SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Light - The FAE/AM-01 energy weapon cartridges are among the smallest and lightest on the market. A typical unaugmented Human soldier armed with a blaster rifle can very easily carry more than 50 cartridges to supply the weapon while carrying other soldiering essentials on their person, making ammunition concerns almost trivial.
  • Cooling - The FAE/AM-01 cartridges are distinguished from other cartridges on the market due to the fact that they also carry coolant. This allows soldiers to maintain an optimal effective rate of fire over long firefights, as the coolant from the cartridge can be fed into cooling coils (i.e. coolant flush) to rapidly cool a weapon and prevent it from overheating.
  • Universal - The FAE/AM-01 cartridges can be fed into almost any weapon (so long as the weapon is within the right size class), as the programmable matter feeds and adapters can adjust to fit the ports.
WEAKNESSES
  • Technological Corruption - As with any piece of technology, if left unprotected, the FAE/AM-01 cartridges will be vulnerable to the predations of Mechu-deru and other means of techno-sorcery.
  • Rupture - Like any ammunition cartridge, the FAE/AM-01 cartridges can explode if the power cell is ruptured.
DESCRIPTION
The FAE/AM-01 Energy Weapon Cartridges represent First United Astral Engineering’s first efforts in optimizing and standardizing its line of energy weapons.

Coming in ten different sizes. the first size class, the FAE/AM-01-S1, is intended for gauntlet-mounted weapons, standard-sized handguns, and other weapons of similar size and power needs. For heavy handguns, SMGs, and other weapons with similar power demands, the S2 class is most fitting.

From here, the S3 class is intended for standard-sized rifles (and other weapons with similar power demands), while the S4 class is intended for heavy rifles, typically including sniper rifles, ultralight personal blaster cannons, and yet more. Finally, the S5 class is designed for full-sized blaster and light laser cannons, akin to an E-Web or a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon.

The next size classes are generally intended for vehicle or starship-grade weaponry (though exceptions may apply). The S6 class is designed for standard-sized laser cannons, while the S7 class is meant for heavy laser cannons and light turbolasers. Finally, the S8 class is intended for medium and heavy turbolasers, while the S9 and S10 classes are intended for light, medium, and heavy starship grade artillery weapons, which are often the primary armaments of capital ships.

All in all, the FAE/AM-01 is hoped to revolutionize the market for energy weapon cartridges. With their small form factor, weapon cooling capability, and universal feeds and adapters, the FAE/AM-01 cartridges are positioned to capture the market.
