From Ripples to Waves

Previously in "Ripples in Water" -- "I can teach you how to wield it," Cronos announced, looking up at Anwen as she twirled the lightsaber. "I would need to retrieve a few items first, however... another lightsaber, for one, amongst other things..."

My bond with Anwen was stronger than I'd realized. Even at the oddest of hours I could feel her soothing presence in the back of my mind, like a constant, ceaseless thrum. The greater the distance between us, the fainter the feeling, like butterfly kisses ghosting against a cheek, or the merest of whispers tickling an ear. Sometimes I'd gaze at a star map and try to pinpoint exactly where she was based off what I felt.

It wasn't until I'd crafted a lightsaber of my own and requisitioned a few training materials from the Citadel that I actually made use of the connection, now that I was able to fulfill my promise to teach her how to use her lightsaber. I'd opened it fully and felt her presence so strongly it had seemed like she was standing right next to me. Meet me on the planet where we first met, I'd told her through our connection. You'll know where to find me. Our bond wasn't a one-way hyperspace lane; if I could feel her, she could certainly feel me.

I'd since returned to the idyllic world where we'd first met in preparation for her arrival. I waited in the shadow of a great mountain, a seeking droid tucked beneath one arm, my lightsaber and a blindfold dangling in the other. I could feel her drawing nearer...

As with the last time Anwen had been upon the planet the air was warm and fresh, scented with the lovely aroma of wild flowers. The sun was high in the sky as she moved closer to where Cronos waited for her, but as soon as she stepped into the shadow of the mountain a chill raced up her spine and gooseflesh bloomed across her fair skin. Shaking the chill off she moved deeper into the mountains shadow, waving the moment she saw Cronos and darting forward in a happy run.

It hadn't been long since she had seen him, but she was excited to see him nonetheless. As soon as she was close enough she slowed her run and stopped just a few feet from him, smiling and panting softly. Once she caught her breath she closed the distance between them and gave him a quick hug. Pulling away she took note of the items under his arm and in his hand, "what are those for?"
