Family Matters

[member="Darth Timoris"]

Taeli gave Melori a smile and walked forward to give her a hug, but ever the cautious individual, she kept her Force senses attuned for any sign of duplicity. Holding her sister tightly, and glad she could even if she was being cautious, Taeli knew that there was still a chance their family could get fixed and actually get along.

"You might think you could kill me, little sis, but a true Sith never reveals everything they know to their pupil ... and that held true for me too," Taeli laughed. "If we do end up competing for something, I'll be sure to give you a proper run for your money."

Melori chuckled. "Funny that, I thought the Master was supposed to share all they knew. That's the Banite way. Otherwise each succeeding generation grows weaker and weaker."

"And anyway, I had more than one Master, so I learned a few tricks of my own."

She kept the hug going. "So I intend to share everything I know with my apprentices. I hope they exceed me one day. Not to kill me, but to further the cause of the Sith."

"You would think, but remember that Bane always held back his true skill with a lightsaber and Zannah held back how much she had learned about Sith sorcery," Taeli said, still holding her sister. "Bane founded an order based on guile, and while the Master must teach the apprentice a lot, they need to keep something in reserve for that inevitable clash with the apprentice."

Melori nodded. Keeping something in reserve would serve her well she believed. She would achieve little, if anything by herself, so she would have to ally herself to a group sooner or later. But which one?

The underdog that might topple the goliath? Or the behemoth that could be guided subtly over time? She smiled. She was no traitor. She was as loyal to the Dark Lord today as she'd ever been. That much she knew. Now if the One Sith could only see the benefit of the ways of Bane?

It was a thought - no more. But a seed planted none the less. "Understood and most sensible. Our meeting has been most enlightening, more than you'll ever know."

She finally let go of her sister. "So...what's next for us both? Decisions, decisions."

"For you, I can't really say," Taeli said with a shrug. "For myself, I'm continuing on my journey. Not sure if I want to go learn from the Shapers of Kro Var next or the Aing-Tii ... guess I'll need to flip a coin. Whatever you decide to do though sis ... please be careful. If you're ever in trouble, you know how to contact me and I'll be there to help ... as long as you aren't killing and burning Jedi."

It was true too, she would always be there to help her sister if she ever needed it. Family came first before Force orders and other duties.

Melori kissed her sister and gave her another hug. "Maybe family is family," she said softy. "But for now I need to sort my head out. Focus on what I'm good at and see what comes up. Burn some bridges and build others perhaps? But nothing in haste."

And she wandered back to her ship. Turning before she walked up the ramp, she gave her sister a smile. "Thanks. I probably never said it before and spent too long focused on reasons to hate you lately. So it needed to be said."

And then she walked into her ship and contemplated her future.

Accepting the hug and kissing her sister's forehead, Taeli just gave a small smile and said, "I certainly hope you figure out what is you want to do with your life and your abilities."

As Melori started to walk away, Taeli turned introspective about what her sister just might do. She was a Sith, through and through, but that wasn't truly shocking to her at all. Some people were just born to eventually fill that role, but maybe Melori would stick to the Banite theory and there wouldn't be too much death and destruction tied to her name.

"No thanks is necessary, you're my sister," Taeli said simply before Melori disappeared up the ramp of her ship. Well this little meeting had gone better than she had expected it to go. No fighting, no dying, not even raised voices for the most part. Walking back to her own ship, she needed to decide on the next place to go for her and Connor when he linked up with her again.
