dwindling and she still had to pass this guy if she wanted to show. Switching off the afterburners, the pilot girl lagged behind the other ship and waited for the final turn before punching in the afterburners once more.

They were neck-and-neck for the final half kilometer of the race when Jenny's engines choked, completely burnt out of fuel. The Skyhopper slowed down and began a steep glide before a crosswind burst from the starboard, pushing the tall dorsal rudder and rolling the craft into a death dive.

Sressechka pulled back and closed her eyes...

The Force was a magnificent thing. By the time that the girl's ship was going into a death dive, Zaren Bouqi was already getting up to his feet and letting the Force carry his body towards her ship. Within the space of fifteen seconds he was there, and he leapt up into the air, letting the Force guide his hands as he opened up her cockpit through the use of the Force, and pulled he out of it.

In the last seconds before it hit the ground he straight up into the air, with her in his powerful phrik armoured body, and he arced his body so that he would be the first thing that hit the ground, so that she would land atop of him, and then they crashed into the ground, a pile of bodies, one on top of the other.

He didn't say anything while his HUD assessed the damage that had been taken, but he wondered about the state of condition [member="Sressechka"] was in.

Sressechka was not quite sure what had hit her. Whatever it was, it was not the ground, at least. Somewhere along the way from sky to earth, the glass on one side of the cockpit had been completely shattered and she had found herself smashing through the other side, lekku whipping about while her body was enveloped by a metallic form. No doubt that had left a mark. She would be feeling whatever it was later.

In the meantime, she was still breathing and still half-awake, battered and lying in a daze within someone's hold. "Big Bro..." she murmured, brain discombobulated. "What happened to Jenny?"

He looked at the woman in his arms and his helmet retracted from his head and found it's resting place between his shoulder blades. She had called him 'Big Bro?' He was no brother of hers were his first thoughts, and then he realized that she wasn't completely awake, and he tried to shake her out of her reverie.

"I'm Zaren Bouqi, the man who saved your life. Oh, and Jedi Knight." He said as he started to get up, although carefully so he didn't hurt her for whatever reason, and then he helped her up to her feet when she was able to do so.

"I don't know." He replied while he looked around and his gaze followed the trail of shrapnel towards what was once Jenny.

She sat up and stumbled in the direction of the smoke for a few steps, breathing heavily as she began to realize what had happened. This one had been a bad one. She was not sure if she could afford to repair damage of this magnitude. Jenny...

"You're a Jedi Knight..." she mused, now informed of his true occupation--he was no media representative. But she supposed he was a hero of sorts, having rescued her from a potentially deadly accident. She owed him that much in gratitude. Of course, Sressi would fail to acknowledge that, her mind already more concerned about her pride and joy. "You can do some super mind thing and fix her up, right?"

"No, it doesn't work like that." He said with a shake of his head and checked his armour to see if it was damaged anywhere. If it was, he couldn't see any obvious marks so all he did was look back to @Sressechka.

He didn't a thank you, it was his duty to save people like that, so all he did was incline his head and turn away and prepared to walk away.

The Rutian felt a little guilty for being so... materialistic with the man. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to--" She turned around and realized that he was walking away. Dashing up to come alongside him, she tried to correct her arrogance. "I mean to say thanks. That was going south for me back there, and I'm thankful that you did what you did.

"That's my girl over there. She'll make it--she's done it before. But I've got some money if you'd like it."

He frowned when she continued to follow after him, although he didn't stop walking. He almost faltered when she had offered him credits. A long time ago when he was a Padawan, he had prepared for the chance that if the Jedi Order were to be destroyed, he'd have plenty of credits hidden and waiting for use.

In fact he had checked upon them once, and they were still hidden, but now, he didn't need other people's money. As much as he may have wanted it.

"No. Keep your credits for your ship." He never stopped walking, he had contacted the droid upon his ship, and it was bringing the ship to him. It would be there in a few minutes anyway.

Sressechka stopped and tread no further, watching the Jedi progress onwards. Maybe this was all in a day's work and nothing of note--saving lives and all that. Whatever it was, he seemed rather uninterested in anything anymore. Had he truly had high hopes for her in the race only to be let down in the final moments? If so, he could suck it. As if she was not having a bad day...

"Well," the Twi'lek started, not sure what to say. Maybe nothing complicated was best. "Goodbye, then. Thanks for the rescue..." Her voice trailed off as she turned about to finally take in the extent of the damage to her Jenny. She would let him have her gratitude and not tarry any further from his important Jedi business.
