Ghosts of Endor

While others diagnosed faults and fixed the issue. More rocks, Uriel managed to shoot a larger one giving her a covering of dust and plaster across her armor. Hearing the commands to hold position, the units around her were being peppered by what amounted to soft thuds against the armor, registered minor damage all the same, one or two blaster shots did more damage. Another crack as one light fragmentation grenade took out her helmet's visor, mangling the front, which she ripped off for better visibility.

“New input. Possibility of Ambush recalculated to 25.7%+” Her bolter started to overheat with its slow and steady destruction of the forest around them. As well as taking out the lesser vegetation, or sprawling growths, chunks of endor's trees were cut out, exposing mostly thicker wood inward, but also one or two hollowed out hiding holes or living areas that their attackers were using for shelter.

Her analysis of ewoks went up a notch and when her bolter jammed finally from the heat, it was discarded to the floor, pulling out the smaller sleek SW-12 pistol. These were a newer design, one of archangels acquisitions from FFE but also one of many that the hutt cartel had access to in her time with them.

Sonic wave charges hit the ewoks in shrieking piercing tones, concussively rupturing the sentient’s it struck, small three round bursts hit limbs rather than entire bodies, but nevertheless the pistol was terribly effective as a terror weapon to those approaching, easy to aim and light weight, few shots were wasted, sadly its ammo was depleting all too fast.

Analysis of SW-12 Jack-Knife, useful.

Fun fact, originally it was intended for the machines in the Matrix to use humans as processors in an immense computing array, but somebody thought that this idea was too complex, so they changed it to Duracell batteries. Totally logical, truly. Regardless, Moira impassively surveyed the scene as the walker was disabled and Uriel proved that FFE's new sonic blaster was very useful when it came to dispatching the local wild life. She made a mental note to order more of them. The HRD tilted her head to the side slightly before replying to Maelion.

"Consensus. Mental instability and presence of independent organic personalities would make walker vulnerable against Force-based mentalism. Design shall be modified as suggested." Rather than letting the organics remain independent, their minds would be linked and synchronised with the machine. In effect, it would come close to creating an AI. No memories of their organic lives would remain. "Precautions will have to be taken to prevent the machine from becoming too independent." Ah, the irony!

Far away from them, the mechanical wasps had scouted out the Ewok village, and now droid bombers swooped down from the sky. Stirred up by the noise Ewok warriors were rallying, chanting feral war cries. Perhaps some of them realised the impending doom and so they turned to flight, fleeing into the forest or secret tunnels. However, it did them little good as the flight of bombers unloaded their payload in form of incendiary bombs. Within moments the village had been set alight and bathed in flames, which spread from tree to tree, producing roasted Ewoks.

The 'battle', such as it was, was winding down. With the bombers having smashed the Ewok village, the natives had fled.
That left just the disabled walker. The HRDs, along with some transports, came and dissected the walker to no trace of it would be left. It would rise again!

"All units withdraw. Analysis and conclusion reports are to be forwarded to the command matrix," Maelion ordered those in the field.

Uriels new order countered her primary orders, so there was a pause and readjustment. Watching bombers efficiently remove the offending targets from their holes up ahead was almost gratifying if she could have felt it, a forest on fire, she would remember the use of bombers as an efficient means of destroying ewoks, or trees for that matter.

“Command registered and initiated,” she and several of those around her said in unison, leaving the battered form of the walker and continuing a small walk of their own back to where they were directed.

It wouldn’t be long before Uriel was back in a holding chamber, the primary part of her brain responsible for memory removed, her extendable jaw much like a hard-disk holder, or something out of a puppet show for the uninitiated. With the memory removed, there was always a difficulty to adjust while still switched on, seeing the world with no recollection of what any of it meant, she acted much like a newborn, until a fresh copy and updated program was inserted back into her mouth.

Uriel Drone Conclusions….
Drone Rating to follow, please stand by….

Adaptability – Average, requiring containment loops for pilot's thoughts of freedom, and a spare limb for repair.
Defensive armament – Good, effective at Ewok hunting and termination of small sentients.
All Terrain Analysis – Multiple limbs useful, uneven or difficult conditions favourable when facing limited wheeled or tracked vehicles.
Potential Dangers and threats to consider – Falling ewok homes | Pilot Error | Stampeding Cannocks

Thank you. Have a pleasant extermination.
