Faction Frontier Liberation: The Ultimatum || The Confederacy

Tarra frowned as her H.U.D. showed increased activity of the encampment.

The cloaked figure turned her helmet in the direction of the arriving suppression team as they drew nearer. Trained well enough to avoid approaching too close by speeder -- damn things were a dead give away. Even at a distance with the right terrain their screech could be heard for miles. That didn't appear to be the reason for the increased activity, however. No, it wasn't a defensive rush below with hostiles setting up a line. More likely that skirmish in town was the cause.

:: Heightened activity at the Mountain Base. Advise Team Two seek strategic response options. :: Like bunkering their asses down, or preparing to leap into war. Fleeing the scene of battle was another option, of course.

With a tap, Tarra switched over to the local channel. :: Team One, Scouting Party, I am at your nine o'clock. Increased activity at the front door. What are your intentions? Over. :: If they meant to assault then perhaps they could try another route. Otherwise, if they intended an ambush then better if they all got into position.

Ryu kept at the turret aimed toward the mountain. If only they were closer and targets in range. But such as life, the soldier from Tao understood that no matter how much a person wishes for something it doesn't always come true. Yet he fully intended to kill as many of these cultists. Whether it be with the repeater he wielded now or just smash their skulls with a bloody rock he'll do it. Subsequently he heard Tarrde's alert that got his attention.

Talk about opportunity.

Then the young soldier said through the team one's channel

"What do we do, Sarge? Personally I recommend letting those womp rats come out. It will make it easier for us to blast more of them."

He targets the turret at the entrance, while hoping Sergeant Hoxton makes up his mind soon. Whether it is to ambush or go straight into the attack. Either way Ryu will obey.

"What do we do, Sarge? Personally I recommend letting those womp rats come out. It will make it easier for us to blast more of them."
Hoxton shook his head as he hunched forward on the steering wheel of the speeder after he had driven them to their destination. He leaned to the side as he checked the coordinates, pulling out a macrobinocular as he zoomed in to get a view of the structure they stumbled across in the distance. His view shifted as their overwatch Tarra Vos Tarra Vos made their position known to him, trying to pick them out amongst the rocks. Of course he was unsuccessful, which was good. A sniper needed to remain unseen.
"We sit the fock tight and be patient. We've got overwatch keeping an eye on their movement and you got a big fock off gun and a happy trigger finger... Last thing we need is to find out at the worst time they got a fockin' tank or some shite."
Hoxton muttered to himself as he lowered his macros and turned to look back. They didn't have many options here other than make some noise. On one hand, he would have liked to have left Ryu and the speeder here to provide additional overwatch, but that would leave them a sitting duck if a tank or something did show up. Would be easier to go in guns blazing but Jas Katis Jas Katis insisted that they be discreet with how they handled the situation. He reached over to his comms as he keyed the mic,
<"Team One to overwatch. Got any eyes on anything that'll fock us pulling up? Armor, heavy weapons, anything that'll put a damper on my day.">

Ambassador-class Corvette Vigil
Edge of the System || R-Duba

Silence. Utter Silence.

Often, one forgets how quiet space can be, especially from the inside of a ship running on bare minimum power. Compound that with a limited crew of organics and you might as well be floating in the void, watching the stars. But Soth had been given strict orders, a single corvette, and little to do except monitor the progress of the team on R-Duba's surface. While the operatives on the ground were carried in on a civilian transport, the Vigil was to act as a communications and monitoring vessel at the edge of the system.

It was also in a position to provide a swift rescue, should the mission end in disaster.

A simple mission, all things considered. All Soth had to do was be patient and wait.

"Admiral, we have transferred all available power to our communication systems. All incoming transmissions from the surface are being monitored."

A tactical droid had approached Soth's command chair, interrupting the Givin's thoughts and directing his attention to the display screen. Of course, the surface team's comms were the primary concern, the Corvette needed to be ready at a moment's notice should anything go wrong. There was also the concern that R-Duba's government may stumble upon the operation. If that were to occur, it was prudent that the Vigil break its silence and warn the surface teams of possible retaliation from government forces.

Then again, Soth also believed that the Maelstrom Brotherhood, if forced out of hiding, may attempt to flee the surface and find refuge in the outlying worlds while they prepare a new attack on the Confederacy. While not the most powerful vessel, the Vigil could certainly destroy any freighters that attempted to flee.

But that was only a possibility. For now, there was only the void.

"Continue to monitor surface teams. We must be ready should they need our assistance."

Team One

As the humming and banging of the speeder came to a stop, Jae'koris listened in on the comms. Appeared to be some action in the town. Initially, she wondered if we were the cause. It was a passing thought. She knew she was working with professionals on this mission. Something else was happening. She looked through the camera feeds around the speeder, checking for potential threats sneaking up on them. One man bumped her as he made his way to the turret. She thought nothing of it, though. It was cramped so it meant nothing.

"Dirt and rock. Rock and dirt. Glad I bought extra filters." she uttered. She could hear the driver talking. And a feminine voice over the comms. "An angel from above? How lovely." She shifted from the cameras and towards the front of the speeder, near the driver. She said nothing, awaiting for a response in the comms with the Sergeant.

Total chaos had taken over pretty much the entire town as zealotry and passion consumed all. Luckily it seemed that the civilian population was making an effort to escape the carnage. Jas, on the other hand, took it upon himself to find the town crier that caused the whole fiasco.

A target that proved to be a pain in the backside.

The Pureblood was sprinting through the streets, shooting and dodging blaster bolts and slugs with every lengthy stride. The man in his sights was frantically sprinting and trying to hurl various items into the street to delay or halt the pursuing Sith which merely served to anger Jas. The cherry on top was the rat’s quick side-steps and dives behind corners which made catching him with the Force incredibly difficult.

How he wished that he could call in air support. :: Team two, I am pursuing a high value target. I hope your mission is making headway. :: He called out over the comms. The quicker they could wrap up their mission, the quicker they could extract. His thoughts were momentarily interrupted when the slug called for help from some of his friends.

Jas suddenly found himself under fire from various angles, forcing him behind cover. Thankfully two other Hellions were still in pursuit through some of the alleys. The Pureblood drew his rifle and returned fire at his attackers with lethal effect. He tried to use the moment of peace to return to his pursuit, but a rather bulky local put a stop to that plan as he tackled the Pureblood to the ground.

The ensuing scuffle didn’t last long, but it was enough to tear his poncho off and waste his time. The man was put down with two blaster bolts to the chest by the angered Commander, who came under fire once more. ”Beautiful bloody day, this is…” He grumbled to himself behind a stall counter.
