I have finally sat down and read through all your posts here. I must say that there are many great views on both sides of the discussion and all of them very valid. I am in favour of waiting ... for now.
But now I shall address my points for going major. Not to say that my view is going to be filled with wisdom or even correct and I will address the main points that you have against going major.
Firstly, due to the machinations of the boards we do need to establish as a major faction for the purpose of restricting the threat of invasion from either friend or foe. As you know, if you have the space (influence cloud) on the map they have to approach the leaders (admins) in order to actually do the thread, we do not have to agree to it. This will secure us from this threat, I would hate to see all our hard work gone because the foe or others decided to dominion Voss. If we are to remain in isolation within our own space we need this. If the Repubs come and dominion Voss we are back where we started under their laws etc. If it is the foe then we would have to leave and start all over again. And as you are all aware, there is not much left on the map and find another canon/or non canon planet is hard work. We have a great set up a great Temple that I would like to see protected.
We do not have to go off doing dominions/invasions (as least not in a warring way but through other means) to increase our space, in fact I don't really want to see us grow big in this regards but our own space to protect and RP in that in secure would be prudent.
Dominions and invasion are there for a certain type of RP, perfect for the Govenments etc., but we are not a government (ICly) but a group that lives within set space along side the governments of the individual planets that will fall under the influence cloud, again I will state this is a game machination that can not be avoided, but we can tweak it to our Faction Code and goals.
Even if we go major, this does not immediately equate to change our goals or code or the way we RP ourselves as individuals or as a faction.
Now, OOC drama which for the most part you all have issues with. I am of equal thoughts to you all. But again this will happen if you allow it too. I have absolutely no desire to get into this stuff, it is the reason I left the Repubs as well. If and when I came into skype (which is where it all happens mostly) I only really want to talk to you all about anything BUT faction stuff, small stuff is fine, but anything major that involves other factions is out for me. That I will have done through the boards if they wish to talk to me on whatever they care to.
I much prefer for all discussions that involve the faction and it's direction to be done here .. and I applaud you all for this thread as it IS the way to go with us. I much prefer to have us transparent so we all know what is happening what is being discussed and for all of you to have your say. I have seen far to much BS done in other places that does not allow for it's members to voice concerns and have to abide by the decisions of a few that for the most part is not inclusive of the whole.
So, I would like to see us go major .. form our protection mechanism for our faction, which we may or may not use, but have it there if and when we need to move.
I would be happy to put this up for the vote for everyone to decide if that is what you all would like. Let us know.
