Fight to the Death (Darth Vornskr vs. Darth Ares)

Darth Ares entered the stadium. The grass was green and untouched, but soon this would all change. He seeked power and to gain power you must be willing to lose it, you must be willing the sacrifice everything even your life for it. Darth Ares had confronted a powerful Dark Lord, one more powerful than his masters, but this meant power and so he had no choice. He smirked as he continued his walk into the arena unhooking his light armor vest and dropping it as he continued on. He took off his two swords and tossed away one lightsaber. He reached the middle and took in hand his last weapon, a crimson lightsaber. He was born into battle with this very lightsaber and if he proved unable to grasp this power today, then he would die with it in hand. The suns above his head annoyed him as rage built within him. He lifted a hand and twisted it as the Force reached high into the air to cause chaos. Like a flash, clouds that had not been there began to swirl high above him and grow. He had practice this for a long time and still had not mastered it, but it was enough for his purposes. The clouds filled the sky and created a dry storm with lightning crashing around and even in the arena. Ares had not control where the lightning struck and it would make this fight even more deadly as you would have to be aware of the storm and your oppodent, like a infatry being aware of a wall of archers. Ares waited with his lightsaber not ignited and watched the opening where the other would enter. His heart beat a million miles pure hour, but his face smiled with the war tht was about to happen.

A mak'gora was an orcish duel to the death in the franchise of Warcraft, and had no place, meaning, or relevance within the universe of Star Wars. Thus, Darth Vornskr was quite confused when he finally arrived at the designated arena of battle with his iconic armor and Sith runesword to find that his opponent was wearing only meager scraps of clothing and held only a single weapon. Did he expect the Epicanthix Sith Lord to face him in an honorable duel, like some foolish knight in shining armor? No, no, no, that was not how the Voice of the Dark Lord fought, he fought to win and would not hesitate to use all options and resources available to him if it benefited him. Honor would only weigh you down and get you killed, and that was not Vornskr's way at all.

To this end he was dressed in his intimidating "Tyrant" armor, which covered the six foot nine, two hundred and forty-eight pound Sith Lord's shoulders, chest, arms, forearms, groin, legs, and feet with resilient phrik plating. Underneath his fearsome armor he wore a durasteel hauberk, and under that he wore a thin vest of leather along with a pair of leather trousers. Unlike the rest of his armor, his gauntlets were not made of phrik, but rather made out of beskar. They were a pair of Mandalorian crushgaunts that he had looted off of the corpse of a fallen mongrel and he had the Sith Lord, Warren Valik, twist and enhance them to the tyrant's wishes. They had been altered to drain the living Force in the vicinity around the wearer, and were able to augment his Force abilities and even give him a slight defense again any Force attack sent his way. However; his most powerful weapon sat idly in the brown leather sheath strapped to his side.

It was a Sith Sword of masterful design weighing two-point-five kilograms with a blade length of roughly one-point-two meters, and was blessed with quite an incredible power. This blade, whose name was "Derriphan" the sister-sword of Daesumnor, had the vampiric ability to absorb the souls of those that it's wielder slain in battle. In it's current state it had devoured many souls across several fields of battle, but the majority of those wayward souls were soldiers of the Galactic Republic, Omega Protectorate, and the United Mandalorian Clans. No souls of note or worth had yet been devoured, but perhaps this upstart Sith would be the first of many noteworthy individuals to be consumed by his blade.

Darth Vornskr thundered across what would become the field of slaughter, and in one foul swoop unsheathed his mighty weapon, and leveled it towards [member="Darth Ares"].

"Do you fear death, boy?"

Darth Ares smirked as he saw the armored man and laughed a little at himself at how armored this sith was. This was the problem with sith, they feared death so much they put on lots or armor and shiny things to make themselves seem more powerful. Currently Ares weighed 160 pounds while with all that armor, the sword and his own weight the sith before him weighed 282.412 Lbs which was more than 100 pounds than Ares which would be an advantage this being could not afford to give. Darth Ares was not as powerful as the Sith Lord, but he had two advantages here. He was a master of Vaapad, a dangerous style of lightsaber combat and he was lighter than this being and younger.

"Do you fear death, boy?"

Darth Ares laughed at the suggestion that a man wearing no armor and holding a single lightsaber feared death? This Sith Lord had lost his mind. A force lightning bolt struck near Ares and lit up the right side of his face as his eyes began to glow firey red as the force became his slave and submitted to him. His body began to rage with the manifestation of the dark side consumed his body. Dark lightning surged around his feet and licked the ground. He ignited his crimson blade and smirked once again as the joy of the fight to come and filled him. Vaapad was more than a lightsaber form, it had the ability to use someone's power against them and make the user more powerful. Walking in the Sith Lord met a Sith Knight. Now he would great a Sith Knight who would use the Sith ord to reach his level and use it against him. Darth Ares still did not answer the question. He slowly walked forward, not in fear, but to enjoy every second of this fight, no need to rush. As he got closer the lightning from above began to come down more and was become ever more deadly. Darth Ares could not contain it anymore and he closed the gap between the two. The Sith Lord had guanlets that could absorb force attacks, but not the force in general if it wasn't used as an attack. Ares fell into Vaapad and unleashed it without restraint. His one lightsaber became the arms of the Vaapad and moved so fast in what seemed like sloppy, random movements, but were highly calculated attacks and his one arm and one lightsaber appeared like 8 attacking with precision and thought. This armor before him was power and masterly made, but it was held to the body by leather straps that were hard to see, but not impossible. It was smart because this armor was powerful, but because it was held on in this fashion it provided more mobility, but this was nothing compared to Ares mobility. He used his attacks to keep the Lord busy, but aimed some for the leather straps, he would aim first to remove the armor on the arms.

Vornskr scoffed, and plunged his weapon into the ground as the Knight made his slow advance towards where the Sith Lord was standing. He watched intently as time slowed to a crawl and the knight pushed himself off of the ground and moved to close the distance between the two. Ares was also incorrect about the purpose of the gauntlets, as they only gave a slight defense against the Force when used as an attack, but would constantly drain the Force around the wearer and transfer that stolen Force to empower the wearer's own power. Thus when Ares opened up his barrage of attacks using Form VII: Vaapad, some of that Force used to empower Ares' strikes was stolen and funneled into the Sith Lord. Vornskr then used that energy to erect a powerful bubble-shield around his body to defend against the barrage while Ares' blade would clang and clatter against the shimmering emerald surface.

With plenty of energy left to spare, it was relatively simple for Vornskr to execute his next plan of attack. With one hand firmly gripping the hilt of his Sith Sword, he gingerly touched the fingers of his other hand onto the inner surface of the barrier, and as the Dark Side surged through him like a turbulent river he channeled pure Sith Lightning through the shield. It would first manifest as sparking arcs of energy popping across the outer surface of the barrier, but would quickly escalate to exploding arcs of lightning in all directions from the circular shield to create a massive storm of energy and power that scorched the ground and anything in the nearby vicinity.

Perhaps Ares should have reconsidered charging in so recklessly.

Darth Ares was not angry or surprised by the counter and kept a calm attitude towards the situation. He used his speed to whip at the Lightning coming from the shield to block it with his lightsaber when in reality he was reaching out with his senses. After a moment he moved as he jumped a good 40 feet into the air and tossed his ignited lightsaber even higher. He then quickly drew from the ground his two Sith swords just in time as a lightning bolt came shooting beside him and he put both swords into it. Sith swords were natoruoues in absorbing and storing force lightning and once they reached their limit they would release it in a violent explosion. The powerful lightning storm easily filled them and he then released them like missiles out of a cannon at the shield bellow in a hope to hit with enough power to reverse it's power and explode on the lord. ares fell back down quickly summoning back his lightsaber to his hand and landing a few yards from the shield softly. Ares remained looking at the shield and still whip in at lightning to defend it. His body showed no signs of damage and his resolve was not wavered. Ares remained in a crouched stance keeping his body close to the ground with one leg bent under him as the other outward, a stance that would come in handy if he was attacked. He looked at the bubble with murderous intent.

The impact between the surface of the shield and the two charged Sith Swords would result in a tremendous burst of kinetic energy and fire that would scorch the immediate area and set it ablaze. It would've taken more to actually burst the bubble that surrounded the Sith Lord, but he had no intentions of just sitting there and allowing Ares to beat and batter against the wall of his defenses, despite how amusing that might be to watch. Rather, he moved in with the explosion that enveloped the outer surface of the bubble, pushing it away from his immediate self and out into the land around them. As his concentration moved away from maintaining the shield, the bubble faltered and began to disappear as the Lord knew it would. He then shifted his will into the ground around them, and set about to create giant fissures by gripping large sections of stone and dirt with the Force and wrench them from their place in the earth.

Such an act would send debris spewing upward, and creating a cloud of dust and grime that would cover the entire arena floor. While Vornskr was not as talented in this aspect of the Force as Shorn or Siobhan, he could still perform several incredible feats with telekinesis when the situation called for it. Thus he used what he could to cause a massive upheaval of the ground around them in part to perhaps force Ares to react to the exploding and expanding earth beneath his feet, and to also set himself up for Vornskr's next avenue of assault. With the floor properly wrenched skyward, and a thick cloud of dust covering the land around them obscuring their views to certain degrees, Vornskr muttered a low, hushed incantation as his body shimmered and began to split.

From one Vornskr came four, three of which were identical and life-like illusion doppelgängers and one was the true Vornskr. They would all react in conjunction with the mind and will of the real Vornskr, and all burst out into the gloom to divide and conquer. Which essentially meant that moved in like raptors to flank wherever the Sith Knight had retreated to, and would rush in at him all at once. The three fakes would come in from either side and from the front, while the real copy would come at him from behind. The thick Dark Side presence blanketing the field would most likely make it harder to actually detect which one was the real Sith Lord, although it wasn't impossible for one who devoted time to improving their senses.

Ares was a bit disappointed that his Sith swords didn't break trough, but Ares wasn't doing much at the moment if this was war then Ares was scouting and just toying around to see what the walking corpse could do; he wasn't impressed. He remained bent close to the ground and appeared to not react as he was covered in smoke and vanished. He closed his eyes and reached out with his senses and force sensing was one of the few things he had mastered. As the former leader of the Imperial Knights he had to have acute senses to keep gaird of the Emperor. He easily found the Lord who was using large amounts of the force which would eventually tire him since he was mortal and no god and Ares would conserve his strength. He was shorter then the lord, but most likily physically stronger. The Lord was 6'9" and 249 Lbs which was skinny with little muscle mass for that height while Ares was around 5'10" and 160 which was above weight for the height which meant his muscles weighed more than his height's average. As the smoke enveloped Ares he reached out to the Lord and used Mind Trick which was part of Force Insanity which was one of his mastered powers. Ares jumped from the reading ground and sent a mind trick to make it seemed like he went back farther, but in reality he just landed back in his spot. With his eyes stilled closed he felt the four beings attack an illusion of his own which if they didn't notice they would strike each other. Ares felt his other lightsaber near by and summone it and ignited a second lightsaber. He also felt his armor fall through a crack and was lost, but didn't reall care. He did not move still and merely used Force Insanity again to make it appear his voice was coming from everywhere. "Long ago a boy defeated a giant with a single stone. The boy had something greater in power than the giant, but the giant was arrogant like you and thought because he was so powerful the boy could not bring him down. If you continue like this then you are no better than the giant. Do not let my rank fool you. Most acolytes try to learn a lot and so they are weak as knights, I have learned only a little, but focused it to mastery. If you are going to continue to play then you are a waste of my time , corpse and a waste of your titles."

Ares didn't know much about the Epicanthix very well.

Firstly, Epicanthix are naturally tall and muscular, a genetic advantage that makes an Epicanthix taller and stronger than most Humans just be definition. Behind those plates of phrik were tightly coiled muscles that had been achieved through decades of body training through Vornskr's career as both an intelligence agent for the Empire and a Sith Lord. The Dark Side corruption that afflicted his body gave him the appearance of a brittle corpse, but any who had known him, or fought him, for prolonged periods of time knew that Vornskr was quite physically powerful. The pair of Mandalorian Crushgaunts on both of his hands only further augmented his strength so long as he could get his hands on something. However; that was not the greatest advantage an Epicanthix had in his natural arsenal...

The Epicanthix were immune to exterior mind powers.

Thus when Ares attempted to use Force Insanity, a power that Vornskr had mastered long before Ares was even an acolyte, it wouldn't even affect Vornskr in the slightest. It would hit and slide off the natural immunity of his mind like rain off of a parasol, but Vornskr would have been aware of the attempted penetration of his mind and simply laugh in return.

"A worthy effort, but futile."

Even if his own illusions collided, they would simply pass through one another as they may have the qualities of a life-like individual, but were completely incorporeal. Thus, as they passed through one another, they sped off into the perpetual gloom to reorganize for another strike, although one would not come just yet. They would linger on the edge of vision, like age-old phantoms from a time forgotten. They would mimic the real Vornskr in every action and word spoken, creating a haunting layering of dark voices that would ring across the arena like a tidal wave.

"T̕͡h̨̢͟o̷̕ ͘̕k̶̶͟a͢u͜v̴̨͝d̴͠ l̴͜a͏̨͢a̴̢ḱ̴ ̢v̧u̷͜d̸̨d̡͡h̴̡͘o̕͜k̡͏ ̡͠d͠l̷͘a̵͝n̨ ̶̨d̨h͘͘o̶ ́͜͜k͞o͏́u̷k̶̛ d́l͘ook̛͠.҉̡ ̵N͡à͠͝dh҉̨́a̡̨͝v̵k͏͝ ͏̷k̸l̴o̧uḑ̨͢h̷ơ̕k͜ ̷͠ko͡v̷̢͡oud̡̕ḩ̶͞ h́͝a͡k͟ k̵͝h͟͢u̵̡̕k̡a̵͠͡v̷̧͝.̷"

He spoke in the harsh and guttural language of his people, weaving a dark spell across the battlefield as his own extremely, almost unrivaled mental strength, left the impenetrable confines of his minds and expanded across the battlefield with his own mastered version of Force Insanity combined with his ability to conjure forth life-like illusions. He would attempt to break his way through Ares' mind to summon forth his darkest fears and his dreaded nightmares, although if he was unable to gleam anything substantial from the boy's mind, he would instead conjure forth nightmarish monstrosities from his own imagination and images of those that existed in the world of reality.

Darth Ares, with his eyes still closed watched through the force as the illusion and real Sith Lord passed through one another. It seemed he was dealing with no ordinary Sith Lord, but one of the stronger ones from the fallen Sith Empire. This method was not in vein for Ares has it did tell him they were illusions and not matter and he stored this fact in his mind. He then felt his mind overwhelms and knew the Sith Lord was present in his mind looking for fears or nightmares. This was foolish, Ares was void of fear and nightmares because he was a nightmare. A nightmare not as strong as the Sith Lord, but a nightmare nonetheless. This failed and he used his own powers to push the Sith Lord out. The field then became filled with wisps of nightmares, much like when you first awaken from a nightmare and can only vaugually remember your nightmare. Ares spun both his lightsabers arcing them into double figure 8 arcs as he was preparing to play. He ignored the wisps that were created from the Sith Lord's lack of control over Ares mind, and he focues his attention on the illusions looking for the real Sith Lord. His illusions were almost flawless and had the Sith Lord attacked, Ares might not have had the time to skim through them to find the real one. He reached out further through the Force and focused his mind. He then saw the real Sith Lord. Now it was a matter of getting past his impressive armor that was most likely lightsaber resistant, but how much was the question. Ares quickly jumped and rolled to his right as a lightning bolt came crashing at him. The storm above let lose a bit of furry sending strikes everywhere and a lot of them were focused at the Sith Lord. As Ares dodged the strikes aimed at him he thought for a bit. He then put away one of his lightsabers and waited. His hand began to gather the force into it for something that he was planning.
