Factions and Writers

From what I've seen, factions mirror their writers

One Sith and Galactic Republic: This is where all the noobs go to at first, as its easly recognizable. Writing for alot of members is fast paced, but low quality, with some obvious exceptions. EDIT: Harsh but it is true. These are the biggest and most well known factions, and while there are plenty of good writers for every 1 good theres 2 bad that join for a few days and are never heard from again.

Silver Sanctum, The Primeval and the First Order : This is where a lot of the better writers end up int, Decent posting speed and not too many fools in here. EDIT: These three are all solid choices, and where I'd really suggest you go if you want to expirience the best respective communities on this site.

Hutt Cartell, Mandalorians: This is where I noticed a lot of the more hardcore lore fans wind up, they post slowly but their posts tend to be a lot longer and more detailed than the other factions.Although the communities themselves arent all that active.EDIT: Both of these are quite specific in what they do, and dont offer the broad range of things the other factions do, which to some might be a turn off

Minor Factions: Please PM me and I'll review your stuff at some point

Alura Travelling Circus: A collection of random fun people focused on having fun. And doing circus-y stuff, and smuggling, and breaking into thing? Thats what I've gotten. Pretty good writers overall, Thumbs Up.

Point while I'm Here: If you're going to post below, say something other than a variation of "You're wrong" Post some actual discussion please. This isn't meant at an insult, its supposed to be an honest critique of the major and eventually minor factions, so no need to be upset, you'll alll love the opportunity to shred me when I put up a "Please Critique Thread" So dont play the injured sheep here please.

There are plenty of good writers in the factions you've already reviewed. I know, because I have about ten of them in my message box. Before making judgement on all of the factions, join each one and play with half of the people. You might even like it there.

I have been around since 2013 and been a part of every major faction save a few. From my knowledge, every single writer has their exceptions. At one point I made it an event to post as often as I could 3k+ word count posts, with as little repetition of words as possible. But also I have times where I post less that a hundred words.

Can't really categorize in this fashion, for that reason.

If you'll notice I did point out there were exceptions. However nobody can deny what i say is true. How many single line troopers has the republic gotten? How many "I am master kill death assassin' noob sith have the OS Gotten?

I couldn't agree with you less. There is quality writing in every single faction, large or small.

And who are you to judge? We are all here to have fun, flex our creative muscle and RP on a Star Wars board. No one's posts are going to win a Pulitzer Prize (though I have seen some truly literary writing in posts).

Even though the map game is a competition, the writing game should not be.

Sometimes a short sweet post is where the love is and all that is needed.

Doesn't make me nor others a fool simply by what faction they write in.

Everyone started as a nooblet. Everyone.

There is nothing inherently wrong about a short post, and I've given them myself honestly, but some people coming to this site can be quite ticked off by this, and I'm simply offering some advice.

To Everyone else, theres no need to get upset about this. I'm just as bad as some of the things i'm critiquing, but that doesnt mean I should be silenced just because my opinions contradict yours. Because thats what they are, opinions. I have a right to mine, and you your's. But can anyone honestly say i'm lying here? Do the OS and GR , the two largest factions by far, not also receive the largest amount of nooblets, who improve slowly or not at all? Or quit soon after joining?

Oh we have fools in the SSC, and I am the biggest one of them all.
:p

I, for one, welcome this hard-hitting, warranted, and totally accurate critical analysis. Ever since I read the "new species" thread posted by the author of this topic, I have waited with bated breath for their opinions on the quality, skill, and content of all major factions and their writers. Now, I know what you all may be thinking. "Dearest Gerion, why on earth would you hinge yourself upon the opinions of a person who can barely grasp the fundamentals of grammar?" To this I say one acronym and one acronym only: #YOLO. Life is too short to only listen to people who have something interesting or intelligent to say.

Now, if you will excuse me, I will be moving all of my characters into the Order of the Black Rose. By process of elimination after reading this review, it is the only real choice.

Allright, then I invite you to disprove my statemen that: The One Sith and Galactic Republic get the most new members, and also the ones newest to roleplaying, whose content is almost always of lower quality than the ones that sought out more secluded and lore focused factions
