First Order Administration and Future!

Just for clarification, [member="Aram Kalast"] technically isn't going anywhere, he will still remain part of the FA team.

Also you guys are too kind. Y'all are the bread and butter of the faction, we just throw stuff together. :p

[member="Ludolf Vaas"] is my vote.

Also no offense [member="Aram Kalast"], but I don't think Bellis is the ideal "head" of the Ren. Given that the character hasn't really done anything for the Ren in...well...a real long time. I think it's kind of an insult to the other members that have been here and actively contributing. I'm not really sure that you stepping down as FO automatically means you'll have more time to "contribute" to the IC development of the Ren (which probably needs the least fleshing out of all the areas of the FO at the moment).

I think that [member="Darth Veles"] has done an outstanding job acting as something of a leading figure and, truthfully, is more deserving than Bellis. The character that abandoned the Ren for the Triumvirate...only to return now that the Triumvirate has gone minor.

Just my two cents though.

I pull no punches. <.<

It was more of a bring him back so I can concentrate on a part of the faction that needs the attention.

As for the actual head of the Ren position its open at the moment for interpretation, I merely stated I would slip into it to get the ball rolling as we did at the start. I do agree on [member="Darth Veles"] though, a clear contender once we start pushing the Ren for sure. Belis is merely a Knight at the moment as well, so he can't really be pushing too much weight other than being the founding member.

l support Belis. The vision for the Ren was his to begin with. Veles will undoubtedly lead to the rule of two which is not what we need in the Ren.

There are also OOC observations. While I do not interact much in Skype chats and such i simply observe and have for some time. These observations lead me to beleieve that Veles should not be leading.

From the beginning there has always been debate as to the direction the Ren would take. The last thing we need is someone who would create the rule of two, and for the Ren to be a cult.

The Knights of Ren are pretty much the definition of a cult.

But, k.

[member="Aram Kalast"] - no worries, just giving voice to my personal opinion :)

What [member="Samka Derith"] said.

I came back to this site to find an active and exciting faction in the First Order that quite frankly persuaded me to return.

It was a brilliant idea to begin with, no doubt making early use of the hype and love surrounding Episode VII.

What you have all done with this faction is superb, the lore, the presentation, the media reports, and of course the administration.

In the very short time I have been here I cannot possibly decide between [member="Natasi Fortan"] or [member="Ludolf Vaas"] to lead us. You are truly both a huge credit to this faction and should be immensely proud of yourselves.

Also let's keep up this OOC drama surrounding the Ren leadership I'm loving it!

Yay, Natasiiiii!!! :)

I do not believe there is any 'good' option for the knights of Ren IC wise. Everyone has ulterior motives from what I have seen, so everyone's equally suited in my opinion. There is no choice clearly better than the others.

To clarify Veles's adherence to the Rule of Two, it only extends to other Sith. Ren are not Sith and Veles does not intend to ever turn them into Sith. Quite the opposite, he wants the two strictly separated. On the other hand, he will decline anyone who wants to become his apprentice (he has Decima already). He will offer basic Force traning to the Ren, show them how to use the dark side and wield it to further the First Order's goals, but again, he will not give away advanced techniques of the Sith.

As far as OOC goes, I'd let the Ren players decide who they want in the position.

[member="Ciardha Ren"] Thank you for that input. Ultimately we want the leader of the Knights of Ren to make sense IC as well as OOC. We want the leader to be someone who is responsible OOC, but also a character that is respected by others IC, because we don't want to alienate any of you guys.

You've brought up some good points. At this point, as [member="Aram Kalast"] has said, it seems the question of who will lead the Ren is undecided, or whether we should simply leave the position vacant for the time being. We will discuss it and definitely consider your viewpoints.

[member="Natasi Fortan"] has my support ...and I am completely unbiased.

Technically the supreme leader is in charge of the Ren if we want to resemble the set up from the film. The General commanded the military on behalf of and Kylo well... we just saw Kylo, whose training was not complete so we know he wasn't a master.

An NPC makes sense here perhaps. Then we could simply have an admin that provides a resource to the Ren? Whoever that would be ooc.

[member="Jaron Lesan"]

An NPC might be good for now if there's really no one suitable, but in the long term I think only the Supreme Leader himself should be an NPC.

And on Kylo Ren, he was literally called "master of the Knights of Ren" in the film. (Which is sad, seeing as he was then beaten by a complete noob who had never used a lightsaber or the Force before)

That is the current process, but I don't think the intent is for it to remain as such permanently. The collaborative approach is working just fine right now :)

Easy solution. Promote the 11 year old to Master of Ren.

My first decree with be a HoloStation for every Knight of Ren, and for the Citadel to be re-decorated with beanbag chairs. Also, dessert will precede, and follow, all meals.

...yes? maybe?

...

I'll just let you get back to me on that? 'k?

:D

Eh give the man some credit, he'd been shot by a super duper powerful explody gun which insta-kills troopers and sends them flying through the air. The fact that he could even walk after that is kinda impressive let alone duel :p

I'd agree on an NPC leader for now. I think Ren PCs at the moment are either too low ranking or haven't got the right motives/personality to suddenly be promoted to grand master. When the time comes we should hold a faction vote for a suitable PC candidate to take the role but for now we should continue as we are.

I'm a bit busy over the coming few days, I'm moving to live in another city, but I'd love to put the effort into building the Order of Ren as an institution if the need be. The impression I've got around the forum is that people think its our weakest aspect lore and development-wise so it's mainly up to those of us who's most active characters are Ren to change that.

No one makes the hero bleed.
Well, not to toot my own horn too loud, but Mael may be a future Master of Ren candidate. He really is bound and determined to bury his own past behind his mask. The life of a petty thief (ditched the fallen Jedi thing, too cliche) was just a lead-up to greater things.

Mind you, despite all his fervour and jingoism, he's still in need of more time and training. Plus he's a bit emotionally unstable. Not totally batshit nuts, more a sociopath, but he is like a fledgeling Dark side user learning to harness his emotions.
