He felt the sudden shift of weight on his left shoulder as he fought on. He glanced to his left when he found the opportunity to do so and saw Ashin leaning against the wall, watching him. The creatures did not attack her for some reason. They were focusing on him instead. <How’d you…> he thought to himself in surprise, but his train of thought was interrupted by a blaster bolt that struck his helmet, reminding him he was still in combat. There were two Sithspawn’s left locking him in melee, with about half a dozen Sithspawn engaging him with their blasters. He punched the one to his left square in the face, breaking its guard. He forced it to lean towards him with his hands and thrusted his knee into the creature’s diaphragm. It growled in pain as the blow landed on it. He put his left arm under the creature’s head, with his right arm clutching its back, forcing it to stay in place still leaned down as he tightened and stretched its neck. The creature’s neck gave out a sickening crack as its neck broke. The creature’s muscles loosened as it died. He flung the body at the Sithspawn at the back to knock them down as he spun around once before he threw the body at them. He knocked down three of them momentarily. He was about to take care of the last Sithspawn locking him in melee as he raised his hatchet for to deliver a blow, but he heard Ashin’s voice from his left. As she did so, he saw the creatures frightened. The very creatures that attacked him relentlessly were backing up in fear! [“WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU’RE GOING!?”] he exclaimed in rage, with the thrill of combat still in his veins. His voice boomed in the sewers, amplifying in its intensity as his voice travelled in the sewers. He threw his hatchet at the closest Sithspawn in a swift action. The cutting edge of his hatchet was buried into the creature’s back with a meaty thud after he threw it, knocking the creature to the floor face down. It was impaired and it desperately tried to crawl away from the scene. He was not having any of it as he approached the creature, stomping its head with his left feet to kill it. Its blood spew to the sides and some upwards as he stomped it. He was mostly covered in their blood now.

He started to cool down slightly after the last kill as he retrieved the hatchet from the Sithspawn’s body. Somehow, whatever Ashin said in that alien language scared away the Sithspawns. They had run away in fear. He turned to look at Ashin. He saw her hands were no longer tied with zip-ties. She was no longer tied to his rope as well. However, she certainly cleared his suspicions whether she was a Sith Lord or not. The question in his mind was what would unfold now.

His muscles tensed up as he expected her to attack him. His blood was running hot with adrenaline. His heart was beating rapidly, but not out of fear. He was still under the thrill of combat. He rested his left hand on his left Kama holster, with his right hand firmly gripping his bloody hatchet as he looked at Ashin.

Ashin Cardé Varanin

Couple bodies in the garden where the grass grows
The Force protection rippled around Ashin, a layer of defense as impregnable as masterforged beskar. But she didn't raise her empty hands to attack.

"Finding a real Mandalorian in these trying times is more difficult than finding the steel," she said. "I wanted to see what you were made of. Color me impressed."

Her eyes tightened fractionally.

"You're a man of commitment, vod'ika. I know your answer if I give you one last chance to walk away. I'd rather not carry a scar from killing you, so I'm taking the choice out of your hands. If you ever need a job, you know my name."

A whirlwind blasted the bloody street. Between one heartbeat and the next, she vanished. A nihilistic part of her wanted to keep going along like a good prisoner, just to see what would happen - but she had a job to do, a quest to pursue, and coming here to Coruscant had only been a step along the way. The lab - well, no doubt he'd destroy it and turn it in. Ashin Varanin's alchemy lab plus the heads of all these Sithspawn should net him a pleasant chunk of change.

The phrase "ret'urcye mhi" lingered on the wind.

He listened to her as she spoke, maintaining his fighting stance. He physically and mentally prepared himself for a possible fight with the Sith Lord.

He tightened his grip as he understood she was going to make herself scarce. He shook his head in response. He could not let that happen. He made a move to grab her by the left arm but before he could, she disappeared from his sight as a whirlwind blasted the sewer section they were in. He lowered his extended left hand after she disappeared. The phrase “Ret’uryce mhi.” lingered in the air for a short notice after her disappearing. He clenched his fist at the situation as he backed up and sat on a large pipeline behind him to digest what had just happened. He hadn’t experienced a bounty eluding him before. Then again, it was a Sith Lord in question.

He had a feeling they would meet again in the future. He considered the last thing she said. “If you ever need a job, you know my name.” In a way, they were acquainted now, but was it wise to work for a Sith Lord? He was not sure, but she was most certainly different. She did not look all that scheming to him, and one could manage to reason with her. But maybe she was very good at hiding her true intentions. He still was not sure what she was doing here in Level 808.

<Speaking of Level 808.> He thought to himself. Her lab was still in place. He would have to destroy it for the bounty, but he could find information on her, with some luck and know-how. He stood up with a purpose and traversed back to the laboratory where he found her.

He was at the laboratory now. He had just passed through the thick double doors as he put his scramble key into his pouch, leaving black bloody footprints as he walked. He glanced at the stainless-steel autopsy tables with the dissected Sithpsawn on them as he walked past them. She had to have a personal terminal of some sort here. He found what he was looking for after a few moments. He booted up the terminal. Of course, it was password protected. He took out his scramble key and got to slicing. It did not take long for his scramble key to guess the password. He did not find personal information, but there was a lot of documents regarding the dissection of the Sithspawns for their alchemical giblets. He later took out his custom datapad and connection cables. He inserted one end of the cables to the terminal’s GIB Port (Galactic Input Bus Port) and the other end to a similar port on his datapad. He transferred whatever data he found to his datapad regarding her purpose here. He would not be able to fully inspect the contents of her terminal’s holodrive here. After the data transfer from her terminal to his datapad was complete, he unplugged the connection cables and stowed them away into his pouch. He would close the terminal and look for its holodrive. It did not take him too long to retrieve the holodrive. He put the holodrive into his back-right pouch where his slicer tools are afterwards.

He moved towards the vial that contained a recombinant alchemical enzyme. He was not exactly sure what this was for. He was a Combat Medic, not a Doctor. He took the vial with him for further research and put it into one of his pouches.

He could not find anything else in the laboratory that would be of use. There was only one thing left to do here now. He approached the pens holding three Sithspawns captive. They growled at him in anger. He shot them in their holding pens one by one. He later opened the pens to retrieve their heads for the bounty. He chopped off their heads using his hatchet with ease. He used his poncho like a makeshift bag to carry around their heads to turn in the bounty. After the deed was done, he set aflame the laboratory using his flamethrower on his left vambrace before he left. The flames would purify the place.

He made his way back to his insertion point after he left the laboratory. He had stopped shortly where the quadrupedal Sithspawns attacked him. That part of the sewers was still illuminated with the Orange Hi-Chemlight. He checked what he could salvage from the backpack. The backpack was pretty much torn by the Sithspawns and was useless. There was not a lot to salvage from the backpack as well. Most of the medical equipment in it was now dirty, contaminated. He would not want to treat anyone with a contaminated kit, exposed to the myriad of harmful bacteria in the sewers. He left behind his backpack as he continued forward.

Objective: Extract out of the Sewers After Collecting Sithspawn Bounties

After a few moments of walking through the sewers, he had reached where Ashin had disappeared into thin air. The bodies of the Sithspawn were still there. He would retrieve their heads after he removed them from their bodies using his hatchet and put them into his makeshift backpack. After he was done collecting their heads, he made his way to where his probe droid was struck from the air. The damage was not extensive as he inspected the damaged probe droid. He could fix it in his spare time. He retrieved the probe from the ground and put it inside his back right pouch. He then made his way to one level up to extract from the sewers. He would turn in the bounty for the Sithspawn and the destruction of a laboratory. He would keep the information he retrieved from the lab and the sample to himself for research purposes.

He left the sewers with questions in his mind he would very much like them to be answered. He was not sure where he could find the answers he would be looking for, though. He could potentially speak with The Green Hand. She was the leader of the Mandalorian Knights. He would have to travel back to Mandalore to get an audience with her. It was a good place to start his research. Maybe he would find his answers there, easily.

The large sewer hatch of Level 809 opened to the sides with a hiss as he climbed out. He never thought he would be grateful to see the cramped streets of Coruscant. He closed the sewer hatch using his wristlink and sealed it. He could potentially come back and make his entrance here to hunt more bounties in Level 808.

He made his way to the closest CSF precinct with the Sithspawn bounties he collected. The pay he’d get would cover the cost of the equipment he used and lost.

This'll be my final post for this thread but I'll definitely come back for more NPC Bounties later on!
