THE TRADE FEDERATION

The Skakoan carefully watched each member of the Sith Order's delegation as they presented their own perspectives and evaluations of the current circumstances. Beneath the armored googles, eyes shifted from person to person, absorbing each spoke word and subtle movement with utmost precision down to the last detail to avoid being caught offguard.

With firm focus, the complete scenario gradually unfolded before the Viceroy, revealing that the Sith adhered entirely to the notion of expanding their dominion through acts of aggression, rather than subtle displays of power.

The Sith may endure indefinitely, yet their influence in the galaxy will always be weakened by their inability to adjust to changing circumstances. Laborr made no attempts to argue with the delegation sent to cower the Council into submission, merely buying them time to come to their own conclusion.

The Trade Federation was a business entity, not an empire so they would never seriously consider supporting military actions against the Order itself, not while they had relations with the Kainate Branch, and the Sith-Imperial Banking Clan.

He offered a coordial bow to, Darth Malum of House Marr Darth Malum of House Marr , and Gerwald Lechner Gerwald Lechner as he moved from his seat towards the exit.

"Regardless of your opinion on the Trade Federation, it is important to forever acknowledge that we will endure even if the galaxy collapses around us. The relentless progress of industry cannot be impeded nor should it, if one intends to rule the galaxy forever such as the Sith desire."

The Skakoan would impart some final remarks before chaos ensued within the chamber. The Skakoan, protected by a formidable pressure suit, remained unscathed amidst the turmoil. This suit possessed a lethal potential akin to that of a lightsaber, as even a solitary puncture could result in the complete annihilation of the entire chamber.

And so the battle was over, for now.

Darth Malum spoke up next, his drawling words offering promises of peace where others—such as Phaelissia herself—seemed to ooze violence. Without said violence, the short-statured cyber-elementalist was little more than a wallflower, albeit one with sharp thorns. And so, Phaelissia found herself holding back the urge to yawn as Malum delivered a calm proclamation, in spite of the fact that she had allocated a single instance of her awareness to listen while the rest of her attention was focused on the gathered diplomats.

Not long after the Marr scion finished speaking, Phaelissia found her gaze drawn to the large-figured representative from Dorvalla, especially as he raised his voice to protest the decisions of the others to sign away their planets’ independence. Venerable though he was, he maintained a strong, imposing stature, his body retaining the posture and musculature of a soldier even with its advanced age.

Unfortunately, unlike the Sith present, Phaelissia did not have a preternatural sense to allow her to perceive events in advance. Thus, the representative’s attack on the nearby trooper came as a surprise, even with the context of his words moments prior. Nevertheless, with her augmented perception driven into hyperactivity, the Aetharian reacted nigh-instantly as she launched herself out of the chair and sank her hips into a low, springy posture. On cue, the cyber-elementalist’s synthetic gaze manifested a dangerous cyan glint, at which point twinned beams of ionized CryoBan lanced out from her eyes to strike the large-figured representative in the upper body, freezing his overworked heart mid-beat and causing him to collapse to the floor, clutching his chest. From there, Phaelissia swept her freezing gaze across the gathered dignitaries, snap-freezing the blasters of two representatives just as the weapons were drawn from their concealed holsters.

However, not keen on remaining in the open, Phaelissia flipped herself over and behind the great table in a swift, balletic motion. As she did, an instantaneous shot of electricity surged out from her fingers to strike an unfortunate dignity in his chest, boiling his insides and sending the body flying to collide against a nearby wall with a sickening crack of bones and drywall.

Not even a moment later, Phaelissia overheard the order to capture, not kill, the remaining dignitaries, coaxing an annoyed groan out from her lips.

When Rovic had been brought to this affair, he had expected that it would be little more than a stuffy room full of greedy, squabbling delegates droning on about procedure and policies. He had not expected that it would turn into an all-out brawl. As the room around them erupted into violence, Rovic, who had thus far been unarmed, moved to position himself behind cover. It was in this moment that the troopers that had accompanied him in originally, now betrayed their facade of being a mere escort, revealing that they were there more to control Rovic than to act as guards. Once Rovix began to move, the troopers sprung into action, each of them grabbing one of his arms, almost as if to detain him. Rovic, shocked a little that they elected to go for him despite events unfolding around them, looked over to the trooper on his left.

"Really? Me? I hardly think I am the biggest threat in the room right now..." He said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

No sooner had the words left his mouth before a stray blaster bolt pierced through the very trooper he had been talking to, sending his body to the floor with a thump. Rovic turned to the other trooper and gave him a look that said 'I told you so'. Needing no further coaxing, the trooper let him go and turned his attention to apprehending the remaining delegates. Rovic, for his part, reached down and picked up the blaster of the fallen trooper and put himself behind cover. A voice in the back of his head was telling him that this was not his concern and he should just drop as many of them as he could but deep down he knew that in the long run, that would cause more issue than it would solve.

Having no desire to engage in a protracted conflict while being armed only with his limited force powers and a blaster, he stayed where he could be largely out of the way, peeking out from where he positioned himself every so often to lay down covering fire for the others, taking particular care to aim for non-critical areas such as arms and legs.

Through all of this, one thing had become abundantly clear to Rovic; he needed to construct a lightsaber...
