  • Force Valor
  • Inner Combustion (in response to darkside)
  • Enhancement of saber power on magma based planets (Mustafar, Sullust, etc.)
DETAILED SPECIAL FEATURES AND THERE USES
  • Lightsaber crystal capable of enhancing the fighting prowess of the wielder substantially [Force Body]
  • Lightsaber crystal capable of emenating Force Valor to those around the wielder.
  • Not only can it not be used by darksiders, but it will cause discomfort to lightsiders who are tempted to the darkside. If the wielder should be too eagerly tempted by the darkside, a built in chain reaction can cause the casing around the stone to erupt, destroying the components of the lightsaber.
  • Inherently unstable power boost on the planet type from which it originates (molten surface planets)
Strengths:

[+] Provides the wielder the ability to activate an ability similar to Force Body. In this circumstance, the wielder is capable of overcoming tremendous feats they were previously unable. This includes obstacles, both mentally and physically, at the cost of potential harm and decay. While this gives them the chance to live through what they normally would not, it can often come at a price.
[+] Provides the wielder and those within a short distance a boost in physical and mental ability, via Force Valor. This boost can include resolve, accuracy, dexterity, speed and strength. For those that benefit from this ability, they might notice that they move faster, strike with greater strength, and hit closer to target.
[+] Igneous rocks are inherently hard, giving them a resilience when being handled.

Weaknesses:

[-] This lightsaber crystals violently rejects the darkside. Not only can it not be used by a darksider, but should a lightsider activate this beam and fall to the temptation of the darkside, it has the potential to cause a chain reaction within the stone. The crystal's outer casing cracks, releasing stored gases, that will cause the crystal to explode and destroy the inner components of the lightsaber.
[-] Sensitive to environments that contain molten surface. While typically the beam can be contained by proper calibration of the lightsaber, it cannot hold on planets such as Mustafar or Sullust. In such environments, the beam begins to lose cohoesion, giving it the appearance of smoldering magma. This causes it to drip molten core, causing concern for both the user and whomever the user is combating.
[-] Typically the saber requires no additional input of energy from the user (in respect to the force). However, upon activation of Force Valor or Force Body, the physical and spiritual self begins to erode beneath the constraints. This puts substantial physical and spiritual demands on the user, requiring the risk of self-sacrifice to use.
[-] Just like with typical application of Force Body, this ability causes the user to lose sense of weakness or harm. While that may be a benefit at the time, it causes the user to risk life and limb without understanding the potential consequences. This effect is more drastic in apprentices or knights who lack the foresight to appreciate this undertaking.

DESCRIPTION

By and large, Gabe has spent his time using Jal Shey for the benefit of healing and improving mental fortitude. Likely an artifact of the ease and parallel lines that can be drawn from personal growth and the lightside, he often doesn't venture out much beyond the basic imbuement that aligns with Ankarres. However, following his time away from the war and being quickly thrown back into the action, he decided that his passive approach to crafting is not always appropriate.

Beginning his process with first finding an appropriate crystal for this process, he turned to the home planet from which the Galactic Alliance first formed. Within the depths of Sullust, scattered through the land and within volcanic tunnels, Ignaceous rock formations (with the proper characteristics of metal and temperature), create spectacular orange crystals. Historically, these can often be used as is for lightsaber crystals, forming a beam that often exhibits lava like properties. However, it wasn't his intent to stop there.

Setting down in his workshop, he took time to recall the numerous battles he had waged on the frontlines for the Galactic Alliance. For the most part, these engagements often revolved around combating a particular foe. Time and time again, they waged war throughout the many different theatres. And as he recalled these fights, he recalled the potency of the inner spirit. That when properly motivated, the forced could be harnessed and pressed against the body, allowing action that was often beyond normal means. He recalled the way he depended on this power, which often felt more a desperate move than a tactical choice, when he combatted his nemesis on Taloraan. Realizing the importance of this, he instilled this benefit first and foremost into the crystal. But he did so with the desire to provide this power when choice is given, when sacrifice of self for the overall good is the prime motivation for fighting. As such, it lingers closely to the underlying tenants of the Jedi and lightside.

After fighting on Skor, he realized the value that could be had from boosting the energy and physical power of those around him. He noted this when struggling against one combatant while also fighting off the mental attacks of others, he was aided by an unknown ally through the use of Force Valor. Because of this, he chose to instill this power as a secondary component of the crystal. While the lightsaber is ignited, the user can apply this ability by simply desiring to aid their allies - though it comes at a slight detriment to mental acuity.

Both the usage of Force Valor and Force Body are likely to sap the energy of force users, particularly apprentices and knights who are unaccustomed to such expenditure. Even for Masters, these abilities are similar to a candle burning quickly and brightly. While the boost is substantial, the wear and tear on the user is apparent. Even more so with Force Body, where the inherent weaknesses of the body are no longer evident. While using this power, the wielder loses the ability to discern causality of risk, where as they put themselves in danger without thought towards harm. This, of course, can be overcome with a strong mind but even so, the draining effects are ever present.

Because of the nature of this crystal, being that it is formed in the hands of a lightside user who is incapable of using the darkside, the stone violently reacts to the utilization of the darkside. Trapped gases within the stone have been manipulated in a way to energetically react with the aura of those using the crystal. Should they fall too far to the darkside, the outer casing of the crystal will crack and the crystal will erupt. This will assuredly damage the hilt beyond repair and has the potential to cause serious damage to the users hand and limb. Prior to this, in the twilight between lightside and darkside, discomfort can be felt and will indicate path towards crystal destruction. This pain can come in the form of wrist, hand, or elbow aches in the primary wielding hand.

The blade takes on a very distinct appearance. The outer core resembles burnt orange while the inner core resembles a rotating and statuesque spread of smoke. Between the inner and outer core, flecks of ember appear to be suspended throughout. This is a consistent appearance that only changes when the blade is taken to molten type planets (including sullust). When activated in such circumstance, the blade takes on the normal appearance of a lava based beam. Losing cohesion, the blade appears as lava and can splash about with proper force - providing a direct danger for the user who isn't expecting it. This is a temporary concern that corrects itself upon departure from molten planet

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create something for someone Gabe once cared about, in another life.
  • Canon Link: N/a
  • Restricted Missions: If needed
  • Primary Source: N/a
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Hammer and Honey Workshop
  • Model: Ring of Solace
  • Affiliation: Closed Market
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Unique
  • Material:
  • Inverse set Arkannian diamonds (35 total)
  • Outer band: 45% Steelstone (for texture), 55% Turadium (for strength and endurance)
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Ring imbues the wearer with a sense of thoughtfulness, blurring the line between empathy and telepathy
  • Because of the materials used, the item is resilient and hard. The turadium gives a hefty resistance to lightsaber damage and the steelstone was forged give an ingot appearance.
Strengths:
  • Is that Empathy, or Telapathy?: For those who seek out apathy or emotional seclusion, this ring isn't for them. Imbued with Jal-Shey, the distinct intention was to impart an ability to understand others emotions and even relate to them. On a certain level, this right might give the wearer insight into others feelings with the catalyst being a desire to understand them.
  • Resilient piece of jewelry: While it was not imbued with any manifestation of hardness or resistance to damage, it doesn't really need it in the first place. The materials within this ring are often used for blast door construction, due to their damage resistance.
Weaknesses:
  • Can't be turned off: If the desire is to not feel, the wearer is going to have a bad time. The nature of this imbuement is that it is encompassing and persistent. The viewpoints one will see, if they aren't use to it, may seem alien and unnatural. It can be overwhelming at times. And the only way they can stop it is by taking off the ring. Or...
  • Destroy the ring, destroy the feelings: Breaking the inner banding of the ring or cleaving it in any matter will disrupt and destroy the imbuement. With enough force, it could even be broken, if one were so inclined.
DESCRIPTION

Catharsis comes in many forms. For some, it comes from going a few rounds in a sparring match. For others, it comes from talking or divulging feelings. And for others, it comes from mindless tasks. While Gabe leans towards that final tendency, the truth is that it is often born from simply hitting things with his hammer.

After a request was made, from concealed presence, Gabe decided that he would complete the request - even if he suspected the person ordering the item would never actually receive the ring. Perhaps it was because he was angry or frustrated, because he wanted her to understand where his feelings lied. From that, he took to his forge and anvil.

This particular person is one of the more rigid and stubborn people he had ever known, besides maybe himself. So it only made sense to forge the ring from hard materials, turadium and steelstone being his preferences. The former was used for its hardness, the other was used for the lattice ingot texture that could be easily produced - giving in the tones of an immovable rock, just like the intended wearer.

Carving out a chasm in the material during the forge, he laced the rough and shallow canyon with Arkanian diamonds that had been found during an early mining installation raid in the infancy of the Galactic Alliances tenure. Once he was done finalizing the construction of the ring, he got to the easier part. Well, easier for him.

If anything, it could be argued that Gabe over empathizes with people. Quite the opposite of the person who ordered this ring, who as long as he had known her, only cared for her own concerns and feelings. Such was the way of the Sith. Despite the fact that her force presence wasn't entirely darksided, if it even could be considered a true presence at all, it was clear where her desires lied. Taking to the imbuement with a bit of strife, it took some time for him to center himself and overcome the nature of their former relationship. Struggling with some long buried skeletons, he finally found his way to the center for which he was searching.

At the end of that spiritual journey, the ring was complete. Bestowed with an empathic aura, the wearer would be open to the feelings of those around them. Whether it was desired or not, this wasn't a trinket that offered control. It only offered openness, something Ygdris desperately needed. He decided that he would only wear it when he felt it's call, perhaps in hopes that he could one day show it to her. And then throw it in the trash can.

  • Intent: To provide a personalized pendant for a loved one
  • Canon Link: N/a
  • Restricted Missions: N/a
  • Primary Source: N/a
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Trinket that is constructed for the express intent of balancing the wearer, spiritually and mentally.
  • Super pretty (took a good deal of work to flatten out the meteorite in this form)
Strengths:
  • Aura of tranquility: Imbues the wearer with a sense of calm, both in spirituality and temperament. Such imbuement is meant to be felt intrinsically, as if the calm had been there all along - brought to the surface by Jal-Shey.
  • Balancing the attunement of force: Favoring neither dark nor light, this trinket acts as a tuning fork and calibrates the wearer. Wearing this, the adorned should feel a refreshing sense of balance - as if they can easily see both good and bad, giving them the chance to logically choose which route they desire.
  • Imbued to allow force communication: The trinket comes with a built-in imbuement that gives the wearer limited ability to communicate with the force.
Weaknesses:
  • Breaking the meteorite component of this pendant will destroy the imbuement.
  • No inherent physical powers are gained from the imbuement.
DESCRIPTION
Like most items that Gabe constructs for personal purposes, this one was developed to deal with some personal issue that was frustrating him. Or in this case, the amalgamation of multiple concerns.

From very early on, Gabe realized that this particular loved one had difficulty with controlling tendencies and temper. Unsure of whether this dealt with some unknown component of her past, or simply was part of her nature - he opted to not dwell on the reasons for it. Instead, he decided to focus on whether he could help alleviate the potential disruptions that it might cause.

While he had recently taken to Moku Gane construction techniques, crafting rings and pendants with the likeness of wood grain, he decided that he would return to his baileywick of crafting - meteorite gibeon. Scouring Sulon, it wasn't from mining that this was recovered. Instead, it was from a particularly feisty ceramic gypsy who decided that continued flow of mead was the only way for such a bauble to be bartered. Begrudgingly, he accepted the trade, knowing full well that such mead would have to exceed his typically allotted ABV for which the Gypsy was accustomed.

His preference with this material stemmed from the apprehension of the imbuement. While he was a practiced alchemist, he struggled with restraint when it came to this particular individual. Knowing how she responded to earlier crafting, such as imbued rings, he knew he would need a steadier stance. The mixing of nickel and iron, interlaced with deposits of cobalt and phosphorous, gave an abrasive texture that helped for imbuement visualization. So with it in hand, he returned to his home to begin work.

After forming it into a three quarter rough medallion, he put his humble jewelry skills to use as he set it against a ring of polished electrum. Cracking and grinding down a small kasha stone, he planted shards within constructed divots of the meteorite. And on the setting that extends into the empty space between ring and medallion, a single unimbued heart of fire hangs in gold suspension.

The imbuement took the most amount of time, occurring both during and after crafting the trinket. His first step was to adhere a sense of balance which, spiritually, he had no problem with. But when it came to temperament, he found that he often shared the same proclivities. Struggling over an extended period of time, he brought to the surface a sense of calm that was wrought through persistent meditation. Not only was this adhered to the meteorite, but the kasha fragments would grant a similar boon in their natural aura. Lastly, because of the constant issue with communication, Gabe imbued the ability for simplistic force communication. Meant more as a guide, instead of a full fledged system, his desire rested entirely in breaking the mold. As such, this communication isn't the sort that can occur of massive distances.
