Pride of Old Mandalore
He was pleased that Ms. Alcori allowed them to confer - it would have been a bold move had she or her cohort denied the request. Nonetheless, the Republic senators were now discussing privately.
With an informal approach, he let his peers know of his thoughts. "I like Firemane and what they're offering. I don't like though, the numbers being thrown about." He thought of what had been discussed so far. A 30% discount on bulk purchases, the acquisition of production rights, and salary of quality control personnel and consultants plus 10%. He liked where it was going, but there was something that irked him - Senator Flavian's notion to pay for quality control. Rather than chide anyone for what had been deliberated openly without consensus, he began to quickly jot down notes. As he did, he thought out loud for his fellow senators to hear.
"The 30% discount is fair, I have no problems with that. If we're going the production rights route though, we'll be manufacturing our own - including the cost of materials and assembly." After a short pause, he seemed to have his thoughts together.
"I'd like to offer 20,000,000 credits for the production rights of all the weapons mentioned in this negotiation, but the most I'm comfortable paying is double that. A 10% royalty is reasonable. What I'm not willing to do is pay for quality control or consulting. That's good customer service and that should come without saying." Once more collecting his thoughts, he continued. "I'd also like to include a contingency that we can buy ourselves out of the contract for an additional 5,000,000 credits should the products not live up to what was promised. I don't think it'll come to that, but it's a good safety net. What do we have left, contract duration?" Realizing he was dominating the conversation, he yielded to see his peers' opinions as far as his thoughts went and where they stood on the contract. "What do you two think? Of everything?", Gael asked with a genuine curiosity.
