Girl Talk (Jairdain)

Asajj had made a home inside her fathers small farmhouse outside the main city on Iridonia. She had finally gotten her new legs and had been working on relearning to walk day after day. It was a boring day like any other. [member="Vaulkhar"] and Krest had already left the house leaving her to her own devices. Something about Commenor was all she could remember.

But she was bored. And restless.

Deciding today was a good day to really test out her recovery she ended up walking all the way to the home the two she lived with frequented. Of course, she was exhausted. Panting like a dog left in the heat too long she knocked on [member="Jairdain"] 's door. "H.. Hey! Sorry to bother, but could I come sit down?"

Jairdain of course knew of Asajj, but had yet to actually meet the girl. Hardly a girl in reality, but a young woman. She was actually older than Jairdain had been when she first lived on Iridonia.

When the unexpected visitor knocked on her door, Jairdain was surprised, but not mad. She was one person who generally took things in stride and this was just another event to another day for her.

Not one to ignore the call of somebody in need, she opened to the door to Asajj with a welcome. She was well enough known to the people here, she would not expect an attack from them. Besides she was friends with the kind and if that happened, prices would be paid.

Welcoming the girl in, she motioned to a chair nearby.

"Would you care for a drink? Travelling the desert isn't easy. What brings you here?"

[member="Asajj Novar"]

"Water. Water would be good." Asajj gulped down air as she stumbled into the home and out of the burning sun. She had definitely overdone her exercise for the day. Plopping down in one of the chairs she reached down with both her arms to rub at her cybernetic attachments on her legs. She paused midway though, remembering that she still only had one hand. Frowning to herself she pulled her injured arm up and rubbed with her right arm instead.

"I appreciate you letting me in. I decided to come see the one my father and Vaulkhar keep coming over to see." Finally having caught her breath she looked over at [member="Jairdain"] , studying her with her one good eye. Jealousy was the first emotion she felt, mostly due to how much [member="Vaulkhar"] ended up with this woman, and she could see why. Asajj tore her gaze away, frowning at her own petty emotion for a person she had just met. Someone who brought her father back.

"So you're Jairdain, the woman who saved who my father was. It's a pleasure to meet you."

In less than a minute there was a glass with a pitcher of water on the table next to Asajj. It was clear through the Force the girl was worn out and hurting, but yet oddly accepting of it.

"I am glad you did. Yes, I am Jairdain Ismet. You are Asajj then?"

Extending a hand when the glass of water was set down, she offered to shake it with a friendly smile.

"Would you like me to check and make sure you're not hurt? That is quite a walk."

[member="Asajj Novar"]

Before she took [member="Jairdain"] 's hand Asajj poured herself a glass, which proved a bit more challenging then she'd like. Her arm was still weak and with only one hand she tried her best to lift the pitcher. She did and even poured herself a glass without making a mess, but not without a couple close calls. She downed half the glass with that same hand before finally taking the shake, smiling up at the blind woman.

"Yeah, I'm Asajj. And, if you wouldn't mind. I don't think my legs are use to their weight and they might be chafing." She glanced down, her smile fading for a moment. "I still can't bend over enough to check it myself."

She was patient while Asajj filled her glass and took the drink she did. There was more where that came from if she finished all of it, but Jairdain did not think that was going to happen any time soon. After the hand shake, Jairdain took a seat and waited for the young woman to introduce herself.

Asajj was a mystery to her, but somebody she felt she might be able to be friends with. Looking at some things in that light, she softened up and let her guards down. She did not mean to harm her and with how Krest was now, Jairdain did not feel she ever would. Maybe at one point in time, but not any longer.

Nodding when Asajj said yes, her focus in the Force moved to the legs of her and she might feel it. When Jairdain found areas of stress, she would send some healing to them and watch as the glowing of the pain faded from her vision.

"I am sure that will come in time."

[member="Asajj Novar"]

"I hope so. I'd like to be able to put on shoes again." Which, she wasn't currently wearing. The cybernetic feet were made with the idea that being barefoot was a must until her wounds healed more. She wiggled her fake toes a bit, frowning as she looked at them. They felt real, but she knew it wasn't. That she wasn't whole anymore. This saddening thought overtook her for a moment before she blinked and looked back up to [member="Jairdain"] , forcing a smile.

"Ah, right. Manners. I thank you for the drink and the chair. And for letting me in." She reached up to scratch the back of her head with the wrong arm again, catching herself halfway and quickly switching to her intact right hand. "So... What is it you do that has Vaulk and my Father so entranced?"

Her sight allowed her to see beyond the surface and the false face Asajj put on was lost. However, a reassuring hand would be placed on her shoulder if the girl allowed it. The emotions she wanted kept hidden were as clear as day to Jairdain.

"Be yourself around me, Asajj. My gods know I am myself."

A broken self, but she was still an honest and open woman.

"You are welcome to stay as long as you need to."

Taking a seat on the couch, she was a little surprised, but not quite taken aback by the question Asajj asked.

"Your father and I have a long history together and he found me not too long ago on Voss. I needed a place to hide and escape so he rebuilt this land for me here. As for Vaulk, we are training each other in various skills. Fighting mostly since my education is lacking in that area."

[member="Asajj Novar"]

Asajj could only give a sad smile in response to [member="Jairdain"] 's permission before hanging her head low, peering at the floor. If only the Dathomir remembered what it was to be herself. She listened to the blind woman's response, blinking slow to take in the information. Then she laughed, lifting her head to once more look at Jairdain again. "That's not exactly what I meant. I can see it when ever Vaulk goes out to see you. He's not coming here to train. He just wants to be around you. When ever he and Krest talk about you his face lights up in a way I didn't think he'd allow himself."

The smile faded again as she glanced down to her imperfect form. The bandages that covered gruesome scars, the missing limbs. "He seems happy." Once again jealousy flooded her mind. The half breed never seemed that way around her. Was he protecting her? Was it her scars? She hugged herself as best she could, just staring at the ground again.

She really did not know how to respond or react to what Asajj told her. Always one to easily be able to see the emotions of others and she did not feel Vaulk or Krest were exceptions to the rule, maybe she was missing what he did feel for her. There was one thing about Jairdain and hopefully Asajj noticed or knew already, she was not a deceitful person. So as this conversation progressed she was not keeping anything hidden from the girl.

"I do not see this light you speak of, but that shouldn't be expected of me. What have they said about me? Your father was a master to me at one time, still is in a way I guess. Vaulk is also his apprentice and better suited to train me in certain things."

It dawned on her that Asajj had strong feelings for Vaulk and she set her mind to something. Jairdain herself did not actually love Vaulk, but they gave each other something they both needed, so for now that would remain. After everything was done though, she would see these two together.

[member="Asajj Novar"]

Asajj let out a sad laugh as [member="Jairdain"] spoke. "Ah, yeah. Sorry. You'd have to be able to physically see I guess to notice it." The girl idly began to scratch at her bandages, leaning back in her seat in an attempt to not be so completely awkward. Who was she to lay out all her emotions to a stranger? "They just really like being around you. Makes em happy, smile even. I do think its good. Vaulkhar deserves to be happy, even if he refuses to allow it." She then reached out for another glass of water, downing it rather quickly as she remembered how thirsty she was.

"But!" She gasped out after finishing the glass. "I shouldn't be here only to vent my jealousy. I should get to know you who saved my father from himself."

Maybe the comment had been made out of some form of spite, but Jairdain did not think so. She had opened herself to it by making mention of her not being able to see the faces of either Krest or Vaulk.

"What I do is unknown to me, I guess. There has been a change in both of them though. Especially your father and that change I did have a large part in."

She would assume Asajj knew much of her past. Not how much though and she did not elaborate, but would if the girl asked.

"Why are you jealous anyway?"

[member="Asajj Novar"]

"Bringing someone back to life certainly is a large change, isn't it?" She shrugged a bit. Not that she'd ever returned to life. Or died. But.. She certainly felt like it. Asajj once again rubbed at her stubbed arm, peering away from [member="Jairdain"] in silence. She was still uncomfortable enough about herself to always have her thoughts wander back to her wounds. Her frown deepened. She couldn't keep thinking that way.

The blind womans last question however caused the young Dathomir to blush bright red. "I.." Her words caught in her throat as she looked around the room, thinking. Why did she feel so jealous? "He's kind, strong. When I was surrounded by those who only saw a broken girl he saw me. There was no pity from him, only kindness." She lightly touched the bandages around her face. "It's like he saw me as me, not my scars. It makes me feel.. I don't feel alone around him. I don't feel so.. Broken. I guess I'm just jealous that you seem to make him feel the same and I don't."

"Depends on how it is done, Asajj. You know your father hurt me very much in the past. When I brought him back, I had to ensure he couldn't do it again to me. So it was more than simple necromancy that I did. I guess a part of me implanted itself on him and brought about this change."

Jairdain listened to the answer to the question she had posed and smiled.

"He is everything you describe and he's also a warrior. However, I don't see a broken girl in you. Despite the fact I can't actually see you, but within you is a soul to live and keep going. You're strong and he'll see that."

If he didn't she would have words with him.

[member="Asajj Novar"]

"You think so?" She sheepishly spoke up, a faint blush on her cheeks. It was a foolish dream, but was it something that could actually happen. She dared not think on it anymore. She poured herself another glass of water, downing it quickly. "So um.. Would you be up to telling me about yourself?" Asajj drummed her fingers on her glass, peering around the room for anything that might tell her more about the blind woman while she waited for an answer.

"I do."

There was truth and confidence in her tone and rolling off Jairdain. Something maybe a bit infectious and hopefully Asajj picked up on it. When she asked Jairdain to tell her about herself, she was a bit lost.

"I am not sure what you may or may not know already. My home planet is gone. Destroyed by something unknown. I always thought it was Force related, but others have suggested it was Netherworld related. For a few years I wandered around on a freighter until they dropped me off on Voss. When I was padawan, I was sent on a mission by my then master and taken captive by some cultists. Rescue came from another government and while I recovered with them, one of their Jedi masters put me through the Knight trials. Soon after that I returned to the Silver's. After that, I think you know most of it.

"What about you?"

[member="Asajj Novar"]

"Haa.. Nothing crazy. Daughter of a Sith, of a king. Doing stuff." She blatantly danced around the subject that was herself. Instead, the girl was far more interested in what [member="Jairdain"] spoke about. Kidnapped? Multiple times? She seemed to have worse luck than the Dathomir with her history, yet she seemed so calm and sure of herself. Maybe it was a facade, but maybe there was real strength in the blind woman.

"Why, uh. Why did you bring my father back. I know what he did to you. He was dead and gone, why bring that pain back?" There was more to the question than she let on. Why dredge up a wound better left forgotten? Why face that?

On as much the same way Asajj was curious about the life Jairdain had, she was curious about hers too.

"I wouldn't know what it's like to be the daughter of a king. What is that like?"

Their past is what made them who they were and the days Asajj asked about she had pretty much already worked through. She really was confident and secure about her past, it was her recent past that affected her now.

When asked why she had brought Krest back, she did not hesitate to answer.

"There were a few reasons, but mostly...I wasn't fully in my right mind honestly. I wanted to know why he had done what he did to me."

[member="Asajj Novar"]

"I wouldn't know either. I.. Well this is my first time ever being here on Iridonia." Asajj mumbled a bit, embarrassed. The princess who not only wasn't born here, but had never even walked its surface. And still couldn't. She relished in the other topic about [member="Jairdain"] and her father. Anything that kept it from being about her. "Ah, that I understand. Needing to understand, to know. There's a couple things I'd like to know, though the folks I'd want to ask can't be brought back."

"I've spent time here off and on...well for years. Never entirely as a guest of Krest, but as just somebody that lived here. Though he did grant me the land originally. Thought I would never return and the house fell into disrepair. He built this one and brought me back. Where did you grow up?"

Connection or not, it would be better to get information from the person she was speaking to and not from the mind of Krest. It indicated an outside interest and would incline Asajj to open up to her. The starting of a friendship was being planted and Jairdain hoped it would blossom.

"What would you like to know from these people?"
