Question Force and Magik

To my knowledge, as its been told to me by others, that Chaos does not allow for the creation of Force and Magik spells....

...and my questions are as follows:

  • Is this true first of all?
  • If it's not true, would a creation of spells (more than any Force created abilities) require a Codex submission under the section of Lore?
I'm looking to expand more on the nature of Dathomir Magic, and subsequently spells usage through creation. I am aware of the current list of Dathomir spells, but there could be so much more to expand or incorporate. Many paths.

Any feedback or answers are greatly appreciated.

This is true, you cannot create any new Force powers or abilities I'm afraid. What you might be thinking of with the Codex submission is the Force Tradition but that's for fleshing out practices such as those of the Nightsisters or Jedi or whatever else, not for submitting new powers.

Having said that there are many abilities and powers that should easily fit just about everything you could want to be able to do in one way or another, and a lot of them are vague enough to have plenty of wiggle room! I'm not the most familiar with Dathomiri Magic in particular myself but so long as there's some sort of existing precedent and you're not trying to instantly wipe out another writer or their stuff with one wave of your hand you don't have to worry tooo much about the particulars!

Personally what I hope to do is add some dathomiri flair to existing force powers once my character learns enough to draw from spirits and ichor more so than the dark side itself, as fluff to slow down her dark side corruption maybe. Ik Talzin for example used green force lightning, so i figure what's stopping us from using say, darkshear, but describe it as smoky green spears instead of the usual invisible or black spears? i feel like making them visible is more balanced anyway, but this is just one example.

I know this isn't exactly new, but I think it could help expand a witch's arsenal for those looking to go pure magick and can help one stay on theme if they wish
