SPECIAL FEATURES
Force Dampening Latticework operates by generating a localized field of harmonic interference that distorts the metaphysical energy flows of the Force. At its core, the system uses a web of voidstone-infused microfilaments arranged in a calibrated geometric matrix, controlled by a quantum-phase harmonics controller. These components emit a low-frequency oscillation tuned specifically to disrupt the subtle interactions between a Force-sensitive being and the ambient Force field around them. The oscillation doesn't block the Force entirely like a ysalamir might, but it scrambles a user's ability to focus or harness it, causing everything from mild disorientation to complete nullification depending on intensity. This effect has been described by Jedi as akin to "wading through static" or "reaching for something that isn't there."
The lattice can be embedded in multiple platforms—walls, armor plating, or specialized restraints—allowing its use in various environments. When activated, the lattice produces a ten-foot-radius dampening field, which can operate in two primary modes. In passive mode, the field creates metaphysical turbulence, making Force powers sluggish, erratic, or difficult to control. In active mode, the harmonic feedback becomes so strong that it can momentarily sever an individual's ability to draw on the Force at all within the field. This field does not cause physical harm, but it renders Force-based abilities such as telekinesis, precognition, mind tricks, and enhanced reflexes almost entirely inert. The effectiveness is strongest within close proximity to the emitter and weakens toward the edge of the radius.
The entire assembly is protected by a cortosis-aluminum weave outer layer, which resists lightsaber strikes and energy damage—ensuring the integrity of the system even under duress. Due to the volatile nature of Force disruption, the lattice must be finely tuned for each use case.
- Emits a harmonic interference field that disrupts Force-based abilities
- Can be scaled for armor, special binders, or small detention cells
- Multiple intensity levels: passive (turbulence within ten-foot radius) to active (nullification within ten-foot radius)
- Protective cortosis-aluminum weave to offer limited lightsaber resistance and energy deflection
- Force Suppression: Actively disrupts the use of Force abilities within its field of effect, hindering Jedi/Sith powers like telekinesis, mind tricks, and precognition.
- Scalable & Modular: Can be deployed in varying sizes and configurations, from single-person cells to large interrogation chambers.
- Lightsaber-Resistant Shell: The cortosis-aluminum weave offers limited resistance against lightsaber strikes, providing basic defense against sabotage or forced entry.
- Non-biological Solution: Unlike ysalamiri-based fields, this system is fully technological, allowing for broader use without the need for live organisms.
- High Power Demand: Requires a steady and substantial power source to maintain stability, especially in large-scale deployments.
- Expensive Materials: Components like voidstone and cortosis alloys are rare and costly, limiting widespread use.
- Not Absolute: Exceptionally powerful Force users may resist partial suppression, especially in passive mode.
- Heavy: When worn, adds weight and power draw to the armor it is utilized in.
