Fire in the City

Lon thought about the question "i suppose they don't like being outsmarted" He spoke with a chuckle, "most governments dislike me, no matter how many times they catch me i still wriggle myself between their fingers" another laugh sifted out of his mouth. Taking another gulp of Ale he asked alexander "so, what about you, why are you here?"

"Me? My crew and I are here for load of ore. Don't really expect much trouble as this is a regular run for us." Pausing to light up another cigarette, "With all the trouble going around right now, you would think the Republic has more to keep themselves busy than hassling citizens, right? Don't get me wrong, but with the Sith and Mandalorians raising all sorts of hell, they should settle that issue first instead off cracking down on simple folk."

Lon was beggining to like alexander, so far the man had been pretty smart about the republic "exactly! Any time where i can do my job without the republic getting in my way is a good time" Lon explained

"Well I still have a couple of hours before the loading would be complete, then I'm off to Remnant Space. So far that is the most stable area, far from the front lines so to speak. I could lend you a hand getting back on your feet before I go if you're interested."

Darren listend in to the conversation between the soldier and the smugler, and was agreeing on everything they were saying. The Repulic was hitting the people they need to protect ,but not the people who were causing the most trouble. Before the smugler could respond to Alexander he said "Anybodys job is easier when the Republic is not involved." It felt as if in cue the person he was looking for ealier came back and was watching them, and what scared Darren most was that they were only a few feet away. Darren couldnt tell who it was. There were to many people to focus on only one.

Lon laughed "that would be highly appreciated Alexander, all i need is to get to my ship, which is no doubt crawling with republic troops" Lon admitted, drinking the rest of his ale.

"Sounds like you need a distraction, eh? Old Alexander is up for a little fun. If I can get you to your ship, can you make it out of here intact?" Alexander relished the idea already, although he was sure his second in command will raise unholy hell when she finds out.

"Well that would depend on Lon over here. You see I figure, he is already in enough trouble with the Republic that he wouldn't want them to add murder charges to his list of crimes. So I am thinking we finesse it. I get some of my crew over here and we head to your ship. You would be our 'prisoner' and you and your goods are impounded for trial with the Remnant. We would be taking you in for questioning. Naturally once inside you would 'escape' from our custody. How does that sound?"

Darren saw what Alexander was going at with the plan, but for lon to escape they needed a diversion. "We may need a diversion. I might be able to do that. The Republic are looking for Sith right? Well I have a red lighsaber." Darren was thinking about going on the other side of the compund for the Republic, and causing some trouble so they would be focused on him and not lon. Darren knew that he could escape from them if he needed to with out too much trouble.

Lon thought through the process thoroughly "you can never be too carefull, and this plan is a bit risky, they are expecting me to come back for my ship, and they might be expecting a distraction" Lon proposed

Darren thought this over and it sounded plausable to him. "Thats true, but do you think they would rather try and take a 'Sith' rather than a smugler? Sith can do more damage than a smugler probably ever could. They may only know that if they truly suspect that Alexander is not toying with them." Darren replied.

He understood lon in how they might think that, but the distraction of a Sith is to hard to resist for the Republic they have an urge to get rid of them. Its in their nature. He was going to give them a diversion that was going to be a pretty one.... well in the Republic's eyes it wasnt.

"Just a sec, let me get some of my crew over. I know just the ones who would enjoy this." Half an hour later a pair of grinning Wookies and an irate red headed human female with an eyepatch enter the facility. All of them are wearing the same kind of armor as the older gentleman at their table. The female makes a beeline to Alexander and says in a low voice, "Sir, I must protest. I cannot allow these two idiots shore leave. Remember the last time, they thrash half a mile of recreational facilities and put dozens of people in the hospital because they were too drunk and thought it was a great idea to grab the Twileks head tails."

"Precisely why you're coming with us. To make sure none of us degenerates start a fight." Alexander said with a wink. "We're going to escort Mr. Lon over here to his ship which is under guard by a team of Republic soldiers. I will do all the talking, you will be there to make me look pretty."

The woman looks at his companions and then says in a low voice, "Sir, the other one is a force user."

"Yes, I know. But he is a friend and he agreed to help." With that he introduced Lon and Darren to his second in command, Tanis Dragonbourne and the two wookies, Zack and Ryder.

"We're going to escort Mr. Lon to his ship, which we will impound for crimes against the Remnant. Darren will give us time to get Lon as close as the ship as possible. Then he would cause a distraction. At which point, I will get sucker punched and we brawl with the Republic while Lon makes his getaway. Any questions?"

With an excited look on his face lon spoke "sounds good enough, ill just pretend my hands are tied" lon looked at alexanders wookies and laughed "with wookies joining the party, this will be fun!" Lon enjoyed wookies company, they where fierce warriors.

"The go signal would be Palpatine." Alexander said as he synchronized their comm signals, amused that the trigger word was the name of the former Emperor of the First Empire. "So are we clear on our roles? Any more questions?"
