OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Sylva Vitae through Sylva Auxilius
  • Affiliation: Sylva Auxilius
  • Market Status: Open-Market
  • Model: "FreshAir" Emergency Face Mask
  • Modularity: Yes, partial
    • Depending on biological or physiological necessities, masks can be customized to fit the species' atmosphere needs, face shape, respiratory requirements, etc.
  • Production: Mass-Produced
  • Material: Easy-to-source plants & fungi found across the galaxy
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Air purification/rebreather in hazardous environments or for speciesitarian aid
  • Weight: Very Light
  • Resistances:
    • Energy: None
    • Kinetic: Very Low
    • Lightsabers: None
    • Chemical: Very High
    • Biological/Environmental: Very High
    • Radiation: Very High
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The filtration systems built into the flora and fungi of the mask allows for a wide variety of cleaning procedures - dust, radiation, chemicals, toxins, etc. If it's airborne, it's filtered.
  • Its own regeneration properties keep it clean long-term without needing to resupply ad infinitum, with only infrequent replacements of the filtration systems required
  • The mask is a living and breathing plant organism, living in symbiosis with the user. It adheres gently to the face, forming a perfect seal every time (regardless of beard hair, facial scarring, etc), but it is easy to remove and replace as needed.
  • Each mask can last for approximately 48 hours before requiring 24 hrs to recharge by 'planting' it in the dirt.
STRENGTHS
  • The natural filtration system provides unsurpassed protection against dust, chemicals, biological agents, and other similar hazards, with the ability to recharge over time with sufficient nutrient complements.
  • Very high resistance to chemicals & fumes, such as from spills or leakages in the environment
  • Very high resistance to biological and environmental hazards, such as dust, pollen, or natural toxins and venoms
  • Very high resistance to radiological hazards, like nuclear waste or dirty bombs
WEAKNESSES
  • Incompatible with standard technology
  • Zero resistance to any kinetic, energy, lightsaber weaponry
  • Requires significant prep beforehand to manufacture at scale
DESCRIPTION
In concordance with Sylva Auxilius' rationale, the "FreshAir" face mask is designed to be extremely cheap to manufacture and grow, with the process created by Sylva Vitae through Sylva Auxilius (SVSX), but made public domain for ease of manufacturing and cost efficiency. Intended to make logistics just a little simpler for emergency situations, and provide long-term assistance for those in need, in the event of an emergency, the "FreshAir" face mask is simple enough to be utilized by children, but has a filtration system complex enough to cover a broad spectrum of potential hazards.

Crafted by simple processes and easy-to-source plants and fungi, the plant uses micro-pores on the outside of the two 'handlebars' to source air and filter it to the inside of the mask. Air that is exhaled is also filtered up through micro-pores on the inside, to then filter up into the handlebars to cycle through the plant and fungal tissue to renew available air. While this is not designed for extremely high-ventilation-requiring species, and certainly designed around a humanoid's need for oxygen, the actual flora & fungal content of the filtration system can be altered to suit the species' requirements for respiration (such as the Kel Dor requirement for an anti-oxygen mask). Specific tailoring must happen during the manufacturing process, unfortunately; unless specific equipment is used in the field (Sylva Vitae and/or Sylva Auxilius -aligned), the masks are grown for a specific purpose and as such will only facilitate that purpose.

Not requiring straps, an external tank, or a ventilator, these masks are extremely low-profile and require little more than simple pressure to adhere to the face for an air-tight seal. Hypoallergenic sap-based glue keeps the lightweight mask in place, and reduces the risk of it falling off during sleep. The user will find their breath might be a bit stale after extended usage, but the air they breathe is clean and the hazards are reduced to almost nothing. While the mask is durable enough to handle being tossed around, dropped, or possibly elbowed by accident, it is not designed to offer any protection against physical or energy-based weaponry, and as such must NOT be used in a combat scenario unless absolutely necessary.

As usual, very cool sub! However in this form, it cannot be Mass Production, just Semi-Unique. I would like to ask you to modify the Production scale or the resistances.
Resistances: (For each category choose from: None, Very Low, Low, Average, High, Very High, Extreme. Ratings of High, Very High, and Extreme will need to be added as strengths with elaboration.) Resistance Ratings Extreme will require the submission to be Semi-Unique. This Resistance Rating is considered very strong and are usually dealing with unique items that should be restricted to Player Characters only.
