Fate and the Force

Akodya Mune

Her new master blocked her attack with ease, their blades crashing together and spitting light of green and blue. His gaze was locked on hers, his eyes challenging her to push herself. Akodya stood her ground, gripping her hilt with two hands she put all her strength into the lock, fighting for dominance.

The pairs foreheads were almost touching at this point. As a smirk formed on Josh's face a scowl appeared on Akodya's. He looked so damn SMUG. was he even trying that hard at all? her hazel eyes were ablaze as she struggled to break the lock. Maybe she could stamp on his foot or something? no this was a clean fight...

Josh's brown eyes showed no intimidation as his eyes stayed locked with hers. He didn't let up and kept the lock, but to drive home a bit of pressure to see how she handles the situation, he started to press a little harder... His superhuman strength making this saber lock incredibly easy for DragonsFlame, who simply kept up the smirk as he put on the pressure. Not too much, didn't want to scare her too much after all, but enough to force her to control herself or risk getting beat right then and there.

Josh patiently waited for her next move...

It was clear he was far stronger than her physically and if she continued to try and break the lock this way she would tire and he'd win. Her eyebrows furrowed as she saw his smirk widen, the light illuminating from her blade highlighted her frustrated features. Akodya knew he was silently testing her and her abilities of control. He was TRYING to infuriate her. She refused to give him that sense of satisfaction. Removing one hand from her hilt she she thrusted her palm in his direction sending a invisible but powerful surge of force energy at him, in attempt to push him away and give her some distance.

"I'm sorry master, my blade skills are poor." She yelled, smirking a little.

Josh smirked a bit as he reeled back from the push. He hadn't planned on using the Force in this duel, but every action has a reaction...

And with that, Josh did her one better, thrusting his free palm forward that sent her flying into the wall via a Force Push. He waited patiently to see how quick she got up, and if the reaction deterred her confidence at all...

Akodya recovered from the slam had an alarming rate, having been used to heavy knocks. She HAD been doing missions solo all of her years of being a padawan. As the years rolled by Akodya had grown very reliant on her force abilities rather then her skills with a blade.

Dashing toward her master once more Akodya waited until she had built up some speed before crouching down and skidding towards him, taking a swipe at his unprotected legs.

Josh didn't normally use a Force Push as hard as that during training sessions, but the reason for this one had been to see how she could handle the feeling of being unmatched, and still be able to control herself and push on. And to his joy, she got right back up and went after him again, no matter how unmatched she was or how bleak the situation looked.

But his focus quickly turned to the Padawan swiping at him after gaining a measure of speed. Drawing into the Force for support in the air, Josh quickly backflipped in response, landing on his feet, a grin on his face. So far, the test had been a success...

He held out his free hand and motioned with his fingers for her to come at him once again, without a word between spoken on the Knight's part.

Again, she failed to hand a hit on him. Turning back to her Master with her eyes alight with determination, she switched to a backhanded grip on her saber. She had to get at least ONE touch on the blond. Even if it was small.

With that same smirk on his face, he beckoned her to him, once again challenging Akodya.

"Master, that smile of yours is beginning to grow very frustrating." She muttered.

Josh smirked as he watched her carefully, waiting for her to make a move... A playful grin on his face, just waiting for her to either keep her composure and strike properly, or lose it and strike rashly.

It was a simple game. But one that would teach her well.

Akodya was beginning to grow anxious. It was clear she wasn't going to beat him, so what was the point? If she were in a real fight, she'd be dead by now. Taking another shot at striking her master down, trying to stab him from behind.

"Patience.... Control..." He commanded as he parried her attack without even looking, instead favoring using the Force to see what was behind him and blocking her attacks from there. He doubted she'd be able to see the defense coming, and he decided it was time to throw a curveball to see how well she would follow his advice.

He swung his saber hard enough to break her guard, before suddenly turning around, eyes wide, and letting out a scream of "BOO!"

Again he blocked each blow she dealt, master and padawan falling into a dance.

block, block, swing, block.

Breaking the rhythm of the fight Master DragonsFlame threw a an unexpected curveball at her. She was to close to move out of the way in time, so it resulted into slamming her in the gut and forcing her to the ground. As her back collided with the hard temple floor she let out a tiny wheeze as pain surged up her spine. With her hand still curled around the saber she stumbled as she rose to her feet, returning to her regular back handed starting stance.

Josh chuckled. She hadn't been fazed by the scream, but the shot that had been meant to knock her saber away to prep for the scream had connected. She'd kept her control, but didn't keep her guard up enough to keep Josh from improvising and getting her in the gut.

He watched as she rose to her feet, nodding a bit with a slight smirk. "Good, good" he said. "One more round" he added as he spun his blade a bit, seeing if she would focus on the blade or dismiss his showing off for him lowering his guard...
