- Description: The only high school in the Forak region of Trandosha, the Forak High School is home to over 3,000 students of a variety of species, Trandoshan as well as non-Trandoshans. The school comprises multiple buildings, and the main building houses both the primary classroom space and the administrative offices. In real Trandoshan fashion, the high school campus is rather large, forming a square about half a kilometer across. Four athletic buildings take up the bulk of the land area, together called the athletic complex, with more auxiliary buildings devoted to a food court, vocational training and special education respectively.
- The main building: Taking up three floors, it houses classrooms for regular students on all three floors for the vast majority of academic subjects offered there, as well as the administrative offices in the basement. It was built in response to the dereliction of the premises post-Gulag Plague
- The athletic complex: Four buildings take up the space inside the complex.
First, a few gymnasiums for the regular physical education instruction - Second, the crown jewel of the campus, if not the city: a multisport stadium, capable of being used for huttball, bolo-ball and shockball, capable of seating a whopping 18,000 spectators, making it capable of rivalling professional sports stadiums on this planet. In fact, it is capable of acting as a backup facility for professional teams in each of those sports.
- Third, a fieldhouse capable of seating 4,500 built for the purposes of hosting martial arts contests.
- Last (in chronological order of construction), a 25m swimming pool, capable of seating 2,000 for meets
[*]The food court: The school's food court is capable of seating 650 students at any given time, with several outlets for serving different varieties of food
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
With the old campus being all but fallen into dereliction by 750 ABY, the Forak municipal elders then decided to rebuild the high school, at first serving a large chunk of the planet's educational needs, which came to shrink by every passing decade, and Trandoshan culture being what it is, the violent sports that were huttball, bolo-ball and shockball came to become major fixtures in the educational experience of the city residents, with the first three buildings in the athletic complex being built at rather short intervals of one another, with the instructional gymnasiums built at the same time as the academic buildings. Understandably, with such heavy capital expenditures, the school district had to resort to more creative means (by high school standards) to pay for these lavish facilities, on top of the usual after-hours rental of rooms: even selling advertising space within the stadium, concessions to be sold inside the stadium, as well as even allowing preseason games for professional huttball teams to be hosted, with, of course, the school-operated bookmaking service. As a result of using sports as a means to bring in revenue, the school acquired a winning tradition in the main revenue sports (in the Trandoshan context), but at the expense of its academics, which led those few in the region that actually are concerned about academics to seek options elsewhere.
Also, with aquatics gaining traction in the past few years or so, Forak is the epicenter of the Trandoshan aquatics scene, and, with the Crown Nebula Hotel's pool being repurposed for guest experience, some of the funds seized from the Ta'jar Blood Gang bookmaking operations went towards building a new outdoor 25m pool in a hitherto vacant plot of land, with the school expanding its bookmaking services to all sports in an attempt to capitalize on the newfound popularity of competitive swimming.
