Going Minor

[member="Jack Raxis"] I'd like to know what other writers think about calling such a no-confidence vote. As much as we'd like to respect the previously agreed-upon wishes of staying major, we should respect their opinions about calling said vote as well.

Here we go again. :p

I don't think we're at a point where we have to go minor yet. Yeah, it's rough, but not a disaster yet, and with this increased in people and energy and motivation, we can definitely come back.

All I really want to see is more faction-oriented, goal-minded RP. Whether it's major or minor doesn't matter to me, as we can write together regardless. I have to note though that invasions and Doms have been the biggest reason why this hasn't happened. Writing suffered, community suffered, because of them.

On another note, I'm really glad to have people coming in like [member=Michael Sardun] and [member=Jack Raxis] (who's contributions are most certainly appreciated), and we certainly need a focus on recruiting new writers.

EDIT: Just to clarify, while I do not particularly think the faction should be either major or minor, I want to be clear that I feel a new vote should be made on the issue.

I looked back at how close the vote was on this question (it was split when I made my statement in that thread), and at our current dismal activity levels before thinking this issue over again, so I don't feel that a new vote is needed. It's nice that some of you are voicing your dissent now, but I know that certain commenting members will just go back to their hole or back to their main faction just to keep pummeling us if I kept us major as we are now. I appreciate the recent influx of newcomers and returning members. Hopefully, you'll stick around during this down period. I brought in one of my good friends to help us with writing on the Jedi side and on some much-needed development threads.

Like I said, I'm not giving up on this faction, but we're not in any shape to be dealing with all our enemies while also trying to get back on our feet. I'd rather have us write and recruit in peace off the map while we build up some momentum for a comeback instead of having our energy and attention continuously sapped by invasions. The GA and SSC can shoulder the burden for a bit and be our buffer for a change. Maybe they'll learn to appreciate our struggles in the process. I'm assuming the Crusading party is going to be brought to them sometime in the future, so there will be plenty of opportunities for PvP if that's your thing. We can still do Rebellions and Skirmishes no matter our status.

Last thing, I'd like us to stop treating each other so terribly. We get enough crap from douches and trolls from outside of this faction that we don't need to be adding to it tearing each other down. I really think that's our most serious hindrance. At the same time, please remember that this is all supposed to be a game played for your amusement. If you find yourself getting angry or stressed out by the happenings on this site, the I'd advise you to take a break.

Suravi if you go minor you will have taken away almost all of my incentive for being here. I genuinely want to help, but I wanted to help keep us major. What I'm seeing right now is eh.

Very Demoralizing.

New poll is up. Things change. People are getting interested again, almost certainly because of this very issue.
Now capitalize on it. Drop the polls and get a faction event going. Have a party, build a wall (and make the Sith pay for it), make a (IC) scandal, host an election, write some laws, go on a skirmish, etc, etc, etc. Doesn't matter what you do, just do it before people lose interest.

As one of those people who peeks in during lulls in his main faction, it's disheartening to see this thread go from "should we take a break?" to "no confidence in our leadership." If things can devolve that fast, then it's hard to see hope for you guys as a faction. It's been a long time since the GR was respected on the board, but it doesn't have to be that way. Seize the moment, ignore the haters and get people involved again.

And don't be afraid to be controversial. Most of the GR RPs I see are business as usual. Sparrow's reign as SC was one of the more entertaining moments, I'd like to see that kind of thing again.
