Going On A Gorog Hunt

Nyx

Nyx had done many things most people would call dangerous. Picked fights with wookies, gotten her face ripped off by a krayt dragon, double crossing a Mandalorian, and numerous flings with species and individuals that made the toughest gangsters reconsider. But what she was about to do was definitely number one on that list. For a million credits, she was going to capture a Gorog. Alive.
To say that this was not her smartest career decision was an insult to understatements.
Her little expedition began with finding the damn thing. She traveled from planet to planet, from cantina to cantina, searching for anyone that knew the whereabouts of one of the behemoths. But no matter where she went, the answer was always some form of 'no'. The mercenary knew that people thought she was insane for trying to find a Gorog, and frankly, she couldn't blame them. She probably was.
But a million credits.
That made it all worth it.
Finally, in a rundown cantina in Mos Eisley, she had some news.
"Yeah, I heard about one." the Duros bartender informer her. "Smuggler came through a few days ago, saying they had found one in a sinkhole on Utapau."
After flipping the Duros a few credits for the info, Nyx took the nearest shuttle to Utapau, her stomach queasy as she awaited her arrival on the planet holding her very deadly quarry.
When she arrived on Utapau, the street rat calmed her nerves with some liquid courage while she interrogated the local patrons for info. She knew it was in a sinkhole, she just didn't know which one. Luckily, a Gorog was rather big news, and talk of the creature buzzed throughout the cantina. Soon, she had several varying descriptions of the creature, but all the stories pointed to one location: a large sinkhole a few hundred kilometers to the west.
One speeder ride later, Nyx found herself looking down into the deep sinkhole, peering into its depths to try to catch a glimpse of her quarry. After a few minutes, and a gulp from the flask she had brought with her, Nyx took a deep breath and began sliding down the edge of the sinkhole, her small form soon swallowed whole by its dark depths.

Nyx tried her best to see shapes in the darkness as she slid down the side of the sinkhole, every voice of reason in her body screamed at her to climb back out, to return to the surface and forget this insane hunt. But the one voice she actually listened to was the one whispering the words 'a million credits' into her metaphorical ear. So she swallowed her fear and kept sliding, the dust from the rocky sides powdering her clothes.
She reached a ledge, landing with a grunt, and dusted herself off, peering over the edge. She couldn't tell how much farther the sinkhole went, but it was already almost pitch black darkness around her. Now the argument was: did she turn on her light, and risk alerting the Gorog to her presence? She argued with herself for a few moments before sighing.
"Kark it."
Light filled her section of the sinkhole, and the mercenary once more peered over the edge of the ledge; only to find herself staring into a very large eye. That particular large eye belonged to a very large creature, a creature that was rising to its full height, a creature with four large tusks sticking out of its drooling mouth.
That creature, was a Gorog.
The behemoth roared, raising its arms above its head, and smashing them down on the ledge, barely giving Nyx enough time to dive over the side, her hands struggling for purchase on the side of the sinkhole. Suddenly, Nyx's fall was yanked to a stop, and she didn't hesitate to draw her lightsaber and activate its violet blade with a snap-hiss.
Time to see if she could actually survive this encounter, let alone come out with a million credits.

Nyx found that the Gorog was much faster than it looked as she used the Force to bounce around the sinkhole, avoiding its fists that crashed down around her. How the hell was she even supposed to hurt this thing, let alone subdue it?
The mercenary slammed against the wall of the sinkhole with an audible grunt, rocks digging into her skin as she quickly glanced behind her, hoping for a moment to catch her breath. She was disappointed as the Gorog slammed a fist into the wall of the sinkhole, barely missing her, but causing her lightsaber to slip from her hands and tumble down into the darkness of the sinkhole. Poodoo.
Enraged at the loss of her weapon, Nyx drew one of her revolvers, firing without thought at the huge creature. All six shots hit their mark, and all six shots did absolutely nothing but make the damn thing angrier than before. Swearing loudly in as many languages as she knew, Nyx quickly leaped across the chasm, narrowly avoiding the behemoth's fist, which clipped her foot. The hit sent her spiraling into the darkness, her revolver long gone. Her body slammed onto a ledge a few meters below, the breath knocked from her body. Gasping for any breath, she managed to roll aside, the Gorog's and impacting a few centimeters from her body, dust and dirt flying into the air. The woman simply lay on the ground for a moment more, wishing she had never taken this stupid bounty.
But now, she had a Gorog to fight, didn't she?

Finally managing to catch her breath, Nyx managed to inhale enough air to flip onto her feet, her other revolver in hand. If nothing else, it made her feel a hell of a lot better. The Gorog roared at her, covering her in spittle. Nyx was silent for a moment, her eyes staring at the creature. Then she roared back, rage filling every cell of her body. The woman aimed her revolver at the monster's head, pulling the trigger six times. Six bullets sailed through the air, impacting with with sparks on its natural armor. Nyx threw aside her revolver, knowing it was completely useless at this point.
Nyx reached for Moneymaker sheathed on her back, the durasteel blade filling her hand with a familiar weight, the sound of metal scraping on metal filling the air. The mercenary leaped out of the way of the Gorog's fist, slashing at its fist with her blade. She sped herself with the Force, managing to outrun the creature's fists. She was so pissed about losing her lightsaber, self preservation had gone out of the window. The woman turned to slash at another fist, only to get hit.
The sword clattered out of her hand, and Nyx spiraled downwards, deep into the darkness of the sinkhole, screaming profanities at both the Gorog and fate itself.

Thraxis had heard rumors floating around the Cartel that someone had gone after the insane bounty that Raka had put up, it was insane to ask someone to try and catch one of those things, though it seemed someone was crazy enough to go and hunt one down, and Thraxis was feeling a tad bit insane. He looked around the palace, asking the guards as to who had been the one to go and hunt down the mighty Beast. It didn't take long for word to spread around the palace, that bounty had been one people merely eyed at though some saw the person who accepted. It was one of the Enforcers, and he knew only one person was willing to do that sort of job.

It took him a while to follow where Nyx had been, it took a little sleuth work, and a lot of credits to find out where she went and when he found the location his eyes became ecstatic. Thraxis knew most of the people in the Cartel though he never really got a chance to meet the made women herself. He strapped himself up, he knew that he would need everything he had at his disposal for this, both to survive and make a lasting impression on one of the most notorious people this galaxy had ever seen.

As soon as possible he caught one of the Jackal Pilots to take him to Utapau to go and join in on the fun times. It took a few hours for the ship to arrive and even longer for Thraxis to figure out which one of all the sinkhole Nyx had entered. Once they found the whole He peered down into the hole, to see a small figure fighting what was one of the most trepidating things that his eyes had ever gazed upon, and it quickly became apparent why Raka wanted this monumental beast alive. His eyes filled with joy at the monsters sight though his eyes quickly followed the beast movements the darkness didn't help one bit.

He steadied his hand as he pulled out his DEMP taking a few deep breaths before he pulled the trigger, his eyes opening wide as he fired the bolt, though he had little confidence that this would do anything really. Though after a few seconds he realized what he had done, he had set the gun onto its second setting, and as the bolt made impact with the beasts flesh it burst into a splintering ion blast that paralyzed just one of the monsters arms. Though as to how long it would hold its effect was another question.

As she fell down the sinkhole, Nyx considered that she might die here. She was about to die on the promise of a million credits.
She wondered if Kath could hold the Street Rats together without her. That group of ruffians tended to devolve into chaos if someone wasn't constantly watching them to make sure they didn't kill each other, and Kath cared too much about them to discipline 'em right.
Well, she'd have to learn pretty damn quick.
Nyx's morbid thoughts were interrupted by a light entering the sinkhole, ion by the look of it. Nyx had no idea who else was crazy enough to take on this behemoth, but she was certainly glad they interfered when they did.
Emboldened, Nyx turned to face the approaching ground, and screamed as she used the Force to try and slow herself down. She succeeded in making sure she wasn't about to die on impact, but she definitely broke a few ribs when she slammed onto the ground. After giving herself a moment to catch her breath, Nyx looked up at the Gorog, who was furiously trying to swat. . .was that [member="Thraxis"]? Huh. That explained quite a bit, actually.
Gathering herself, Nyx gathered the Force into her hands, and screamed as she unleashed the Force energy at the Gorog, smiling as she managed to push it off balance. But the smile disappeared when the Gorog once again turned its attention to her. And once again, she was bouncing around the sinkhole, trying to buy Thraxis some time to do whatever he had done before, again.

The paralysis didn't seem to last as long as he hoped, though it actually managed to paralyze which was leaps and bounds more then what he expected. He took a sigh of relief, he actually had a way to not kill this thing, though as to paralyzing this thing he had not much else other then a short stun.

As he continued to look he saw the beast turn its attention again, though Thraxis couldn't see anything else down there, the pit was too deep and the sun wasn't doing much in the way of lighting up the hole. Looks like Nyx ain't dead yet. Might still have a chance. he though tot himself as he aimed the gun once more aiming for the head, hoping that she would be able to keep herself out of anymore harms way. After a few more deep breaths he yelled into the cave, his voice resonating as it bounced off the walls of the cave, "I'm gonna go for the head! That should paralyze its entire body. I think I was never too good at biology!" the monster didn't care to change its line of sight to Thraxis, continuing its rage filled swats towards Nyx. Though soon its body froze up, its head shoot at and Ion spreading over its body, though how long the Paralysis would last would give her an opportunity to either get out of there or go for the kill. There wasn't many other options before the thing was back to its rage induced frenzy.
