For the Common Good

As Kay rose, leading the way down the hall, Adron once again rekindled their conversation. “Now. As for your dealings with your Minister of Defense. I recommend you announce her removed from her position, until the outcome of her trial of course. Also, it would do well to confine her to some manner of House Arrest.” Adron’s words were dry and in a manner cold, yet they did not hold any malice.

Once they arrived to the room, Adron set his hand upon the pad, allowing the device to lock in his unique handprint. “If you do not. It will seem like you are protecting her.”

The pad gave off a soft beep, allowing the duo entrance into the new room. Both conducting business and examining his new room at the same time, the High Moff roamed around the space absently. “Also. I would have a meeting with all in your inner circle. It must be known that you can suffer no more embarrassments.”

Kay frowned slightly. [member="Adron Malvern"] was right of course. There was no other path that could be taken. She had to show that such actions weren't acceptable. Even Veiere was arrested and held in confinement as he awaits trial. The same must be done here. "I'll have it arranged."

She clasped her hands in front of her while he looked around his office and bedchambers. They seemed to be of his liking as Adron was busy still talking about business. Kay nodded in agreement. "I will send for them. When would you wish to hold the meeting?" She wasn't sure how many would show. They didn't always stay on Commenor, afterall. She didn't run their lives.

What was everyone going to think at this meeting? It could go a couple of different ways. Either they'd applaud her or despise her. Whatever happens, this was all neccessary for the good of their government.

A passive arch of the brow came from Adron before he smiled. “Earliest convenience. Of course I do not think it's something that needs to be rushed. However it should happens either before or directly after the Minister’s trial.” He said, taking a moment to pause in consideration.

“What can you tell me about your inner circle?” He prodded, curious to know more about the men he would be working close besides.

“Also… You must present my new position as if it was purely your idea. Your people will respect such more. If they believe the Empire is dipping into your will, they will likely respond in a negative manner.”

Kay nodded. Another trial. Hopefully this one wouldn't sully her repuation even further. "Before would probably be best."

Now [member="Adron Malvern"] asked about her Ministers, followed by an afterthought. Without having [member="Veiere Arenais"] with her to offer advice, it was only natural for her to select someone else. But yes, it was far better for her to do so than a foreign government.

"My Minister of Justice is [member="Darlyn Excron"] . He's also one of my closest friends, a Dark Jedi too. And he loves things that go boom. My Minister of Finance and Trade is [member="Darben Skirae"] . He's a little timid, hates to fly, but he's good at what he does. My Minister of Foreign Relations is [member="Silfe Sosuri"] . I haven't heard from her in some time however. I imagine that her father may have sent for her and she didn't tell me. My Deputy-Minister of Defence is [member="Cato Marek"] . I haven't seen him in some time either." That in itself may make her look bad. But what others didn't know couldn't hurt them. She often took care of a whole manner of things on her own. "My Head of Security is [member="Einon"] . He's been with me for a long time. Very loyal." Was that everyone? Pretty much. "That's about it. My government is quite small compared to most."

As Lady Kay spoke, Adron maintained a rather mute smile. However, when it came to two of her inner circle that she had not heard from in a notable time, he contorted his face into a curious expression.

"That will have to be rectified. Of course your government requires a different standard than the Empire, but you should be aware of your inner circle's general whereabouts." After hearing that Kay kept a small circle, he nodded at her words with a soft smile. "Smart. Saturating your government with unnecessary faces won't help anyone, now will it?"

After finding his new quarters in Commenor to be acceptable, the High Moff gave the Queen an accepting wave of the hand. "This will do perfectly. Now, shall we talk about the economic standing of Commenor and her charges? You should know, as your advisor I will open all means of resource to you that I have available,"

Kay didn't expect [member="Adron Malvern"] to be impressed when she laid out her list of government officals. Nor did she expect that he'd be pleased to hear that she hadn't known of the whereabouts of two of them. But of course it wasn't her fault.

At least he approved of the small size. Sure she knew a lot of people, but those that she let in her government were small in numbers.

The Empire was gaining a lot of infprmation right now. But Kay was careful. She revealled no secrets as of yet. Everything that she's said so far has been public knowledge.

"Our economy is doing very well." At last something that she could report in a positive light. "As are the other worlds in our care. Numerous trade routes keep everything going. Our resources are being spread across the Galaxy, both for humanitarian and profitable means. So far we have encountered no blockades and no attacks on any of the ships passing through." The routes were patrolled and at random. It saved people from guessing where their forces would be at.

There was a bit of relief when Kay revealed that the economy of her worlds was thriving. A thriving economy was the backbone to a powerful nation, and if Commenor had that then it was certainly not as far off path as many had believed.

Adron had a great many questions. Some of them military related, some Naval and trade questions, and others were even personal questions he felt a need to be informed on. Yet out of all those questions, there was one that e decided to voice in the moment. "Are you going to be ok?" He asked, eyeing the Queen with an unsure expression. "I know with everything that has happened you must be feeling a bit of stress."

Leaning back against his desk, Adron crossed his arms as he spoke. "Maybe you should consider a day off after things have cleared up. Merely a suggestion. Now, is there anything you have for me, My Lady?"

Kay blinked in surprise. Of all the things for [member="Adron Malvern"] to ask, he chose to ask about whether or not she'll be okay. He wasn't the first to inquire and until this was all over, he wouldn't be the last. She swallowed down a lump in her throat. Was she going to be okay? That all depended on the outcome of the trial."I don't have an answer for that right now." And that was the truth of it.

When he suggested the idea of taking a day off, Kay had to laugh a little."Just as there's no such thing as privacy for me, tjere's no such thing as a day off either." Her old friend Mac had told her a while ago that she was a slave to her position. It took a while, but she discovered that he was right in that line of thinking. Sure she may have some people working for her, but they could all quit, whereas she could not. It was the price to pay for being a leader of billions.

"Anything that I have for you? Well...I'll have to get back to you on that tomorrow. This visit and...turn of events was highly unexpected." And it was. Who knew that she'd be hiring an avisor today?

There was no attempt to convince Lady Kay that she needed a day off. The High Moff merely knew such things we're valued luxuries, though he was fairly sure she would not take the advice, not this time. Kay said these events we're unexpected and in the back of Adron’s mind he knew that to be false I'm his regard. Had he planned this to the T? Of course not, he was not capable of such maneuvering, yet he was optimistic in the regard that this venture would bear fruit, and so it did.

Giving her a soft nod, he closed the bridge of space between the two, inclining his head in a respectful bow. “Then if there is nothing else, I will take my leave. I must report this development to the Emperor and prepare to gather a few things so I may better work from this location.”

High Moff of the Bothawui Sector, Captain of the Imperial Guard, and now Royal Advisor to the Commenori Queen. Of course there was much honor in these titles, yet the workload was sure to be one that will bring on his dreaded fear, grey hairs.
