I'd like to ask each Candidate to give an in-brief description of where they would take the faction should they win.

I may write up something more substantial when I'm not on mobile, but if I were to win I'd work closely with the Technate to make the ASA a technologically superior government. I'd see if I can end hostilities with the protectorate (read as: no more invasions for awhile) and become pretty isolationist. I'd try to organise fun dominions and peacefully expand, and also promote developing and submitting worlds in wild space. Overall, in a nutshell, very locally centric and a lot of development.

The main disadvantage with me is that IC I'm not in a position to take charge, do I'd be a purely OOC leader.

A successful faction will be that way because the members are driving forwards story-based activities. The faction administrators are really there to help facilitate that and provide guidance. At the moment we’re short on manpower, and we haven’t had a really good faction story together since we wrote about Salem’s revolution – and even then it was just a few of us.

We need a “hook” to bring new members in, to make sure they feel like a contributing part of the faction, and get people together for stories more. We've got a good core of great writers, but we need more on board! We need to put in place structures to help guide members through progression, particularly the Force Users who want to train and reach Knight and Master. I’d work to get some new adverts going to try and bring in some more members and ensure that our faction has a flavour; everyone knows the Republic or Sith, the ASA has little meaning until people dig deep. We have the Techno Union and Spynet to sell, and we need to ensure the Knights Obsidian grows to tens of members and carves out a story of its own.

The layout of the forum is currently a mess, we should tidy it and simplify it to get all the information people need right at their fingertips. All IC threads should be in public with a faction tag, to ensure people know that we’re active and want to become part of this.

We should have Invasions, but they need to be occasional. They are the lifeblood of the board, whether that is good or bad, and they gain our faction attention. Without them, we’ll drift away from galactic events a bit. Particularly as the board doesn’t seem to organise to do large scale events any more. We could do with some recurring villains and NPC characters that everyone has bought into to try and give us focus when writing dominions and stories.

What I'm looking at the faction (And I know [member="Raziel"] and I have similar looks and I'm not reading his sexy sexy post) is that we need to become something new and unique.

We are rising from the former Confederacy, and from that, we developed our Techno Union, now Technate. All factions have a very similar look, focus on the military and the Force users. What I am going to focus on is the development of science, technology and business. Encouraging members to lead non-canon and canon companies, or work within the established ones to develop new technology and services for the galaxy at large. While companies are under rule to not slash each other (if they are ASA sponsored companies), they are welcome to compete for the same monopolies. The game would be on in-character development, learning and expansion.

With this in mind, our military would take a stark change, moving in the direction of droid units, starfighters and droids soldiers, and away from organic units. Of course, we would have organic units and organic handlers and commanders. But these organics are very highly trained (the best money can buy) and highly armed. Think private militia of super soldiers. Our soldiers and pilots would be getting the best weapons, armor and vehicles (land and space) we could create. Our SpyNet would be all organic with gadgets that would make 007's Q branch weep. As well as our Knights Obsidian being revamped into a smaller group of soldiers, with all cadets going through the same training until they reach their Knight level, from there, they can and will focus to the skillset that makes them more useful for the government at large. They are welcome to practice their Wizard Religions, so long as it does not interfere with the Authority's goal.

The goals of this vision is to advance technology and the free market, keep our borders secure, and defend the ideals of the System Authority, and only invade another state if they are taking down our market. If they ban our products, then we take a diplomatic stance, but if they attack supply lines without warning, we will return fire.

The game will change with this vision of the ASA. It will have a new approach to the game, and still have something for everyone.

[member="Rhoujen"], even though I doubt he'll get it. I feel that [member="Raziel"] is not on enough to manage the leadership as well as Atretes, and [member="Marek Starchaser"] isn't someone I would feel comfortable enough with as leader due to past reasons I will not bring up here.
