Going Minor

I apologize for my absence, but I've been taking time to mull over a very tough decision. As things stand now, I don't believe that the Galactic Republic is in a good position as far as the map game is concerned. I'm not giving up on this faction, but I believe the right decision now is to withdraw from the map game to take a breather and regroup. Work on our image problem and whatever else appears to turn people off to the GR. Hopefully, the other Light Side factions will pick up the slack in the meantime. If some of you are dismayed by this decision and choose to leave the faction for good, then I understand.

I'll begin the process this week. Then from here, I suppose we can discuss where we want to go during the downtime. I'm up for going the Rebel Alliance/Resistance route for the time being. We could definitely take advantage of the Rebellion mechanic in that form. Rebellions give us the power to write the way we want, and actually approach conflicts asymmetrically. Feel free to share your ideas below.

If it is what the faction will want. I will support either decision. My vote will be stayed as I have done nothing with the Republic for quite some time as I just came back.

Sounds fine with me. This faction has some of the best writers I've seen as far as quality of their content, and I'll be glad to continue writing with them.
But if others on the site need us to cool down for a while just to reset things, I can dig it.

Let's hope that the Mandos won't finish the Azure dom too fast - or else we will have wasted our shot at striking back at them. By now you know we need two weeks after we go back to minor status to initiate a rebellion, but also we have two weeks to initiate a rebellion once the T3 status for a dom has been acquired.

For the time being they are way too busy with the Hanging Tree.

"Hey, maybe we should go minor."

"No, we're not going minor."

"Okay, let's try to fix things."

"Lol jk, we're totes going minor."

Look, I'm not trying to be an ass here (which is something I say almost exclusively before being an ass), but we had this discussion. You guys shot it down, so folks started working on the assumption that the GR was staying major. So forgive my bafflement here, but what in the actual kark, over?

Oh it's more than that. Going minor is a membership vote. Mantic tried this with the Hutt Cartel before and it not only saw him evicted, but it saw the Cartel outright die as disgruntled members jumped ship. This should be a vote, not a staff decision.

Two different votes, hon. One is a leadership vote and the other is a faction direction vote :p I ain't starting either simply because, primarily, I don't care lol I'm just pointing out fallacies, incompetency, and what is and is not the roles of leadership :p

By all means, if you or anyone desires a vote on either, go ahead. I'm just sitting up in my balcony cracking jokes at the folks on stage :)

I am one hundred percent in opposition of this.

If you do this GR will never recover. I've seen it happen before and I can see it happening again.

I've been putting in a considerable amount of time for you folks, and even betrayed all my OOC friends IC to help keep you guys floating.

So yeah, I'd say don't do it please. Failing that I call a vote of no confidence. No offence to you Suravi, I just adamantly believe this is the members decision.

It was clear enough last time that we were to stay major: we wouldn't want to lose what players we got from the wake-up call on Kashyyyk.

If we eject the FO maybe [member="Jack Raxis"] or [member="Michael Sardun"] could become the new FO. But is a vote of no-confidence worth it now?

I don't think having an FO that's also heavily affiliated with the Jedi is a great idea. I mean let's be real, Sardun could easily sweep a Grandmaster vote and be top dog. Not a bad thing, but Grandmaster and FO? Tends to eat a lot of your time and inspiration up.

I uh... wow, lol. Kinda speechless here, guys!

All I got to say right now is that I wasn't and aren't planning on going for Grandmaster with Sardun. I don't really need the IC title to push for activity within the Jedi Order and if it were up to me I'd rather reserve the title for someone else who is more deserving.

Suravi's got my confidence, though. And I don't think we should rush into anything, while the emotions run high.
