From Little Things, Big Things Grow [Coalition Dominion of Saleucami]

@Cambria Zadira

With her course laid in, the spacer pushed the throttle of her ship. She’d get to the first location, and the loading droids would prepare the drop of the satellite. From there, move to the next, and the next, hopefully without having to worry too much about anything coming in at her. Her scanners were beeping and she finally put the plate of food down.

Slipping her jacket on, space was cold and she didn’t want to keep using to many of the ship’s systems to keep her own ship warm, she grabbed the controls. “How’s the weather been Saleucami? Free of pirates?” Her least favorite thing, but as a Warden and someone who had completed her odyssey per Dawn Treader, she liked to keep up to date.

The Silver Coalition was a great government, and in the interest of the galaxy, their stewardship for the world would help out. Now sure, Kaia was born of someone who didn’t care for the Jedi, but even her father admitted they were doing the right thing.

Riding a tank was fun, but riding a walker was even better! Tempest perched on top of one of the new Valora walker, able to see over the fog. She could see the flash in the fog of the destroyed battery as Kaida dealt with it.

Now it was the time for them to get rid of the rest of them. Calling on her powers she swept aside the fog, and when the Sith came into view the walker opened up on them and unleashed some lightning on them.

Soon the courtyard and breach was cleared of Sith. Now all they had to was deal with the leader.

Kixi didn't even have time to think. Suddenly a massive explosion shook and tore the ground from within. She saw both the children of [member="Coci Heavenshield"] being tossed through the air. One managed to stop herself from falling, while the other she couldn't quite tell with all the smoke build up what had happened. Although she could sense with the Force that he was okay and somewhere. Kixi was only a few metres behind the two children before the explosion had occurred. This had given her a little more time to Force leap away before the ground below her crumbled away. From being slightly on higher ground on a ledge as a result of the leap, she could see the young Jedi girl reach out and find her brother and bring him to safety. They all needed to get out and quickly as smoke and gas was building up fast making it hard to breathe and see. Kixi shut her eyes and concentrated with the Force. The Force would provide her with the vision that her eyes could not.

"I believe I can see a way out of here."

Kixi yelled out to the others while jumping down from the ledge she was on to where the others were.

"I can see where I am going, if you can just follow me, we'll be out of here and to safety in no time."

She would then wait momentarily for the others to decide what they wanted to do before she would proceed to making her way out of the cave.

He felt a great sense of relief when he heard Nina's voice in this mind telling him she was not hurt. Théo began to cough as the cavern continued to spew out all manner of gasses and dust to impede them. Taiden was close by as well, and seeing to other padawans and making sure they got out. He watched him for a moment, herding them out and along the narrow pathway that would lead them to the surface. But the sudden eruption had destroyed that way and another needed to be found.

Théo finally made his way to Nina, "I am here Nina and I am alright", he took her in a tight hug, happy beyond anything to see her untouched save for some dust in her beautiful hair and marred the softness of her skin. His hand reached for her face and brushed away the offending dirt, he would have nothing spoil her not even here in this place. He took her hand once more and began to follow Taiden but soon discovered like [member="Taiden Keth"], there way was blocked.

An older girl, a padawan that trained under his mother for a time, found a new way out, no doubt the result of the shifting ground and walls of the cavern and a new path had been carved.

"Kixi we are right behind you". One look back to check that Taiden was alright with the others, Théo lead Nina out as they followed [member="Kixi Rajki"]. Once they had found clear air and firmer footing out of the cavern, it was now they could take stock of the situation. The sky once blue when they had entered, now grey and thick with smoke from the continuing eruption from the mountain. In the distance they would all see the red lines of lava snaking toward the village at an alarming speed.

"Nina we need to go help them, those people in the village will die if we don't". Théo looked to her with set determination. "The choice is yours padawans", he addressed the rest of them, "But I am going with our shuttle to that village and assist those people and get them out". He did not wait for their answers, they could contact the SSC and request a pick up.

This of course meant that Nina would have to come too, he did not like this so much as she would face the same dangers as he, but he would not let her out of his sight, but he also knew her well enough to know that if he did not go .. she would. A few flying lesson he had would be enough for Théo to get this shuttle up and moving across ground.

Nima Tann

Master of Her Own Destiny
"We are on our way." She said informatively to the voice that was familiar, she thought she heard it before from one of the previous dominions. She continued pushing towards the main courtyard with the reinforcements as she was telephatically ordering her wolf towards the waves of countless enemies, in each bite and strike, she felt the enemies falling to her wolf, in those 2 years, she studied Beast Control since her wolf was a mutated one and sometimes the words weren't enough, and now she could enter his brain thanks to her illusion techniques and feel what he felt. So many bodies have fallen to the ground, allies and enemies both, each filling the clean air with the smell of blood. In several minutes, there were no one standing between the allies and main courtyard, a smile replaced her angry expression. "Good! There is no one between us the main courtyard now, we are almost there!" She said, rallying the remaining numbers.

As they arrived to the courtyard, the inside group were already doing their job and cleaning the area, with tanks and all. Just as she thought before, one of the allies were known to her, [member="Tempest"], who she knew only a little since they didn't have a chance to speak that much but she thought that she was cool. Yet looking at the area more, she found someone else that was known to her... one of them... [member="Kaida Taldir"]... Well, that was another story. The last time she spoke with her, one could say that wasn't the best conversation she had. Right now she could understand her more, why she killed the traitors and such, yet she would remain silent, and don't speak with her unless spoken to. They had a big fight waiting for them already and she didn't want to have a practice match with her for now. "Kill the remaining ones." Then she telephatically called her companion as she felt he was satisfied with the hunt. "Ice, you are needed here." Wild Nima was in control now, she already let the wild out of the cage. Mercy was off the table.

"We are here." She said to her commlink.

As the smoke filled the cave at alarming speeds, the choice of the two children was obvious, and that was to follow Kixi out of the cave since she could actually see where she was going. They, as well as all the other padawans followed her out back safely to the surface. However no one was out of the woods just yet. The sky above them was no longer blue. It too was a grey thick smoke, smoke that had originated from the very same mountain all the padawans had just made their escape from.

Theo for a young child was highly attuned in the Force. He wasted no time in spotting a village in distress. Lava from the erupting volcano was edging towards it at an extremely alarming rate. He began racing off towards it with his young sister Nina after he had stressed the urgency of the matter to the rest of the padawans.

"I'm right behind you both."

Kixi shouted as she hurried off running in pursuit of the two kids. The situation was dire, the villagers would need a lot of help to get out of this one. The more hands to help the better, Kixi would think to herself hoping the other padawans would also follow suit.

The courtyard was filled with bodies and smouldering wrecks, smoke rose up into the air, the cries of the wounded echoed. The treads of Kaida's tank were soon slick with the blood of the wicked as the mechanical behemoth quite literally ploughed through the ranks of Sith. The mass driver cannon reduced an enemy battery to scrape, the flamethrower roasted Sith trying to escape their imminent doom. Artillery fire pounded the hiding spots of snipers and rocketeers, before these as well fell silent.

Soon dead bodies littered the area and the tank came to a halt. Opening the hatch, Kaida disembarked to link up with Tempest. Some Sith minions had thrown away their weapons and raised their hands in surrender. Kaida shot them a disdainful, contemptuous look, but let the Firemane soldiers cuff them and lead them away.

"Courtyard's clear, and our reinforcements are coverging upon the keep. Let's head to the inner sanctum. I sense the 'Sith Master' of the week is there," she called out to Tempest as she stepped through the smoke. Briefly her eyes fell upon...Nima Tann. Well, she recognised the Twi'lek from Kaeshana...apparently she was less pacifist now!

She had received confirmation that the SSC fleet had deployed and began the mission. As 'Blondie' approached the rendezvous point pre-arranged in wild space, Coci went to the bridge after a rest and meditation to stave away the gitters. Now with a focus to attune her mind to, she stood with fixed mind on the navicomp, only ten minutes before the jump is completed. "Open up communications to all SSC fleet, Commander", she moved to the holodisplay in center of the bridge, and watched the stream of data and approaching ships as the sensor feed updated.

"Knight Zadira, good to have you with us", she hailed her ship. The first of the communication beacons had been successfully deployed, operational and linked to the SSC computers. This procedure would be repeated along a carefully planed route through wild space until reaching Saleucami and from there, in a later stage .. beyond.

"ETA to meeting in ten minutes", she added, before she would take her seat. Not picked up on the sensors is a fleet of five crusier ships arriving from Jabiim, about to exist hyperspace very close by. Their interest in this part of wild space unknown but the SSC fleet would soon discover their intention are hostile.

Off through the bushes, up high about 600 meters away, the face of one Kei Amadis could almost be seen, projected of course, a novice attempts at illusions and other trickery. Even if he was seen at this distance, Kelon could likely pass for his half brother without too much fuss, much like when Natoline had been drugged on Kaeshana. Kelon was smoking his usual brand of cigarra, each having a slight spicy scent that you often found from FFE's factories, or rather Uos's employees.

Oblivious, Natoline smiled perky, cheekily almost at Elpsis. Part shy, part wanting not to be, Eyrecae beat her to the offer, which was kinda fun because she to lay back and stretch herself out, sitting along the edge of their shared water, one foot resting atop the other, and sun glistening against her thin t and comfy shorts.

“Kinda okay,” nato said, somewhat coyly to Eyracae, watching her apply her share of relaxation to Elpsis back, always at times like that you realised how much work your back could use to! She totally wasn’t taking the bait to stare, just a bit, okay a little bit. “Miss our pool, n stuff tho. You live local?” Nato angled her chin to take on their sun, angular petite features contrasting the muscular physique of Eyracae all too readily.

Sadly for all concerned Kelon had a different kind of work in mind. Nato’s back to the ridge line, Kelon’s figure was distant, and discreet, with his speeder nearby. As Nato giggled, the faintest of flashes high up from the stone above them could be seen, as the rifle barrel took aim with its dart. Oh he was going to enjoy giving Kei the blame for this one, plus the large bounty her father had on his daughter was mums the word, literally, about how she was dealt with. Kelon seemed to remember Nato's mother had said, to make her suffer like they did, he shrugged and away went his dart toward her back. Suffering that started with hurting everything she cared about.

At last they were able to breathe without running the risk of inhaling smoke or poisonous gas, and yet there were perils around every corner in the form of the mountain coming alive, spitting fire and brimstone as it did. There was no sun shining, but instead thick clouds of smoke barring passage to the blue skies above. Fortunately it didn't take long for the shuttle to arrive, saving them the time it would take to make it there on foot. It was large enough that all the younglings would fit without trouble. An Antarian Ranger greeted them as they began climbing aboard the vessel.

"We've been ordered to take you to safety. Once everyone is onboard we'll head to where the 'Blondie' is located."

This did not sit well with Nina, who calmy walked up to the man and placed a hand upon his shoulder. "We are going to save that village. Drop us off on the way, get the others to safety, then return to help evacuate the people," she told him, practically assaulting his mind with her words. The man was about to object, but a deadly stare from the white-haired girl kept him from doing so. There was a determination in her eyes akin to a beast that would've eaten him alive were it able to. "Yes, Master Jedi," he replied with a brief salute.

Once onboard and off the ground, the shuttle made way for the village to drop by those who would choose to stay behind and do what they can to help the people living there. Nina never bothered to take a seat during the short trip there, instead keeping the village in view the entire time. "There will be no time to land," she told her brother while keeping a steady grip of his hand. "We're going to have to jump."

The walls and the very foundation of Krak de Chevaliers shook under intense shelling. The sounds of explosions could be heard as the ancient citadel was pounded by artillery fire. Firemane soldiers had taken the courtyard and were storming the keep, leaving devastation and dead bodies in their wake. Across the corridors klaxxons sounded, and orders were barked out of the loudspeakers, urging the Sith to fight for the last stand.

It was all futile. Indeed, chaos had broken out as some of the less stalwart Sith turned tail and tried to escape by claiming one of the shuttles. Unfortunately for them, Firemane had brought air support and was not in the mood to let them go. The Sith Master and the last loyal minions had barricaded themselves in the inner sanctum. However, one stormtrooper had apparently decided to...take a detour to the castle's archives. Just one of many expendable grunts clad from head to toe in white plastoid armour, armed with a blaster rifle. TK-246 was utterly mundane by all outward appearances and the trooper's aura was just as banal. TK-246 picked up the pace as she hastened through the corridors, not pausing for longer than a moment to sneak a peek out of the window, which gave her a good view of tanks making short work of the Sith's heavy batteries down in the courtyard.

The library beckoned. It seemed the guards who normally stood outside had fled. But before she could enter, the shrill voice of a Sith commanded her attention. "You there, trooper! What are you doing here?" the Apprentice, a girl who had once been a Jedi and left for obvious reasons, shrieked. In a snap-hiss, her crimson lightsabre sprang to life. "Go fight or I'll drain..."

With blinding speed the stormtrooper suddenly produced a small shatterpistol and fired. The thing about shatterpistols was that they were almost completely silent, their tiny projectiles were heavy-hitting and travelled at hyper-velocity. This meant that bullet impacted before the Sith had time to deflect it with her lightsabre, let alone predict its trajectory.

CRACK The intense power of the round hit the Sith in the face. Blood and flesh splattered across the ground. Without further ado, the trooper picked up the lightsabre and walked towards the door. There was a security panel, but somehow after the trooper had played around with it, the door gave way. Inside one could find various book shelves with tomes stacked in them, though most of them were quite irrelevant. Searching the room with purpose, the 'stormtrooper' eventually hit upon a key book, as if through a sixth sense, and pulled it out. Never pass up a good cliche! The bookshelf suddenly slide out of the way and revealed the real goodies. Time to loot a bit while everyone else was occupied.

Théo did not even have time to make his seat in the shuttle warm. No sooner had they boarded when the Ranger spoke, and Nina spoke even louder! With her suggestion of jumping from the shuttle, Théo could not help but tease her simply because it was something unexpected and surprising from her, she seems to do that a bit lately which Théo thought brilliant! Standing next to her, he looked around, this way and that, as if looking for the author of the words, his face etched in concern having not found the source of the words before giving her a mock look of surprise, but broke out into a grin.

As the shuttle approached the outskirts of the village, "This is as close as I can get the shuttle without it been hit by flying boulders", the Ranger informed them all.

"Lower the boarding ramp!", Théo issued the order. Looking at Nina with a heart warming smile, "We are going to jump". Reaffirming her steady grip of his hand, Théo lead Nina to the edge of the lowering ramp. "You ready? on my mark".

Looking over the edge of the ramp, the wind and smell of sulfur filled the air and nostrils, and Théo began to count down to three. On three he and Nina jumped! Using the force to cushion his land, Théo could feel Nina do the same, although not proficient the landing served him well enough even if he did hit the ground a little hard.

The village stands but a short distance from their landing position, on ground the situation is much more dire than expected as the lava rivers had reached the first line of houses engulfing them before they vanished from existence.

"We need to gather all the people in one point .. over there!" he pointed to the edge of the village closest to them, "and check all the houses if we can, just in case some have remained in doors". His words spoken aloud as well as to his Nina.

Left to the elements, the once grand structure which had housed monks devoted to the pursuit of higher thought had crumbled into ruin in the eight centuries since it had last been occupied.

The small Jedi crouched down to the floor, two fingers poised a millimeter above indentions left in the dust upon the floor. Someone had tread through these corridors, and much more recently than eight hundred years ago. But had it been the killer? Or some other n'er-do-well in the long list of spacers who might have taken advantage of the turmoil around Saleucami? With the Republic in retreat before the advancement of the Sith, pirates and smugglers were common sights. The Hutt Cartel was nearby, as were the vestiges of the Black Sun. And the Red Ravens, or the Techno Union, were not far behind. A lot of black markets to be tapped into, particularly as the Sith sought objects that were outside their sphere of influence. Or Republic worlds, or former Republic worlds, sought much needed food and medicines.

So the crumbling structures of the B'omarr monastery on Saleucami represented a port in the storm for any number of possible visitors, both pious and profane.

But, he sensed a chill in the air here. Not something tangible, not a cool breeze as one might feel against their skin. But the familiar taint of the Dark Side of the Force.

Like the Miraluka, all Anzati were Force Sensitives. And, also like the Miraluka, the Anzati used the Force as a sensory tool. In the case of the former, the Force replaced their natural sight. In the case of the Anzati, the Force was more like an olfactory sense. It was how the Anzati sensed and tracked their prey.

A very young Anzat, like Sor-Jan, was empathically aware of the life in their immediate vicinity. With Jedi training, Sor-Jan had developed those empathic senses into powerful telepathic and telekinetic abilities, but even without Jedi training, Anzat became more and more telepathically aware as they aged. They could lull their prey into a trance, and the oldest of their kind could sense prey from across entire galaxies. And so, as they aged, most Anzat came to possess a Dark Side aura even when they were not consciously aware or trained in how they manifested or used the Force.

These tracks that he found were not fresh however. Three, maybe four days old. Which would coincide with the death of the Eopie ranch hand. So, this had been where the Anzat had found shelter, but it did not appear that the vampire had returned here after the hunt.

Perhaps already moving on, to a next target.

Back inside the not so secret archives, Sumiko had been loading up goodies. Admittedly this rogue cult did not have treasures of the sort the ancient Sith libraries would've prided themselves on, but a rather shiny scroll had been hidden here. The writings of Azazel would be...very useful. Having stuffed her loot in her backpack, she quickly left the library and hastened out, not bothering to close the door behind her.

The walls of the castle shook under continous artillery shelling. Suddenly the floor beneath Sumiko seemed to cave in and, though she received a premonition through the Force, it was not fast enough for her to leap and so she tumbled, falling along with it as it crashed into the next level. She was lucky enough to avoid falling rubble, but pain surged through her body and she was stunned for a few moments. She gradually regained consciousness and managed to suppress a groan. What woke her up was the noise of battle, as she found herself having entered a corridor where Firemane and Sith troopers were firing upon one another. Blaster bolts flew everywhere, bolters roared loudly and blew apart limbs.

Well, this sucked. Keeping her head down, she spied a window, while blaster bolts flew above her head and peppered the wall behind her. Calling upon the power of the Force as she drew the energy inside herself, she wrapped the shadows around her, vanishing from sight as she bolted away from the firefight that was turning into a brutal melee as the intruders made short work of the Sith.

The survey of the B'omarr ruins yielded no useful information.

Someone had been there recently. And the timing coincided with the sudden death of Wel Kicklighter, but other than an ill feeling about the Dark Side of the Force there was nothing concrete that this supposed Anzat serial killer was even a real person. For that matter, that an Anzat was involved in the death at all was mostly a matter of conjecture -- supported only by circumstantial evidence easily dismissed by those people who refused to accept that the Anzat were real. Like the millions in the galaxy who had never seen, or even heard of, the Jedi... such creatures might as well be mythological. The fantasies of spacers with too much imagination and too much time cooped up in hyperspace.

And Sor-Jan might even believe the skeptics, but for the fact that he was a Jedi. And an Anzat.

Part of what made them hard to accept was that Anzati didn't even show up as lifeforms. Even modern medical technology was incapable of detecting Sor-Jan's heart beat. Or his breathing. According to the medical scanners, Sor-Jan might as well have been a walking corpse, or one of those creatures that they'd encountered on Midvinter.

Now there was an encounter that the youngling knight might well have thought of as urban myth or folk tale, had he not been on the receiving end of one of their attacks. Clearing out a section alongside [member="Matsu Ike"], one of the more curious of the Jedi Masters in this new galaxy.

Ki-Adi-Mundi would have liked her, he thought. Her 'generalist' approach reminded the boy of the Cerean's balanced outlook.

His search producing more questions than answers, the boy returned to the landing pad where his ship rested in the night. Even before he'd made his way inside, the small Jedi was already aware that the clone trooper was sleeping. Which meant that the surgical droid would be active, taking the role of a security bot. And, indeed, the 2-1B unit from the Clone Wars was indeed not far from the inside of the airlock, awaiting either the clone's waking or Sor-Jan's return.

As the droid went to go power down for awhile, the Anzat made his way to the cockpit.

If he was chasing some 'hypothetical Anzat' that had moved on, presumably into the shadows, then the question remained as to whether Sor-Jan was going to try and pursue such a creature. Even if so, where would he even begin?

Elara was nearing the city she looked out towards the caldera it was beautiful. At the very center of it grew a single tree.

She was fascinated at how this could have happened, that would require closer look but for now she needed to head into the city. The city teemed with life and species that she had not seen. Slowly strolling along she nodded to those that acknowledged her presence, and smiled carefully at those who smiled. Her canines had grown a little longer since joining the Silvers, she did not wish to frighten anyone.

She looked down the streets and then overhead. They worked hard to keep the sun out and take advantage of the water.

Tempest saw Nima arrived and jumped down to see her, and to bring Kaida into the loop too.
“Nice to see you again,” Tempest said to the Twi’lek. They’d not spoken much before, but she had some inside information that this was the Jedi that Siobhan had, ahem, negotiated with. She put that aside.

“Kaida, this is Jedi Mistress Nima Tann. The way’s open to the inner sanctum as Kaida said. It’ll be close quarters…so the three of us go in with a few picked soldiers as backup. The rest can secure the castle.”

With this done she headed for the final refuge of the Sith leader, built into the rock of the mountain.

Eyrecae stretched. “Not unless Kaeshana is considered local…and it’s not. I now live wherever I need to now though, and most of the time that means Tygara, Arkas, wherever. Wherever I can get wine, women and war.”

Eyrecae was not Force sensitive in the normal way, but she did have good settings. So as she turned back to the water there was a flash of reflected metal. Frowning, she stepped forward to take a second look and thunk. A dart hit her right in the chest.

Eyrecae looked down at it, puzzled, then she growled. “Up there! A shooter! Stupid, using a dart, I’ll split their…” she swayed, pulled out the dart and tossed it aside.
She slumped down to her knees, her eyes narrowed. “You made a mistake…you missed my heart,” she hissed and stumbled up to her feet and staggered forward, trying to climb the rocks herself, but even she was affected by whatever was in this dart.

Feth it.

One moment Elpsis had been trying to flirt with Nato and oggling Eyrecae - and possibly fantasised about the white-haired elf throwing her over her muscular shoulders and dragging her somewhere for fade to black scenes - then things...stopped being nice.

The Force shot her a warning, Eyrecae took the dart. It had been shooting Nato's way. Feth it, Elpsis was not wearing armour. She could not see the shooter, but empathy meant she could get a bit of a read on him. "I'll roast the fether." Well, now she was pissed. A wall of sand rose up into the air. Hot sand. Pissed off, fiery redhead equalled searing sandstorm. First step was using it to hopefully obscure them and make it more difficult for him to shoot at them. Second step lay in super heating said sand and sweeping it towards his general location.

While dramatic stuff was happening elsewhere, Sumiko had evaded most of the fighting in the castle through the use of space magic handwavium that cloaked you nicely, and snuck out of the castle.

By now Krak de Chevaliers/Castle Wolfenstein was even more wrecked than before. This said a lot because the castle had not been in that good shape to begin with. But at least restoring it would generate short-term jobs for unskilled labourers and thus help the local economy. The stormtrooper armour was quickly discarded and tossed aside, then she vanished from the premise, leaving Firemane to fight its own battle with the boss enemy who was lurking inside the fortress.
