Finding the Wayward

Twas just an ordinary on Tatooine. One of the many scumholes of the galaxy Vassara happened to inhabit frequently. As spacer, Rogue and wanted woman she had to keep a low profile. That meant generally staying away from bigger more civilized systems. Unless of course, she was in disguise. Still here she was at a bar, getting quite drunk and enjoying the scene.

It was a seedy little joint, a main stage, a half circle bar on the far end and a set of dull tables and chairs in between the two ends of the room. Walls were your standard mudd hut variety and the lights down low, barely illuminated the smoke that clung to the ceiling. Vassara as here looking for a few people down on their luck.

Really anyone that could qualify as a good co-pilot.

Char-Li entered the bar rather carefully, as if taking in the surrounding area for any sort of hostile intent or job for the Mandalorian. He needed a ride off the dust planet and quick so it wasn't a surprise that when he sat down he immediately ordered a drink to help his wait. The Mando'a didn't take his helmet off however, merely sliding the metallic cup near his body.

He had minimal co-piloting experience which was more than enough for most ships that he touched. He learned quick, flash acceleration was good to him like that. He loved the complexity of the flying science, especially space battles and more technical flying.

"Hey Orek," he said to the bartender, his voice giving off an accent that wasn't native to the lands, "Anyone lookin' for a job?"

The question was normally answered with a no, much like today and with the bartender turning around to leave Char-Li to take his helmet off and take a swig of the entire metallic cup. Same thing, different day.

Vassara spotted the newcomer as he came in. He was pretty conspicuous in that huge armor set of hi. Most folks didn’t carry themselves like that either. Something in her gut stirred, an instinct perhaps? With the force she reached out and cast a wide net, dragging the place. So far there was no sign of any Sith qualities about anyone, which meant he was clear.

Still she remained in her seat, watching the crowd. She had tipped the bartender a couple creds to send prospects her way. Now she would just wait, and see if anyone came by...

Char-Li decided to try his luck on being proactive. So with that being thought of in his mind, he went over to each table, actually asking for work after sliding his helmet on. His voice was a bit muffled and distorted by the voice emitter. He eventually made it to Vassara's before leaning against it and asking the same thing.

"Mam, do you happen to have work for me? Possibly one that could land me on another planet or system?"

He was polite about asking too, not showing one bit of tiredness or any sort of ignorance.

(( This is my first actual RP post on here, so be gentle. ))

Zareh entered the place, immediately expanding her mind with the Force to get a general feel for the room. To anyone who would examine her, she would radiate the dark side. She wore a tight fitting outfit, with a loose jacket, and no visible weapons. As she entered, she took a seat at the bar, ordering a very cheap drink. She had hoped to get a drink in peace, and would act as such. She did not make any eye contact with anyone as she entered, just heading straight to the bar.

She took a small sip from her drink, before turning around to get a good look at the place. Zareh threw a half-cocked smile on, seemingly to fit in with the place before taking another sip of the drink.

Vassara gave the man another once over. He looked like the warrior type. Could be useful. She nodded, and waved towards a chair.

"Might be so, have a seat buddy."

Icy blue eyes peered at him from beneath her midnight hair, examining his body language, reading into what was going on with him. A little prickle in her gut alerted her to a dark presence that had entered the room. Quickly her eyes darted about and her right hand went reflexively up to her shotgun handle at her back.

She paused, combing the room still.

"Tell me about yourself traveller. Where exactly are you hoping to go, what’s your name and what's your skillset?"

"Thank you," he replied before taking the seat and sitting with a small militaristic demeanor that wasn't all too common with all Mandalorians dawning his type of armor. In fact, not many if that none wore his type of Beskar'gam. He nodded before taking his helmet off, brushing a bit of hair from his forehead.

"I'm Char-Li, I know basic piloting skills and have heavy experience in combat using blasters and hand to hand. And as to where I'm going, it wouldn't matter so long as it's off planet."

That was simple right?

He felt a distance force, not from the force itself but from a small hunch or feeling. He turned around as took in a woman who had just arrived before turning back to Vassara. "Now how about you?"

(It's cool Zareh, just do your best and you'll fit right in :D)

She watched the two from across the room, spinning the liquid inside her drink by rotating the glass repeatedly. She didn't move from her spot as she watched, just finishing her drink and ordering a new one. She watched their reactions, and snirked lightly. They knew something was amiss, and that might be cause for a little bit of fun later. But for now, she had decided, to go back to drinking.

Vassara nodded. He sounded solid, much like many of the folks she used to run with. In fact he could be a good addition to the Underground. If he was anti Sith that was. No matter she would soon find out what she wanted to know. when he asked about her she smiled. Her resume was long, too long to list here but she figured she'd give him a good earful.

"Vassara Raxis, Captain of the Gypsy Caravan and Void Runner. Former Warden of the Expeditionary Fleet, Current Warden of the Void, Silver Jedi, Covenant, Roberts Rangers and Underground operative. I have my hands in a lot of pots so to speak."

The nagging darkside presence was still here, still pulsing from across the room. Slowly Vassara's senses began to home in on Zareh.

"I need a Pilot Mr. Luzerei, almost full time. The fact that you're solid with that rifle too is a plus. I can get you anywhere you want to go, but tell me. What are your thoughts on Sith?"

"Sith? Hate em worse than the people that put me in carbonite." His face gave a bit of disgust but it quickly faded away to show his professionalism. "But I have no real grudge against them, but I refuse business. I don't kill for them nor the jedi, either; no credits will change that. If they don't attack me, I won't murder them."

That was truth too, not that anything he said wasn't. He looked down to his hands, then to the metal cup he brought over before downing the rest of its contents. The burn lingered in his throat before dissipating.

"Something wrong?" He asked, tilting his head at her reaction. "Also a Warden? You don't entirely look the part, no offense. I guess that's what gives you the part."

Zareh sat at the table, enjoying her drink, when a strange man walked up to her. He sat in the seat next to her as she finished her drink, and went to get up. His hand on her arm stopped her movement, and she turned to see what he wanted. He, very drunkenly, went to pull her close to him. She resisted, jerking her arm away from him. This movement would draw some attention from those in the bar, as she went to stalk away. He followed her, and grabbed her arm tighter, going to jerk her to face him. This proved to be a mistake for the man, as she grabbed his arm, twisted his body around, and slammed his face into a nearby table. Blood sprayed from the impact, and the likely broken wound, as she stared at the man she had just slammed down. She would have a quick spike of anger, as she slammed the man, most likely making a beacon to anyone force-sensitive.

"You are correct. I don’t parade around with a big sign on my chest for all to see. That's a part of being a Warden Mr. Luzerei."

A sudden slamming sound rocked the air and Vassara's grip on her shotgun tightened. She glanced over to see a young woman and a dead patron, face smashed into the table. Being that this was a pretty shady place she simply gave a glance, noting her description and the details of her dress. Then it hit her suddenly. This was the dark presence.

Her spike of anger washed through the force like a searing hot lightning bolt. Vassara had no idea exactly who the woman might be, or what she was up too. As a Spacer she learned it was best to not ask questions in this type of environment. They could get you killed fast.

"I see. You should be aware that many of missions consist of hunting One Sith as well as the other oppressors and evils of the galaxy. If you're ok with that than you have a job. If not, walk away now while you are still nameless."

Char-Li drew his Westar 34 when he heard the slam before slow re-sheathing the weapon into it's holster. His eyes focused toward the figure who seemed to make Char-Li's body chill. He turned his attention back to Vassara and nodded softly, pondering the offer before nodding. "Like I said, so long as I don't have to actively look and kill sith, I'm in. Just know that I won't leave your side until my debt or job is complete."

That much was true, he was a man of honor and not of monetary fixation. Money was an object used for his gain, but not one that controlled him in anyway. His word did though and the promises he's kept along the years and the lives he swore to avenge and protect.

"Shall we get going then or should we wait?"

"Lets wait." Vassara said, glancing over the woman once more. She was curious now what would happen. If suddenly the woman started having an outburst of madness, she was obligated to protect the lives of the innocents here. As much as they may be scum. Her gloved hand drew the shotgun swiftly, and whirled it under the table so it sat across her lap.

Then both hands came back up and grasped her drink.

"If I offered you chance for money, and to serve in prestigious force that fights oppression in the galaxy what would you say?"

She was speaking of the Underground of course. A secret organization of hundreds of individuals each doing their part to topple the oppressors of the galaxy, whoever they may be. Lately they lacked smugglers and Mercs for jobs. Vassara was on a bit of a recruiting kick, trying to vet and induct new members...

Char-Li shrugged softly, "I'm not in the merc job for the money. I just don't have another way of life. But the cause is always something I'm obliged to follow if I find it to be able to preach to the public. I still live by my codes, but I think it might be time for some change." There was a small sigh that escaped his lips as he looked down at his hands which rested on the table. He knew what sith were capable of, it was a matter of it he was willing to up and hunt them, Jedi too, but he was sure that a Jedi wouldn't the extermination of their own people.

"What did you have in mind?"

He needed details, not that most of it would matter to him in the long run.

[member="Char-Li Luzerei"]

"I’m headed into a mission when I get out of here. Just come with. If you do well, I'll give the details."

The Underground was secretive as hell. Vassara could certainly get him in, but he would need a solid operation under his belt, and to be proved trusworthy.

Char-Li was intrigued and a bit curious anyhow, but hell, what's one mission? He nodded and grinned, "I'm in."

He wasn't associated to anyone, not even the Mandos whom he considers himself as one. But he didn't have a true clan or group to call his. It didn't matter, he was expendable anyhow.

Zareh turned her expression towards the two in the corner, noting their reactions and how little they were. She began to walk over to the two, dusting her hands off as she walked. Her eyes were amber, and seemed to be filled with multiple emotions at once. Curiosity, Anger, and an almost child-like excitement. She never broke the gaze she had locked on the two as she strode over to them.

Char-Li felt a small presence come toward him, mainly because his range finder picked it up. He slid his helmet on before turning toward the woman heading toward him and his new found employer, maybe even friend. His hands traveled to his lap, hear his Westar 34's, near drawing position. He studied the woman's intent look, readying himself for a battle that may occur.

Zareh twitched her hand as she approached, seemingly in reaction towards Char-Li reaching for his lap. She didn't betray any hostile intent, nor was it friendly. If unstopped, she would walk until she reached the edge of the table, looking down at the two, smirking lightly. "You two seem.. very focused on whatever secretive business you have going on." She said, her voice smooth, yet dripping with some unidentified emotion.
