Dominion FLATLINED-Liberation of Culroon III

Flatlined

In the Cold harsh desert terrains of Culroon III , located in the South West sector, a local village (Cepal) is being ravaged by a major political figure from the capitol of Brynea. Women and children are disappearing…the warden of the town is doing nothing about it. Liberation is needed but at what cost? Those who dare to resist the Authority (mostly business owners) have been tagged with neuro-chips that will detonate if the Authority is not given what is due.

Objective 1

Liberation- Town locals are in need of assistance to stand up to the local policing force of the Agency and its tyrannical rule..If only they had inspiration

Objective 2

ball & Chain -Trade and collection routes are the same once a week. The Authority has been collecting more than its share of cred from the village named Cepal. Who can stop the madness?

Objective 3

Two’s a party- the Authority has a garrison set up several miles east. It’s a journey..but getting ther undetected and infiltrating for useful information can be very rewarding. Not to mention facing off against the leader of this tryannical group that acts as the power hand of the Chancellor.

((The Elysium has asked for a small volunteer unit to investigate this situation and set up a trade agreement between Mandalarms and the planets resources once true liberation has taken place))

Arriving a Mile out, westbound from Cepal through the atmosphere into a landing port, Mandalorian Commando Hagen would walk down the exit ramp of her shuttle and towards the cargo hold where her ENB-300 was stationed. The passenger vessel that was purchased through a rough trade within Mandalarms ran great and although slower in speed, It was quite formidable. As she climbed aboard, using the step hook she would look at her left wrist. Telecommunications pad that would pop up a holographic layout of the Town. Seems, there were several ways to enter the town with checkpoints all around. Military? Unclear...The town was structured similarly to a grid. A lot of blacks and streets...dead ends and rooftops. It was high noon..Somewhat breezy with an indication of a cold night ahead. No matter. Valah was prepared to investigate this minor faction known only as the "Authority" . Hopefully, a good place to start would be the local cantina...A place where everyone talks and eventually you wind up hearing what you need to know.

The Dobsons were going to be executed. Or at least that was the word...and it had reached Felixs' ears on Coruscant when he was there for a few jobs. He had then returned to his ex-confederate home where he received a letter from Severus, his father's favorite son, telling him about the execution. Felix was only coming home to see the end of a dark chapter of his life, where his father, Arken, had made him do terrible deeds "for the family." Felix had since left, finding an honest job as a mechanic. But now there was an execution, and it would be the final page in the chapter of The Dobsons. Or so he hoped. Plus, maybe he could get some of the wealth once the others were killed.

But now he was on Culroon III, a planet that was technically under Imperial control, but still had many problems. He learnt those problems when he landed in a small town and was greeted by some kind of security, that very aggressively took a toll from him, and demanded to know his intent. He had stayed for a few days, and since then he had seen all kinds of aggressions from these security. The civilians of the town were clearly terrified, and Felix himself was starting to lose his temper with them. In fact, he kinda hoped for an incident tonight. He had nothing better to do, after all.

Objective: 2

Traps.

Lori was great at those ever since her youth. She used them on her twin brother, on her classmates, her Mandalorian vod that trained and lived with her, Sith that had lay siege to her homeworld of Commenor, and also against agents and soldiers of the Eternal Empire.

And now she'd use them here.

The one thing that was great about routine, was that one could always count on it. And plan for it.

Cepal was the next on the trade route list for the Authority, and so Lori and Arla took it upon themselves to start setting up some of the elaborate traps. They used shovels, tripwire, small detonators, tar, feathers, wood, fireworks and anything else available. They also set up holorecorders to capture the moments of embarrassment for the Authority.

Oh this was going to be wicked!!

As Felix made his way through the town he would notice alot of the locals under the shaded market stands in a rush of sorts. Yelling at vendors and haggling prices. The sun was out and it was high noon. A cool breeze was underway to combat the heat of the desert terrain but it offered little help. Some individuals were seen with small tanks of water and other hydrating liquids that were connected by tubes and dispensed as need be. A kid would come from the left alley way, about 4 feet in height, zooming past Felix laughing. Suddenly (THONK). A rubber ball would hit him upside the head. A girl giving chase to the kid yelled "Hey! Dian! Watch out you clutz!" In which case he yelled back, "You threw it!!" while laughing. The kids in the area found ways to be creative. Knowing every alley, every street..Growing up there, you found ways to have fun..Until you were called away. "Sorry man!" The boy would sheepishly apologize

As Lori and Arla commenced to the trap making they had good intel provided about the trade route that the governmental Authority used. As they went about their business a speeder would be seen several kilometers out approaching their location. Zooming towards them in a hurry but with one hand in the air flagging them down. It seemed this individual was in a hurry to get to them with some kind of message with urgency.

Fleeting westward at high speeds on the ENB-300 Valah took a turn slightly to the left seeing a speeder coming from the city. They looked like a resident judging solely on the attire. Instead of heading straight into town, she followed behind, but far enough to stop and be ready for anything. According to intel..The collectors took a certain path beyond the sandy hills North West..Miles out. With her helmet on, she didn't have to worry about sand kicking up in her face, and she could scan ahead for any heat signatures. Little did she know...The party was about to start.

Ki smiled beneath her cloak as she watched the peoples going about their business. It was a new day, one of monotonous business and survival, one of typical fear and torment these unfortunate souls have been living under for who knows how long now. But it was also another day to make change, change in the form of liberation.

For the past several weeks, Sakuran operatives, the Empress included, had been integrating with the locals, building relationships and gathering information. They had been using this newfound ground to begin gathering all they could who were sympathetic to their cause.

And that cause, was freedom!
The small group of Sakuran commandos had garnered quite a gathering of those who wished for change, and had been training them on guerilla-style tactics. The last raid on the Authority armory had let them access some pretty sweet tech.

But right now, under the blistering sun, the Empress sat cloaked, at a table in front of one of the local shops. She was waiting to give the signal for their latest party, once all the innocents had been vacated and the daily Authority patrol began their march...

Objectives: All

Far, far above the harsh desert sands of Culroon III, in a different kind of inhospitable environment existed, a place so cold that one would, quite literally, freeze to death if they spent more than a few seconds outside. Space, the place where the most opportunities for advancement existed...and the most chances to meet one's end. Aculia was there today, in a new Elysium Navy uniform complete with an officer's cap, taking the First Strike Group of the newly formed XIII Battlegroup on what was officially a "special anti-piracy operation" around the system. It would certainly shock those of those that knew her, to see her so formally being caged by a commission much like Martin Dux who was bound to the King, but...

Sacrifices must be made if you are to advance your aims and truly help the refugees you swore to protect all those years ago from predation and slavery. And, like it or not, fleets have more of an impact there than a single laser sword ever could...at least until one got close enough to sever a tyrant's head from their body. This, too, serves that purpose, if Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun , Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun , or even Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou get out of line when it came to maintaining their rule. Besides, an officer's salary is much better.

Besides, it was much nicer up here on the HMS Valiant, the command Aspis she was in. Climate control, officers who follow the most important orders like fetching you food or getting some lowly private to do your laundry and bed, not having to run the risk of having your life snuffed out of all a sudden by one lucky gunshot. She could see why Grand Shepherd Burtch Grand Shepherd Burtch tended to stay aboard his ships for the most part. It was nicer in a lot of ways that being a ground pounder simply was not. She knew, having been a ground pounder herself.

Strike Force Agathon was, for the most part, respecting the borders of the local planetary authority, refraining from entering the atmosphere, aside from a small squadron of Argus SAWACs craft nominally scanning the planet for pirate activity, along with one squadron of War Hawks for security against ground threats and two squadrons of Strike Eagles to guard them against attacks from enemies in the air. She doubted whoever ran this desolate planet had more than a squadron or two of fighters and bombers between them, so it's not like they could have refused.

Of course this whole thing was just a massive fabrication to provide some immediate relief to any of the Elysium forces on the ground if things really went haywire, and evacuate the Queen if things really went south. She wondered if her marriage to Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun was all the pleasant, given that she liked going on these missions where she risked life and limb personally. Aculia had not quite yet been able to figure out that whole arrangement, but it seemed there was definitely more than meets the eye going on there.

This is certainly a roundabout and limited way to impose our influence on this planet. Definitely more of a hearts and minds type kind of campaign.
Maybe this is a bit more of Loreena's way of doing things, given that Rex so far has been a fan of the more direct ways such as shelling cities to dust and bombing the Nejidi even further back into the stone age than they already were.

Yawning, she leaned back in her command chair, and let herself listen to scenery around her, finding a bit of peace within the Force. If things looked particularly bad or if they needed help, the agents would know use their secure commlink to the fleet.

Objective: 2

Arla was quick to notice the approaching speeder. Her hearing was far more sensative than Lori's was, and her sensors were pretty quick to pick things up. "Someone's coming..." Her eyes narrowed slightly as she paused what she was doing to look.

"Who is it? Are they....waving at us?" Lori lightly patted down some of the dirt with the shovel, after just setting down a sensor for one of her traps. Speeders hovered above the ground, so it was important to be sure that the movement of dirt was still enough to trip the sensor to spring the trap that was a little further ahead. Timing was everything.

She wiped at her brow with her forearm as she paused. "Maybe the Authority are coming early? I thought that we might have more time..."

As Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou sat there in observation of the area, one of the locals would pass by carrying a silver bucket of water. This individual wore loose tattered brown clothing with battered sandals on his feet. He would nod to her out of respect and place the bucket down before looking at her. "The destined path for those who dwell here was not the chosen for most. In time...We will all get there." He simply stated as he placed his hands upon his hips. As the breeze picked up a little he would point to a small igloo-shaped hut with a star symbol painted on the front. It had an "x" that was crossed over it in black. "If you ever come across those...It's symbolic of an abandoned area...There throughout the town..Places that shut down due to an increase in tax..And absurd fees to operate a business. This Authority is ridiculous."

As Arla warned Lori of the approaching vehicle, It continued it's approach. Coming to a halt 20 feet from thier location, a slender man would hop of the speeder carrying a brown travelers pack, wearing sand goggles while tracking through the sand. He waved again once more. "Heya! I mean no harm! I'm from Cepal! A part of the town line patrol! I see you were enlisted to help us? What are your names?" He asked while wrapping a cloth loosely around his face.

As She parked the Speeder and slowly dismounted, She looked ahead spotting the speeder in front of her over a hillside. It was the perfect spot for a steak out. She began walking with haste. Carrying electrobinoculars with her, she found a spot to perch and zoom in carefully. Seeing Loreena Arenais-Valhoun Loreena Arenais-Valhoun , Arla ,and the same figure from before..It seemed as if a casual conversation would unfold. Looking further North...Nothing but baren land in the distance. But there were track lines..DEEP track lines that seemed to lead away from the town. ((What does this Authority prefer as far as vehicular transportation?)) She wondered as she continued looking on .

Grand Inquisitor of the EOTL
While the ground teams at objectives one and two continued their hectic mission, Aculia was musing on how happy she was that she had appropriated extra funds for heating her command chair. It was so nice to be able to cozy up in a pleasantly warm, affluent seat with real leather, heated by the ship's systems. She had actually been on the verge of dozing off about a dozen times now, brought back only by the occasional status report from the small group of fighters she had sent down earlier. Technically, she was the admiral, so she could simply go ahead and head back to her quarters and sleep, or go enjoy the recreational areas if she chose, but that would set a bad example and she was not sure she had completely purged any of Rex's little intelligence agents from her ship who would give the man a bad report if she slacked off a bit during these singularly boring times. She sighed, and brought out her datapad, looking over the objectives.

Seems to be going well enough on the first and second objectives...but where is the team handling the third objective? The one that could prove the most harm? Their sad little excuse for a military is set up there and could cause problems if things begin to pop off elsewhere.

She yawned, then smiled. Well, if no one else was up to the task of handling the garrison, she might as handle them in the event things really kicked off.

"Task Force Gryphon, divert to coordinates X-5-2-0. We're going to do a little bit of scouting around what I suspect to be a 'pirate base' in the area."

Objective: 2

Lori and Arla exchanged glances briefly while the man introduced himself sort of. He asked for their names, yet didn't provide his own.

Hmmmm...

Lori leaned against the shovel, both of them studying him in their own ways. "I run by Goofball to some, this is Cessy." Covers of course. No doubt he'd pick up on it. "All's good here, so you can carry on while we finish up. The Authority will be here soon."

Hopefully not too soon.

-and an incident did happen.

Felix looked out from under the speeder he was working on, observing the source of the commotion outside his garage. Even upside down, at a distance, it was clear what was going on outside. Some old man hadn't complied with The Authorities' goons and now they were bullying him. Scum. Felix took a long sigh, then rolled out from under the speeder and jumped to his feet, grabbing a wrench and holstering it in one of the many pockets and loops of his outfit.

Then he aggressively paced toward the group...which consisted of five goons dressed in "military" clothes that looked like they belonged to a laser tag Laarping group. Felix smiled when the group noticed him, holding his hands up at chest level as he walked.

"Gentlemen! What seems to be the problem?"

Grand Inquisitor of the EOTL
Aculia carefully monitored at the tactical holographic projection in front of her as Task Force Gryphon diverted from their overwatch position to scout out the Authority's military base. Although she was not exactly what one would call a workaholic, she definitely cared about the lives of the men and women who had sworn to serve the Elysium Empire, or more importantly, to her. She would not waste their lives in vain.

"Have they reacted at all to the shift in our flight plan?
" She asked her SAWACs squadron monitoring the situation on the ground.

"No visible reaction from either their anti-air defenses or ground forces. They seem to be holding position, with only token forces on guard at the perimeter. Most of the garrison appears to be at ease. Sending visual images and video feed now."

As the SAWACs transferred the video feed and images towards the base, she studied them intently. She guessed there was maybe around a squadron and a half of decrepit, barely serviceable fighters at the local runway, along with a few equally ancient shuttles and scattered light bombers. As for the ground forces, there were maybe a few companies of infantry given the size and state of the barracks, and some light armor and transport vehicles scattered about-they looked just as capable as their excuse for an air force.

It makes sense, after all. There really do not seem to be a lot of particularly valuable resources on this planet, aside from whatever light manufacturing and trade goods the local population can put together. The Authority is likely just a glorified mafia state armed with just enough to bully civilians with a few blasters, not deal with a real military incursion. After all, to do that costs credits that could better go to filling their pockets. And anyone who would bother them out here in the Outer Rim could likely be bought off anyway.

She wondered what the end game Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun had for this planet was. Was it just to serve as a buffer planet for the Imperial core? Maybe station a company of soldiers here to extract what little they could out of it and to maintain basic law and order? It would be interesting to see what he had in mind for it, at the end of the day. She again wondered at the softer touch here-was this whole operation ultimately a concession to Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou ? It was becoming relatively well-known that the Kitsune was livid over what happened on Nejid where diplomacy had been sidetracked. She would have to meet the Empress of Akurai at some point, it seemed they may have a bit in common when it comes to restraining Rex's more ....heavy-handed...methods of convincing local populations to join the Empire.

The group of men stood there and would give thier attention to Felix but for a brief moment. One of them tries to dismiss his curiosity.

"Move along...Nothing to concern yourself with here...." The bald headed man would claim as the Rodian next to him would turn back.

"If you would like to know...I don't see why you shouldn't be made aware of this situation. NO PAY NO OPERATION....This place is blacklisted..Simple..And whatever you were doing over there....You have a license to operate?" He asked curiously as all the men with thier blasters turned to face Felix now giving him thier full attention.

"No visible reaction from either their anti-air defenses or ground forces. They seem to be holding position, with only token forces on guard at the perimeter. Most of the garrison appears to be at ease. Sending visual images and video feed now."

Lori was sure that this was one of the paths that the Authority took. And she was certain that they'd be using speeders and hover transports.

But the tremors told her otherwise.

Both Lori and Arla looked to the skies, expecting to see a low flying craft approaching them. But there was nothing. "Cessy, where are they?"

The tremors got worse. And as the town patrolman started running to his speeder, Arla scanned the area as much as she could, however her sensors couldn't penetrate the sand. "Either they are underground or behind the dunes."

Lori grumbled as they hadn't finished setting everything up yet. Regardless she picked up the shovel and whatever supplies she could and started to run to take cover with Arla in tow.

"Sir, transmission from the local Authority forces."

"Oh?" Aculia's interest peaked. They were actually monitoring the situation? Interesting.

Aculia sat still for a moment, taking in the sheer audacity of Commander Gregh. Then, she started laughing, eliciting quite a few looks from her command staff. It took her a few moments before she could regain her composure and calm down. This ragtag commander of this pathetic excuse for a military thought he could bully her and the entirety of the First Strike Group?

"Commander Gregh, this is Admiral Aculia Voland of the Elysium Empire speaking. I was under the impression from our earlier understanding that our forces had the complete run of the planet in order to locate the pirates which have been disrupting the Empire's shipping, including doing a flyby of that area of the planet. These pirates are notoriously difficult to find and will use every nook and cranny they can in order to hide their forces. We have not engaged in any hostilities against you. I should remind you that any hostile action against any of my forces is the same as striking his majesty Rex Valhoun Rex Valhoun himself. You will back down, or you will be made to back down."

Go ahead and start something idiot. Give me a reason...

As They began to retreat to find cover from down under the sand a squad of Droideka enforcers would emerge 50 yards out from thier location aboard a LARGE DROIDEKA Carrier that was slow in movement but roughly 30 feet in height and 30 feet in circumference. Sand and wind kicked up everywhere as there was a pilot behind the cockpit controlling the movement. Turbo lazer canons were being primed as the group of droideka's (20 in total) detached from either side of the carrier and began making thier way through the sands at accessive speed! !! ! ! !
