Feeding My Tea Addiction

Ah Bakura. The sight of much activity from outsiders as of late. A military experiment and attack, followed by large quakes that snuffed out many lives. But things were getting better and life was returning back to normal. Finally.

Lady Kay had arrived with her security detail consisting of eight soldiers. She was slowly getting used to the idea of having them around. Slowly. At the moment she figured that it looked a little bit silly with her dressed like a merchant, wandering the forest with soldiers keeping watch. But she needed to replenish her supply of Sapir leaves for her tea addiction. At least she knew where to look.

Maybe she should open up her own tea house? Help spur the economy? Oh but she would be her own best customer as she didn't know of anyone else that loved tea as much as she did. When enough leaves were gathered, she bundled them up with some string and hung them from her satchel to dry. Then with a nod to her security, she headed back into the small town. Most would probably go to a bar or something, but instead, Kay just went into the park and sat at one of the tables. Moments later she had some tea brewing, the fragrance of it wafting to the street. Convincing her security to stand down or at least at ease wasn't an easy task. Her boss had selected these individuals for a reason. One day she'll be glad for it. One day.

For now though she just enjoyed the beautiful day and sipped her most precious tea, ignoring the soldiers as they kept their trained eyes on everyone that passed them by.

( Her security: http://starwarsrp.net/topic/60139-darksteel-dragons/ )

Theseus was borrowing a ship again... after the tragedy that occurred to the last one. He had to use, a little extra persuasion. Now he happened to be on Bakura. Which was more of for a personal reason. As Theseus was on the hunt for tea. He loved tea, not as much as his other hobbies. Though it'd been awhile since he had a cup so it was time to get a supply of tea leaves and get to work. There was only one problem. He didn't own these tea leaves, and he wasn't quite aware someone had claim to them.

Theseus had begun harvesting some leaves when he looked about and noticed some heavily armed men point him out. Wonderful, just when he thought for once he'd find peace, in a manner as harmless as trying to gather ingredients to brew tea. Trouble managed to find it's way to him. Well, Theseus was considering whether he could combat these guys. Then he noticed a lady that the men seemed to be protecting, and upon sensing that she might have some force sensitivity Theseus calculated the odds of him winning a conflict would be next to none. Primarily because he still had yet to acquire a light saber. These men were heavily armed, and they had another force sensitive at their disposal... or was it vice versa, the force sensitive had these men at her disposal? Well he was about to find out as the men walked up and demanded the return of the Sapir leaves. Hesitantly Theseus handed them over to the men. From there they went about to standing next to him and dragging him back towards the woman.

Theseus bit back a growl. As he wasn't quite pleased at temporarily being acquired as prisoner. Though he didn't have the choice as he noticed that a lot of these men appeared to be looking for anything out of the ordinary. That might indicate hostility and would result in them incapacitating that individual. Currently Theseus happened to be on the list of potential dangers apparently. As he was brought to the lady and the bag of tea leaves he'd acquired was handed over towards her. "Um... sorry about that. I wasn't aware that the leaves had a claim on them" Theseus said hesitantly to whoever the lady was. She appeared to be drinking a cup of tea, and Theseus assumed that she must indeed be the one in charge here.

Kay frowned a little as the approached. But she wasn't frowning at the newcomer. On the contrary, she was frowning at her security. "Captain, really? Did you really have to do that?" She turned her eyes to the young man and refused to take the bag. "I'm sorry about that, sir. I have no claims here. The leaves grow in the wild. Please forgive these men for they are a bit....overprotective."

She gestured for the young man to have a seat across from her, despite whatever rejections the Captain had. "Please accept my apology and perhaps a cup of tea? It's the least that I can do."

Theseus took a seat as requested and his body relaxed. As he took a sigh and placed his anger back. This lady wasn't so bad it appeared. As Theseus offered her a warm smile. "Could I please have a cup of tea?" he replied as he looked to her and thought a moment. "There needs to be more areas to buy tea." he decided as he smiled a little. Wandering what he should do as he took the bag of tea leaves back. "Anyways, My name is Theseus." he offered to her as he looked to the guard and tilted his curiously. He had to be one of the men in charge. Though this lady appeared to be the boss. As he looked back to her and looked around. He was still getting used to his force powers. Theseus had a strong connection to the force. However he'd been using force conceal for a few years, and had few challenges which tested the extent of his connection. So Theseus had not had the chance to develop any skill past that of a padawan.

Theseus new master was a witch. Which being a dark jedi padawan was unique. Though oddly it worked to his advantage. As Perla happened to be able to teach him the dark side of the force, and that was where he'd specialize. The use of the force and that of stealth. Though Theseus didn't view himself as a bad person. He did know that his anger was the greatest negative aspect of himself, and the pain he had experienced just happened to make dark energy flow through him easier.

She nodded and took out her spare cup from her satchel, pouring the tea for him from her kettle before handing it to him. "Well I guess that someone could open up a tea shop, but I'm not sure how large of a customer base there would be. Besides, I'm rather fond of gathering the leaves myself. It gets me out of ships and into some fresh air."

She was a little hesitant to introduce herself, but more so out of habit. But this was a young man and she had more than enough soldiers watching her back, so she chose to do so anyways. "My name is Lady Kay-Larr. Most just call me Lady Kay, or just simply Kay. Whatever you choose is fine." She smiled and sipped her tea. "I must say that this is the first time that I've had tea leaf competition." Kay didn't attempt to reach out with the Force to get a sense of this man, as she felt that doing so is abusing the Force gift. Plus she didn't want to signal to other Force users that she was there. It could get her unwanted attention. Her security detail were not Force sensitive at all.

He smiled a little as he realized how rude it must of been that he picked up on her force sensitivity. Though he had learned that he couldn't be too cautious in this world. No one could simply be trusted. It left you to open to be stabbed in the back to think that. Which is why Theseus turned to the dark side of the force. Again as he stated he didn't view himself as a evil person. He just connected better to the dark side through his pain and his anger. An example would be that in theory if this lady proved to be a Jedi. He'd be more inclined not to trust her, and he might be motivated to strike her. Though he'd try his best to resist the urge of harming her, and he'd do his best to avoid killing her. As like wise just because she was in tune to the light side of the force didn't mean she was guaranteed to be evil and mean him harm. He just would feel that statistically the odds were highly in that favor.

"Thank you." he said to her as he accepted the tea and began to sip at it. "I enjoy tea." he admitted to her calmly. "Though it's not a hobby in which I spend most of my time." he added as he watched her. "I'd probably be one of the shops more frequent attendants." he admitted and nodded his head. "How long it'd stay open is a certain... uncertainty." he concluded as he looked to her and smiled warmly.

Kay sipped her tea and thought for a moment. Did she have any other hobbies? Hmmm. Outside of reading the Holo News, there was nothing. She didn't have any family nearby, nor any friends. She was just absorbed in her work. And the news coming from the Holo Net wasn't very good as of late. Worlds were being invaded by the very people that she helped to sell arms to and mine materials from. It made her sad that with all the good that she thought they were doing, it didn't counter all the bad that their customers and supporters were doing. So she needed some time to think and reflect.

But doing that was very rude to her guest, so she continued the conversation, trying to get a feel for who he was in the same way that he was doing with her. Both of them were sizing up the other. "So what hobbies do you spend your time on?"

He looked to her and thought about it. "Well I like learning things." he decided as he relaxed back. "Protecting Holocrons." he decided though currently didn't want to go into much detail there. As he wasn't sure if she was trustworthy. He'd been back stabbed by a light sider one time too many, and he wasn't going to make the mistake of letting another person do that so easily. As he relaxed back and hummed a little. He looked around the planet and smiled a bit. He'd be getting his light sabers soon he hoped so that was something to look forwards towards. As he pulled out three stones and cast them into the air. Where he in an absent minded manner, began to move the stones into a circle above his palm. As he began to meditate and sip his tea. Though he was a dark jedi, that didn't mean he chose to not keep some of the teachings he had. As Theseus believed that though emotions helped. The true key was finding balance, and keeping knowledge of all sorts. Whether you can practically apply that knowledge or not.

He hummed softly as he finished the cup of tea. Then stretched and looked around. "Well if you like, we could part our ways, or we could spend some more time together." he suggested as he smiled warmly to her. He wasn't opposed to the idea of better knowing this person. As always there was the small hope that she'd perhaps turn out to be a trustworthy person. Even if Theseus actively strove to suppress that part of him. As betrayal was what turned Theseus to the dark side. He hoped in that small part of himself that sometime he could learn to be able to tell her things. That some people might kill him over for coming out honest. Like the secret organization he worked for, or the fact he was a dark jedi.

Kay observed him, especially when he showed a little of his Force ability. She had made it a habit not to show off her own powers as she didn't want to abuse it and didn't finish her training yet. Though she's had practice, usually when she was by herself.

She sipped her tea. He was a bit unusual, but a gentleman too and that was usually a good sign. "You may stay. I am not really going anywhere at the moment." Kay then leaned forward towards him and spoke just above a whisper. "Protecting Holocrons, you say? There are many that would want the secrets that a Holocron can provide. I suggest not mentioning about them, even here. You never know who might be listening."

[member="Lady Kay"]

Theseus was a little startled as she leaned close to him. Not ridiculously close though enough that it was beyond the personal bubble Theseus had. As some of the stones wobbled and Theseus about launched them towards her forehead. Not because she was a threat as much as the gesture came unexpectedly and Theseus' reflexes were screaming that she meant him harm. So Theseus had to force his will to combat it. When she whispered her thoughts Theseus relaxed and the stones straightened out as he listened to her opinion of protecting the holocrons. Though her words were true. Theseus didn't plan to go much more into detail anyways. Not because she was a bad person as much as he was still trying to figure her out. So, she had nothing to worry about. Though it did impress Theseus that she happened to have some concern for these important devices. Though that also made him wary, wondering if she was trying to mislead him.

Though either way Theseus decided to relax back in his chair. "I suppose there's no reason to hurry about." Theseus replied regarding her offer for him to stay. As he looked around and studied her guards. He wandered about each individual and was tempted to invade their thoughts. Though he resisted the urge. As it was not proper, these men were not his enemy and he would not cross that boundary unless necessary. Therefore Theseus tapped his fingers against the table nervously.

Kay sat back as the stones moved in a not so pleasant way. Her leaning up to him had clearly bothered him. "Sorry if I scared you." Of course she didn't scare him, but she could tell that she made him nervous with that. She sipped her tea. It was rather odd that a Darksider seemed so jumpy. Maybe it was her guards?

"Are you affiliated with any groups? Or do you work alone?" Whatever answer he had, it didn't really matter. She was making small talk and learning about him.

[member="Lady Kay"]
"My apologies, I didn't mean to react so ferociously." he replied to her as he kept leaned back and watched her closely now. So he didn't allow himself to be startled like that again. As it had almost cost one or more people's lives over something silly. Then again most deaths were done for something silly and when one thought closely about it, pointless. Though that was human nature, to find the right way to do the wrong things. Theseus was a good example of this. He turned to the dark side of the force, after a lightsider had betrayed him. The wrong action for what appeared to be the right reasons. "If you're wandering my jumpiness comes from bad experiences in my past." He explained the odd trait to her as he looked around and thought a moment.

"Well I'm part of a few groups. A religious group is the one I'm most commonly associated with." Theseus decided to reply to her question now. "My actions mostly however are by my own choice, and I do wander off by myself. I suppose it's to both find excitement as well as find myself." He admitted as he looked to her. "Might I ask you a favor?" Theseus decided he wanted to try something. Which would offer a bit of insight of what sort of person she was. Though he wasn't going to do it without her permission. As it was a trick Theseus had as an off product of his master's teachings.

She gave him a small smile before having another sip of her tea. No apology was necessary, but it was nice all the same. As he spoke of religion though, she looked down to the table for a moment. She had read many stories of religious fanatics doing extreme things in the name of whichever God or Goddess they claimed to serve. There were even some that had a religious dedication to the Force and that caused them to do extreme things to. But Kay was a different sort. She had no religion to speak of and her talents in the Force were just gifts, just as some were gifted at being good marksmen, or good at swordplay, she was good at healing and diplomacy.

Kay tilted her head to the side a bit and raised a brow as he asked her for a favour. Hmmm. It was a little strange, but of course she was open for him to ask whatever he wished. It was up to her on whether or not to accept it or not. "By all means, ask away."

He thought about how he could use a technique while not fully influencing or invading her mind. As he knew that it would be too much to ask for. After all they barely knew each other. Though that was why he was searching to use a technique to discover what type of person she was. Finally he figured on which one he would go with as he looked to her. "May I use force empathy on you?" he asked her curiously. There, a technique which didn't innately allow him to pick up and dig through the privacy of her mind and thoughts. Though one which would allow him to sense her emotions, and get a better sense of what her personality was and whether she was someone he could trust and even possibly befriend given time.

He tilted his head a little. Plus, it would give him a sense of ease. As he'd be less inclined to react instinctively towards a person who he better knew. Even if it was a little background of the person. As well as some of their personality. One can generally use a person's past to better understand there future. A person who killed senselessly was more likely to kill in the future for sport, then a person with a pacifistic background. Though one always had to be wary of the unusual cases.

Kay blinked as she tried to recall what Force Empathy was. Did she ever have it used on her before? Maybe. But at the moment she just couldn't remember. But it wasn't as though she had much of anything to hide, so without being silent for too long, she nodded. "You may. Though I'm not entirely sure what it is that you wish to find."

She had another sip of her tea and just relaxed. When Theseus would use the technique, he would discover her top layer of emotions which contained happiness for actually sharing a cup of tea and having a nice chat. Deeper than that was her worry for what the future held as there were so many non Force users out there that distrusted the ones that could use the Force. So she kept her abilities hidden from most. And then finally further down he would pick up on her heartache for the murder of her husband, his self sacrifice to save her and their adopted children. Part of her died that day when he was killed in front of her and sometimes those memories haunted her in her dreams.

Theseus focused and thought how to do this best. As he extended his thoughts out towards her. As he tried to pick up on the emotions she had. At first Theseus picked up a warm sensation. One brief moment and wow, she really wasn't hidden when she said tea was a love of her's. Though then it suddenly faded and was replaced by worry. Theseus blinked and tilted his head as he wondered what troubled her so much. This type of worry was deep and likely one that would always remain. From there things become slightly murky and Theseus for the sake of her privacy decided to move past that. As part of him didn't want to know why it was murky. Some things just shouldn't be understood.

Then Theseus moved onto the pain, and it was mixed. There was something light amongst the darkness. Though again Theseus couldn't make it out. As Theseus quickly stopped using the empathy and placed his hand to his forehead. "You're trust-able." Theseus decided as he shook his head a little. He tilted his head a little and studied her. "There's a wound there though. What it is, is not my business. I regrettably can promise it will never be healed, though it will become further endurable. As I believe wounds are given to only those strong enough to bare them. Even if they aren't aware of it. Only so that they may use it to be the strength of others." he replied to her.

Kay knew that she could be trusted. Almost everyone knew that. It was how she gained so many friends and allies. Well okay, that was just part of it. The other part was her gift of influence which she didn't know that she had. It had been such a common thing for her to make friends and allies wherever she went, that she didn't think anything of it. But those at the Academy saw the danger in such a gift and it was half of the reason that she was exiled.

She sipped her tea as he spoke of the wound that would never heal. She knew exactly what he was talking about. Theseus telling her that it will become more bearable brought a small smile to her face. It was true. As she had left a life of isolation and started participating in the goings on in the Galaxy, she had less time to dwell on her past. And that was a good thing.

Kay was curious about his motives for doing what he did. "Why check and see if you could trust me? Are you in need of help with something?"

"I have been back stabbed before, and it's a mistake I swore I would never make again. Therefore I needed reassurance." he replied to her calmly as he sighed. "This was the reassurance and I am hoping you don't prove my analysis wrong." he admitted calmly. As he gave her a smile. Though it was one that reflected his unsure feelings, and even a slight hint of fear, of the past repeating itself. Though then it was gone as Theseus drug himself to the present. Then seemed to be in a much happier mood. As he reached out and offered her the cup back. "There you go. Again thank you for the tea." he said as he even seemed to be more calm now. He honestly felt she was no harm else wise he wouldn't be so calm around her.

Theseus thought about his plans and he looked at the guards. Then took out a piece of parchment and jotted some things down. As he stood up and stretched. "I must bid fair well for now. I hope we meet again soon." he said to her. As he turned to head off. On the note he had written. He had left her with a small list of instructions. ~Find me at the local cantina, I am always located in the far back corner where I can remain a shadow. Please, bring nobody with you. Though if you must bring only men who you would trust with the most sacred of information. Destroy note after reading it.~

Kay put down her own cup and then took his, setting it down as she rinsed it out a bit with some of her water rations. She bowed her head to him. "We have all been double-crossed by someone. But try not to get you to paint everyone with the same brush. It was lovely to meet you. I am sure that our paths will cross again in time."

She watched him go and then read the note. How interesting and mysterious. Hmmm. As instructed, Kay ripped up the note into tiny pieces. She then added a bit of water to it and started to form little balls with it. Soon after that she flicked them in various directions. The little paper balls were so small that they hid easily in the grass. A good rainfall should help them dissolve.

She finished her tea and then remained for a few minutes longer, rinsing her cup and packing it up. "Time to go, gentlemen." Of course she was speaking to her guards, but instead of going with them, she just walked over to them, satchel slung over her shoulder. "I think that you all can take a break for a little bit. I'll be fine and won't cause any trouble. I promise." Would they believe her? Probably not.

Kay soon headed into town to the cantina. She needed something else to eat besides food rations. And that was a perfect spot. It was also where she suspected that Theseus had mentioned in his note.

Theseus as promised had headed towards the Cantina located in the town. As he had said he had took a seat in the far back corner. Where with the colors of his robe. He perfectly blended into a shadow. As he looked about and explored the area. He was quite pleased by the design of the building. It provided him with the ability to practically see everyone who happened to be in the building, from the corner he was in. Which was a strategic advantage, a downside was... it was a corner. Meaning the only other place to go was out the way he came, or he'd be forced to create his own escape route.

Theseus did hope the lady followed his instructions. He planned to have a quiet meal here. Then go to a place that would be more suitable for talking. Which would mean no people at all. As he looked around suspiciously. Anyone to Theseus' that was not Lady Kay was a potential threat. So Theseus didn't plan to let his guard down for even a second.
