First Do No Harm

The warning was well-heeded. It was similar to what she told her students about using the force to create barriers or protection bubbles. It was a very tiring task and one that oh-so-many seemed to think was a good way to block out incoming attacks of, well, any kind. Too many times had she seen students get overconfident in what they could do. Students that had attempted to block a blaster bolt or worse, only for them to escape a gunshot with their pride in ruin.

“That’s why I can’t save everyone, isn’t it?” Kana asked as she tried to remain calm and centered. “The amount people who would die from me passing out in exhaustion is considerably greater than the amount who would die if I paced myself.”

“I should have figured.”

The dawning of understanding that would sweep across Kana's features would prompt a slow nod from the ethereal form of Jedi Knight Adele A'donnai.

"Indeed, You are a candle in the dark. If extinguished, there is nothing to hold it back." Her voice would start to slowly fade.

"Meditate on the Force, and use the lessons you've learned today in practice."

Her form would start to dissipate.

"Good luck Knight Truden, and may the Force be with you."

The ethereal form of [member="Adele Adonai"] faded away and left Kana in a state of surprise. Something about the ‘candle in the dark’ comment had her thinking of something similar to what Corvus had said long ago. She didn’t put as much thought into it though; the greater picture here was that Kana had just taken her first step towards being a healer or doctor. She could feel it in her heart as if she had a purpose all of a sudden.

“Thank you, Healer Adonai.” Kana whispered. Her voice echoed around the quiet, lonesome room.

With renewed energy she got up from her seated position. Hands on her hips she took a quick breath and smiled. This was just the start of something great. Kana would do her best to carry the teachings of her favorite ghost onwards from here on.

She quietly repeated today’s lessons as she left the archives in peace. Now, where was the nearest hospital?
