Private Feral

Wretched Vampire
Rayth tiltired the vial back and forth. He frowned.

"How will I get..."

That must have been a stupid question. Clearly he was supposed to know how to get blood in a vial.

Rayth wouldn't close his eyes to focus. Not here. The academy was too dangerous to ever let his guard down. They narrowed as he tried to focus on the strength it brought him.

It was hard to do. Feeding was like breathing. It just was.

"Touch a bleeding wound with the vial and it will absorb the blood. You'll have to keep contact for a while to fill it completely, if the body has enough left anyway." Whether he was supposed to or not, she explained it. It wasn't the normal type of vial after all. But now he was focusing. Good. She raised a hand, letting the sphere of Anima form again. "Focus on this. Feel what this is. Understand what makes it different. Then focus inward on your own maw."

He would need to hunt. If Reprimar brought him another prisoner then Rayth wouldn't be able to fill the vial without the Sith Lord or his orderly noticing.

Rayth kept the vial clasped in his hand, with the chain wrapped around it. He narrowed his eyes and focused on the sphere over Alina's hand.

It was blood. He was drawn to it. Could almost taste it.

There was more. Just beyond the physical. The place beyond his peripheral vision where everything changed. Rayth closed his eyes.

"The Force," Rayth said. "It moves around it...like it moves around you."

"That's what Anima is. The Force. The living portion of it, anyway. Now focus on yourself. Feel this flowing inside you. Focus it into your arms, your legs, your body. It'll make you far stronger and faster than any without our gift."

Again, the sphere faded as Alina shifted her stance. Brought her hands up into tight fists. Shock boxing, by all appearances. It's what she'd learned early on as an Acolyte. "Strengthen your body, so I don't just break you." Then she stepped forward. Anima surged through her body as she practically appeared in front of him, swinging a quick punch for his jaw. Nothing to knock his head off, but the goal was to get him to use his own Anima to react.

"Wai..."

With his focus turned inwards he had started to touch the flow of power he could feel coursing through his veins.

It offered enough clarity to see Alina close the distance on him, but not enough to react.

Rayth was caught across the jaw. It jarred him, span his world and he tagged back and dropped to one knee.

He shook his head, glaring back up at Alina and baring his teeth.

Now he was drawing from that power, but not in a controlled manner. Anger burned it quickly. He was a caged animal, backed into a corner by the first person to genuinely understand him.

"Don't loose yourself so much to that anger you turn to a beast, boy."

Alina's eyes narrowed as she stared down at the Sangnir. Perhaps punching him wasn't the best course of action given how he reacted. But she'd always been a punch first, think about it later sort of girl. At least he was pulling on that power. His power.

"Focus. Feel the strength Anima gives you."

Rayth was still snarling as she spoke to him. The changes in posture were small. Tension slowly unwinding. He heard the words, but it was a few more seconds before he was able to speak.

"You're too fast," he replied.

Rayth kept brought his hands up, ready to shield his face. He drew himself back up to his feet, watching her carefully.

Rayth closed his mouth and stopped barring his fangs like an animal.
