Fur, Scales, and Tails (Yuuthayn)

[Hijinks]

Jink sat down next to Yuuthayn, still grinning at her as his arm went behind her, with him sort of wondering if he could put it around her. His tail kept on twitching around, and he not-so-subtly put his face closer to hers.​

"You want me to be a psychopath? That's just the tiniest bit kinky."​

​

She was wiggling her eyebrows at him, and teasing him a bit with the way she was looking at him, and... he leaned over a bit and gently kissed her. She felt soft and warm.​

Well. That happened.... I guess I should've expected the unexpected from Jink, though. He didn't even indulge in flirtatious banter. He just dove straight into kissing me. Obviously, his attraction for me was a bit deeper than I thought it'd been. There was this feeling inside me, almost like instinct, that told me this was a good thing. I took that to heart as I gently placed my hands on his cheeks and started kissing him back.​

Jink purred into Yuuthayn's mouth as he gently pulled her off the arm of the bench and into his lap. Her hands felt so soft on his face, but he felt a little bit disconcerted when he opened his eyes and tried to stare into hers... They weren't hers... They were somebody else's. He didn't want to let it bother him, but it did a little bit. He pulled away a little bit and put smiled a little bit sheepishly at her.​

"This might sound... weird... but... could you change your eyes back to your normal ones?"​

Jink squeezed Yuuthayn gently, sort of trying to make sure she didn't misunderstand him.​

​

"I like you, and all your changing, but... I guess I sort of wanted to stare into your eyes, not ones that you made to look sexy."​

I understood that Jink was only trying to be polite. But thinking of my true eyes made the corners of my smile lower a little.​

"My eyes aren't anything special to look at...."​

Jink kept smiling as he looked into Yuuthayn's face. Sure, it was possibly a nitpick, but now it was something he was serious about.​

"Maybe... but they are your eyes. It's just... I like looking into other people through their eyes. And I wanna look into you."​

​

Of course, for the sake of argument, he was ignoring the fact that Carliah didn't even have eyes, so far as he could tell. That had been just a tiny bit weird.​

I sighed. Well, it was just the eyes. It wouldn't hurt to indulge Jink a little here, right? So long as he didn't ask to see my real body, too...​

I closed my eyes even though I didn't need to. I relinquished my hold on their shifting, allowing them to return to their ugly glowing red with a black pupil. Slowly, I opened my eyes and looked into his.​

"There. See? Nothing special at all."​

Jink grinned and pulled Yuuthayn closer again as he stared into her eyes.​

"What are you talking about? They're beautiful... and so red... and..."​

​

He shut himself up by gently kissing her again.​

I was never really going to agree with Jink on that. I'd never seen beauty in what I was, and I probably never would. But if he was happy with what he saw, then who am I to complain? As he kissed me again, I reached up and started gently rubbing his soft, velvety ears.​

Jink almost moaned when Yuuthayn started rubbing his ears. Instead, it was more like a long purring noise into her mouth as he collapsed backwards with her on top of him. He pulled away again for a second, smirking a tiny bit. His eyes were lit up mischievously.​

"Don't worry about keeping me. If you go on petting me, I'll be keeping you."​

​

He pushed a bit closer as he kissed her, this time. She was driving him absolutely mad.​

Apparently I'd found a sweet spot. Jink was getting all hot and bothered. I smirked down at the pink fluffy cat-man.​

"It takes a lot more than sweet words to keep a bird from flying away..."​

something told me that if Jink had his way, we'd be doing more than kissing on this bench.​

Jink tried to smirk back, but Yuuthayn had found the spot that he really couldn't stop himself from reacting to. He managed to take a breath as he stroked her hair.​

"Mmmm... What if I phrase it differently? Like I'm the evil kitty overlord, and I just want to capture you and show you my castle?"​

​

Not that she'd guess how literal he was being. But it didn't occur to him that people didn't know about the Escher all that often.​

Castle, huh? Real or figurative, it wasn't like I had a job or anything at the moment. Could be fun. I leaned down until my mouth was inches from his left ear. I whispered, making sure that my breath could be felt in it.​

"Well then. Are you going to capture me or not?"​

"I've already started. I was just trying not to freak you out."​

Jink's ears twitched happily at the feeling of Yuuthayn breathing into one of them. He almost wanted her to stretch a little farther and maybe bite the one her mouth was so close to. At any rate, they were slowly floating away from the bench, towards the ceiling of the mall. He gently took one of her hands as they began to be moved upright, and put his other arm around her waist.​

"Maybe thinking of the flight as dancing would be more comfortable for you?"​

The second I realized we were in the air, my eyes went to the ground and my body pressed itself against Jink's. I honestly should've seen that coming. But instead of freaking out and shift-spasming, I looked back at him. All of the sudden, I felt fine. In fact, I felt happy. ​

"Just don't be surprised if I have two left feet..."​

​

I said, giving him a nervous but genuine grin.​

Jink almost checked to see if Yuuthayn had literally shifted to have two left feet. He mentally rolled his eyes at himself and concentrated on the happy feeling coming from her. As they rose further into the air, the purple cat pulled her closer, until her head was resting on his shoulder.​

"Not to ruin the moment, but you couldn't even hurt me if you stepped on my foot here. No floor for it to smush against."​

​

He chuckled a little bit, but the sound faded as he remembered the last time he'd actually gone dancing in the air.​

​

"Y'know, in hindsight, I probably should've done this the first time I met you. Would've saved me a bit of angst, and probably dying."​

Our little dance recital was starting to attract attention, but I didn't even notice. I laughed a little bit.​

"What makes you so sure you would've been able to sweep me off my feet back then?"​

Jink's tone became a little bit sad, despite the fact that he was very happily holding onto Yuuthayn and standing exactly where he wanted to be.​

"You needed somebody then as much as you need somebody now. Except I had a bit of a misplaced attachment to a woman who couldn't be mine... And, well... I hope this is a less misplaced attachment."​

I thought about that for a moment. I'd never really focused on being lonely throughout my lifetime. It was always about killing or running or hiding. The sex was just the occasional perk. I never actually stopped to think about how I really felt. Had I always been lonely? Maybe. I mean, it wasn't like I had traveling companions or friends or anything. It had always been just me.​

"I've never really payed attention to how I felt about being alone. I never thought it really mattered..."​

Jink sighed as he squeezed Yuthayn's hand and looked into her eyes. He was trying to think about how to explain himself to her, and expositing about the castle seemed to be the only real way.​

​

"Sorry... I'm just a little bit over-sensitive on that point. My parents sort of abandoned me because I wasn't like them. I spent a really long time as a shut-in."​

"I'd give anything for my parents to abandon me. They don't even see me as their child. They never have, actually. Just the product of mixing their DNA in a vat."​

​

I shouldn't even refer to them as "parents". I was never anything more than a weapon that they had to raise in order to get a paycheck. I was glad I left. I just wish they would stop coming after me.​
