Two weapon blasts cut through the treeline, not far away. "Recalibrate the sensors." Aeshi said, pulling the throttle all the way back and bringing the ship to a hover. "Focus on fast-moving, humanoid and above sized life forms."
Her co-pilot nodded, his plumage raised. A signal of excitement, of danger. Aeshi knew the feeling. Blood raced through her ears and her eyes tried to pierce the treeline.
She could see nothing else down there, but the sensors picked up two abnormalities, racing toward the nearest center. One was human, for the most part. The other was reptilian. That brought a frown to her face. Was this connected to the cultists on the Rimma? Did this kid have some sort of information on the cult?
That made it even more crucial to try and get her out safely. She didn't know what happened to the fighter that had been pursuing the raider, but it was somewhere nearby.
"Open the boarding ramp," Aeshi said standing up and loosing the .48s in their holsters. "I'll see if I can keep the lizardman busy."
She slid down the ladder to the main cargo bay as wind rushed in from the cargo ramp. She swayed under the buffeting of the wind before grabbing a safety line along the inside, hooking a harness to her belt as she edged onto the ramp and stared through the foilage.
Aeshi double-checked the readout on her sensor display and aimed generally down in the direction of the reptilian, firing off two thunderous rounds, one from each .48.
