The kitten was running the calculations.

The man had said the word Invictus and flagship to describe to ship in question. A quick scan of nomenclature in Jane's Fighting Starcruisers identified several space frames matching that description.

Cross-referencing the available data against Sith Empire did nothing to help the droid to narrow the choices to any particular engineering frame. And Lords of the Fringe was not a designation for which the droid could find much information.

Even without a scale for comparison, each of the Invictus nomenclature ships conformed to the triangular dreadnought design that the small holo seemed to propose. As such, the droid assumed the vessel to be in the range of 1,500 meters at a minimum.

"Assuming that navigating a micronebula is probable..." It really wasn't, but he'd leave the statistics for another time. "...then it is logical to assume you have a destination in mind that is within one jump of the relative location," the cub-bot opined.

A vessel of that size would require a crew of several thousand to sustain interstellar flight. To attempt to operate a star destroyer with a crew substantially fewer in number would seem to necessitate a short range flight on a pre-determined trajectory in order to rendezvous with a transport bearing additional flight crew for long-range transit.

But then, he was only a droid. And not really all that knowledgeable about these things.

"Without more information regarding the extent or nature of the modifications, I am unable to calculate the probability of successfully operating a star drive of that complexity or scale."

"Just so I'm getting it right," Jaya went to sit up straight and raised an eyebrow towards Jorus, "our de facto job interview is stealing a flagship with a ragtag team who literally just met each other." The can on lum was raised to her lips and knocked back, letting all that was still in it slide down her throat. With a satisfying thud she slammed the now-empty can down onto the table and heartily chuckled. "You must be insane to think people would agree to it, and the people who do are probably even more karked in the head. That's a suicide mission. You don't have to calculate that, bee bee four zero, whatever you are referred to as." She looked around the group and flashed a toothy grin.

"Count me in. I better get paid a fortune at the end of it, bud." Jaya had never claimed to be the most responsible of people.

"Nah, I'm just screwing with you. I've got a pretty solid relationship with RNS and I don't give a crap about Varanin's old boat. I just wanted to see how you guys would react. Fighter not afraid of odds; pilot goes in with straightforward questions about his job, willing to fly something new; the techs are realistic about obstacles and figuring out what comes next; and all four are down for something crazy to one extent or another. I do believe I can work with you folks.

"The real job is slightly more fun and a bit less risky. I need you to rig a Mos Espa podrace under the Empire's nose. Make sure a Dug named Gerraff doesn't finish the race. How you accomplish that is up to you as a team. Your payday will be low four figures depending on, ah, theatricality. Still interested?"

Jaya chuckled once again but this time out of pure amusement, snapping a finger before pointing it at Jorus for a second. "Not gonna lie, for a moment I was convinced you were actually trying to get us to do it. It's almost unfortunate, though. Stealing a flagship is on my bucket list." In reality she didn't keep a bucket list at all, but it was more out of an unwillingness to keep any kind of list. She still wanted to do it someday, but perhaps it was for the better that she never got the idea again. "In any case, if you can work with me, I can work with you. What's the real plan, friend?"

The woman nodded along with the explanation of the real job opportunity, cracking a sly grin as she listened. "Okay, that sounds like fun too. I'd suggest screwing with his podracer, would make for some nice theatrics. When's the race?"

Nodding as he processed all that was said, there was a slight grin that crept to his face. The absurdity of the original task struck a note of humor in him that caused the grin, and then a booming laugh, tilting his head back. Most might find it odd, or a little off-putting, but life was meant to be lived and embraced and enjoyed in most manners it was examined in. Settling, he looked at Jorus as the real idea came out, and nodded.

"This can be done. I can cause a tussle to draw away eyes from the podracer that she fidgets with. Even if I am arrested, not many cells can hold me for long..."
