You do understand that in order to get better you have to play them more, right? Besides, most of it is quick thinking, strategy, and possibly some luck. Also, to get your reaction times up and to be able to keep up with the fast-paced games, again, you need to play them more or find another way to up your reflexes.
Even people who are good at those games often make mistakes, such as myself, and we often screw up. It's normal to not be good at a game you barely play or just started playing.
Try Assassin's Creed, it has both quick thinking and intense parts, and laid-back and stealthy parts. Try that.
