The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), known colloquially as the Republic Defense Force, is the standing military force of the Wild Space Republic, a political entity that governs a vast and diverse expanse of space beyond the boundaries of the well-charted galaxy. This elite military institution is designed to defend the Republic's borders, maintain order within its many systems, and protect its citizens from external threats such as pirates, slavers, and warlords.

Formed from a diverse collection of planets, star systems, and species, the GAR is known for its discipline, technological prowess, and tactical flexibility. It has a reputation for being able to adapt to various combat environments, from the dense jungles of Kubindi to the barren landscapes of Malagarr and Xorrn.

The Grand Army is divided into specialized branches for various theaters of combat, each led by seasoned commanders who have earned their rank through years of service and battle experience.
