Forging A New Path (Jedi/Light Siders)

Avalore quietly cleared her throat.

"I am," she replied, "I was trained by both Master Grayson and Master Nytrau in the practice and use of Force Light. I have successfully used the skill several times to heal and cure darkside related maladies."

Given that everyone asked before she could think of it, Morgana had to admit the questions were solid ones. Though a part of her felt glad for not saying anything, feeling it was best others do it instead. Any other questions they would likely think of before her anyway. Even then as [member="Phylis Alince"] she still had a curious sense about what would go into making a fully functional Mental Resistance Amulet. She followed with everyone to see Master Alince's set up, giving a little awed look for a moment at how well it blended together. She started wishing she had something like it for her quarters in the Jedi temple. After that, when asked if anyone knew Force Light, Morgana looked around; actually wishing she was in order to help. Yet another ability she would need to learn in the future.

“Ah, Avalore, perfect. You can learn directly then, excellent,” Phylis said, smiling.
“Good work with the bellows there, Padawan. Hmm, top stuff.”

The gold was starting to melt and bubble in a satisfying way.
“Now, safety is important. Fortunately, we have the Force, so clumsily picking up the crucible with tongs is not necessary.” She used telekinesis to gently stir the molten gold.

“We have here a mould for the gold which will be our amulet setting. However, first of all we must prepare our crystals. So watch carefully.”

The Jedi Master produced a small leather bag and poured out a measure of ground crystal onto a metal plate.
“Master Eden, I want you to use Force Light on these fragments. Watch closely, all. The crystals store the Force, so by infusing these with Light energy they will take that into the metal when it is time.”

Serena waited with baited breath at what would happen next force light when it touched upon the crystal fragments of the force she knew what would happen. She herself could do this the force within them all when mixed with force light would glow brightly.

It was an incredible affect and she couldn't wait to see Master Eden do it the room would light with prisms of light... Serena got up and moved closer this time, she wanted to see it all so closely, she could feel the heat of the hearth, forge as it warmed the room. The temperature slowly rose up, tiny beads of sweat appeared on every one working a forge was not easy work.

It was work!.

The Chief Healer stepped forward with nothing more than a quiet nod, slowly rolling back the large sleaves of her blue Healer robes. The hands she proffered as her tools today were not the beautiful instruments of a dainty and delicate model, but roughly scarred by Avalore's very first attempt at using this holy power. Years ago she'd tried to cleanse [member="Hal Terrano"] of his mark of darkness, but her own power and confidence did not match the severity of the situation. That day the Darkside won out, the spell backfiring and spreading the mark to her own hands. It had been excruciatingly painful for her, she could not even imagine how much Hal had suffered at the expense of her own carelessness.

Thank goodness for those within the Order who had the patience and the knowledge to show her the grave mistakes made that day.

Kasha crystal in her pocket, Avalore was not distracted by these thoughts of her history. Instead her focused remained simply upon the task at hand and within her she called upon the cleansing, purifying powers of the Lightside. Brown eyes honed upon the gleam of the stones, the Master Healer quieted her mind. Though her power would never compare to that of the former Grandmaster Grayson or many of her fellow Jedi Masters, a certain sense of absoluteness could be felt by all. It saturated the chamber, swelling as her thoughts honed in.

A bright golden light grew within her palms, like a small sun - it was warm and radiated a serenity and calm, overtaking the crystals below. The glow then grew within them as like a tree sifting moisture from the ground, they drew in the power of Force Light.

Phylis watched with approval as Avalore channelled the power of the light into the crystals so they glowed.

“Perfect. Now, I whoever wants this amulet, I will ask you for something controversial. Something which may seem strange. I require some blood from the person this will be bound to. The Force works sympathetically; not in the way which is in common usage, but in that the blood ties you to the item you create. It cannot be used by anyone other than you after that, and it solidifies your ability to use the item.”

“Blood and its use in creation may seem strange, it may even seem Dark or Sith in origin, but it is not so. The Dark Side, in everything, perverts and corrupts, but when used with the Light this usage is not bad.”

She laid out a small blade, some antiseptic and gauze.

“So step forward, only a small amount is needed. Then, we combine it all and we are well on the way to creating the item.”

The gold was ready, the crystals were ready, all that was needed now was the final part of the recipe, as if this was an alchemical cake.

Having watched both [member="Avalore Eden"] and [member="Serena Bouie"] Morgana was surprised to see true Jedi alchemy in action. She was a little taken back by how well and easily the two had managed to perform this feat. But given that one was a knight and the other was a master might have had something to do with it. It did hinder on Morgana's confidence a little but opportunity seemed to strike when [member="Phylis Alince"] wanted a volunteer. She'd been quiet and had kept to herself most of the time but now where was a chance to actually speak up and contribute to the class. Of course she was going to take it.
Stepping forward and raising her hand she proclaimed "I will." a nervous smile on her face.

Blood used for alchemy? Well that wasn't a new thing for the Talith -- considering who his grandfather and uncle were. When Morgana pipped up to volunteer, he perked a brow in interest.

None the less, he would focus on his own set of aurodium. Gold was gold, but there were bits and pieces of 'treasure' he'd found when he was younger. His family would always go on various trips, and Kaili and him would end up exploring and discovering all kinds of knicknacks. A small aurodium nugget was one of his discoveries and he would use it for the amulet.

He was aiming for something simple. Maybe just a circle.

Dair continued to evenly pump the bellows to keep the fire at an even temperature. He gauged his effort against the gold that was melting. He kept the rhythm at the point where the metal would be molten, but not boiling.

He was intrigued that blood was a part of the process. He didn't inherently think that blood usage was an evil act, just one that could be turned evil fairly easily. He was of a mindset that blood, sweat and tears should go into all of the important works of your life, otherwise you weren't trying hard enough. Dair watched as Morgana volunteered for the first amulet, he let his body keep the rhythm he found and turned his mind towards watching the process. He hadn't known before, but the forging of objects and imbuing them with power was something that fascinated him. The simple exercise of pumping the bellows was practically enjoyment in and of itself for him, and he vowed to himself to try to learn all he could of this process.[member="Phylis Alince"]

“Excellent. Thank you, Padawan.”

Taking Morgana’s hand she made a small, neat cut into the palm and directed the blood into a waiting container. Once she had tapped enough she carefully treated the wound, calling on the Light to aid the healing of the injury.

“Now, we have the three ingredients, we combine them.”

Phylis called the crucible of molten gold from the furnace with the Force and gently poured it into the prepared mould. To this she added the sparkling crystals which she had mixed with the blood.

“This is the most important step. Call on the Force, feel the power within and bind them together into this item. The blood, the crystals, the gold, all is one in the Force. When we are ready, we take it, we lower the gold into the water, still focussed upon its structure, and it does not break. Rather, this seals the bond. Now this item can only ever be used by Padawan Forceborn. It is powerful, but it does have weaknesses you will learn of.”

Phylis pulled the item from the water, and with a file and abrasive soon had the simple amulet shining as brilliantly as the sun.

“Now, the final step. Padawan, take the amulet in your hand and meditate, focus your power upon the item and complete the binding. When that is done it will strengthen your will as well as being bound to you.”

Holding her hand out Morgana had to close her eyes for when the blood was drawn. She let out a little hiss before the wound itself was treated. After that she watched and listened as [member="Phylis Alince"] explained how the amulet would not work with all the ingredients together. And because it was her blood the amulet itself would not only work for her. She watched it being slowly built before the final product was taken out of the water and shining like a miniature sun. A dazzling display. But now came the final part, where she now had to focus her power on the amulet in order to make it work for her.
She nodded before taking it in hand and giving a final look around to everyone in the room. She took a deep breath before focusing. And like a reverse deep breath Morgana began to focus her meditation on the amulet inside of within herself. Thanks to meditative training she had it was a little easier than before, back when she still lacked proper training. After a moment and what seemed like the amulet reacting as it glowed a little brighter, the young padawan held her amulet in the air. She hoped she was right and that it had worked.

Serena watched so each of them to do this process for themselves needed to give of their own blood, "Do we give the blood because of the midichlorians? To bind the force elements?" Serena wanted to understand as well as be able to do this process herself.

She began to realize that this process she could make a gift for the Jedi that she served with course asking them each for some of their blood might make them uneasy, but still this was a fascinating process and she was ever so grateful to be able to add it to her list of abilities, even at the beginner level. "Also Master Alince this seems like a basic alchemy, what would make it harder? As what takes it to the next level?" Serena could feel the wavers of the force as Morgana began to meditate

There was so much to learn, and Serena felt there was so little time to learn so much.

Meditate.

Well, that was asking a bit from the boy, but he had managed to learn to at least stay still when he truly needed to focus. Out of all of them, Micah was the one who needed to be constantly on the move. Learning to come to a resting point of peace and meditation took a while, and it was by far one of the most difficult lessons.

Taking the small forged amulet, he put it between his hands. Much like when he had to attune his lightsaber crystal, Micah would summon the Force and use it to blend it with his own essence. His hands would start to give a tiny faint glow, his brow furrowing in his concentration.

With both the padawans focussed on their items (it can be assumed Micah had one created at the same time as well), Phylis could turn her attention to questions.

“Yes, they bind with the inanimate items, helped by the Force infused crystals, and bind it to them.
Serena’s second question made Phylis take a deep breath.
“Hmmph, basic? Basic!” she said with a huff. “As far as I am aware I am the first Jedi to produce such items. I am sorry if I have not matched twenty five millennia of Sith expertise in the matter within as many months!”
Touchy subject, clearly.

She figured the other Jedi had probably not meant it that way, and that she was showing excessive pride in her work. Ruefully, she sighed.
“Hmm, there are three things I need to find a way to do. First I must find a way to make these items as resistant as Sith Alchemy. Second, I must find a greater and more effective power source than the ground crystals. Last, I must find a way to increase the power and effectiveness of these items. None of those are easy, and will require a lot of work.”

oooo she made Master Alince upset, not her intent.

Serena a geologist and scientist began to work the problem in her head, so Master Alince needs different crystals, a form of protection from sith alchemy, and a way to increase power and effectiveness.

A lightsaber crystal could be anything so...the rarer the crystal the more powerful it could be. Pontite was extremely rare. Permafrost crystals could be used for a focusing crystal. She remembered reading about amplification crystals that were silver ohhh she thought ultima pearls are silver...but difficult to get. So if she used a healing crystal, and a amplification crystal bound by the blood of the creator would that combination make the healing crystal more powerful due to the amplication...but how do you protect it from Sith alchemy......ohhh Jedi runes? Or could a Dathomiri provide the right spell of protection? ohhh.... Serena's mind did race with thoughts.

She looked up at Master Alince, "Can you combine an amplification crystal and a healing crystal, or a focusing crystal with an amplifcation crystal...to increase the effect?" Serena knew she should make the amulet now before Master Alince strangled her for asking too many questions...Master Alince may never let her in another class.

She would wait to mention the daughters of Allya.

so the answer to Serena's question was, the more powerful the item the more difficult the task. The forge was hot but served the same purpose to prepare a place to combine the items,..but it was the treatment of each of the items that gave them their specific properties.

Binding agent to an individual was the blood with the midichlorians, the crystals were force imbued with properties...and depending upon the type of crystal the power or influence was affected....but protection...that one Serena...would have to search on...
