Fortifying and Preparation?

Thats essentially what i'm trying to do [member="Sanya Val Lerium"]

[member="Mantic Dorn"] this campaign includes all dominion planets, but I want it to be done through an interesting story, I think that'll make the process fun again

I think it could spice things up, yes.
But single minded dominions are also hard to finish. Several objectives help more players to contribute with different characters.

I could see a campaign objective run as a red thread through several dominions but not more is needed else they will run a few posts by interested and then wither away.
In my own oppinion.

I'd have to disagree, [member="Mantic Dorn"] objectives tend to make dominions feel like an obligation, narrows everything down to "we have to do this" if its story driven then creativity can thrive. It should be fun for the group, and help characters develop.

I think there's a healthy medium ground to be had. My suggestion would be to have an overarcing story arc that many of the threads are related to, and to let people feel free to open-endedly explore ideas and themes related to that. That's particularly important for long-term fun and character enjoyment.

However, for the intermittent writer/newbie and for short-term cohesiveness, I'd have a couple of objectives that people could just jump into as well.

Sort of the nuture via nature rather than nuture verses nature agrument, if you're familiar with that.

I got three doms up atm. Each one got a free for all story option. No dom is restricting prefered storytelling. Fortification could be an alternative in any of them.
