Public Gravity and Grek Anomalies (explorers and researchers)

Was he really the one holding it together? Kaia Starchaser was on the main deck of the Sojourner-class vessel known as the Discovery. She and the team had been dispatched recently due to some anomalies in their data. That was when she saw it. The Rishi Maze was here? Firefist? Grek?

Stepping quickly. She knew she had to get to her shuttle. The Wandering Star was her personal vessel for these type of trips. But the need for the Star maps to be edited was important. Jorus was gone.

Her father was now missing. Presumably on some final mission for his long time friend.

And her brother wasn't picking up her calls.

She didn't want to leave the safety of her backroads in the Sanctum. But she wasn't going to let someone else get out here and map. Her ships were launching.

With Grek near the Tingel Arm, she had taken her ships from Tion and Laekia and made her way. Gravity anomalies were great. And she was going to track them.

Her Mon Calamari crew member looked up. “Seeker shuttles are launching. We are deploying Star Hunt probes now.” Kaia nodded to the young aquatic.

“Put it on the main screen. Make sure my ship is ready. And let’s get scanning!” She took her seat

One of the ships in the wake of the Starchaser team was a Seeker-class Exploration Shuttle purchased not long ago by reliable subcontractor Baobab Astrography. One of the Baobab staff aboard said shuttle was a new hire with a weird spin on instinctive astrogation: a young feller by the name of Merion Oreno who just happened to wear the mask and robes of the Cult of the Central Isopter. (In simplest terms, their drive to witness scenes of doom and destruction came with certain navigational abilities attached, which turned out to give Merion an edge for finding things like old graveyards and dying stars.)

All this was how Merion turned his presence over in his head, the justification of its incongruity, or rather how he'd rationalize it if challenged by, uh, someone. There were an awful lot of people who'd challenge it.

Right now he did his job, which was going over nav data while running through Central Isopter rituals. See, he could also twig to when a jump was about to result in doom and destruction, which made him a fantastic...redundant safety mechanism.

So much for a noble prince of the royal house of Eshan. But honestly this job was the best his life had ever been.

"Intriguing." The data was coming across the streams from the monitoring stations they had set up. The driders eyes that the ba'lands used to monitor and record information, feeding them more information as the event itself had been unforeseen.. The shifts something more amazing and horrible... and it only added to the intrigue the jedi master was seeing as she sat there in the observation chamber. The clear dome above her as it revealed trillions of locations, but she was focusing on one area as they recorded all the information they could for the archives. The passing of Jorus had been strangely heartbreaking as he was one of the few she could present a new discovery out in the galaxies and he would search it.... now she had one less person and there was this sith blackwall... A challenge she was happy to tackle.

This was going to change all of the maps. By the Force, even the Merrill-Blake map, AND the new Starchaser NaviComp that they just released. This was at one point a huge nightmare for Kaia, but at the same time? A whole new challenge. Maybe her story could finally begin. After all, she had just really been doing resource location as a side hustle while holding her father’s company together.

And with this challenge? Rishi on one side, that her brother was heading to, Grek on this, Firefist in the Starchaser-Merrill old stomping grounds of that area near the Western Reaches.

She was going to handle this one first, then move on to that anomaly. Let her brother deal with the Maze, she had no real desire to go anywhere near that area yet. What she really wanted to do was make sure the Levant worlds were safe, and that started with Laekia, and moved on from there. The other ships? They were all paid to be checking for whatever they were looking for, but using an onboard network from Starchaser Enterprises to log as many hyperspace paths and gravity anomalies as they could.

Sure, maybe a Central Isopter was here, but if there was some cataclysm, that boy could be a bloodhound for it. How was the Merrill Seeker Shuttle in the hands of one of that ilk, she didn’t know.

Nor did she care.

“Alright teams, this is Discovery, deploying probes. Seeker teams, you’re welcome to use the paths and routes we’ve given you, try to find the worlds, but if you feel a twinge to go a different route, go that way too.

“We’ll be here when you’re ready to report back.”

She had the probes deploying and her Mon Calamari navigator was more than happy to start logging data. As the probes did their micro jumps, Kaia fell into a meditative trance, reaching out for the gravity anomalies. Being a Starchaser that was born starside, it gave her a little in-born perk here. Her family was wild in the Force, sometimes strong like her father, or sometimes weird, like her.

Even getting here had been a challenge, destabilized and compromised as all maps were. Every navigator in the universe was getting a crash rehash of the fundamentals.

The Starchaser probes and Sasori monitor stations he'd encountered were not the fundamentals. Hell, this excellent shuttle wasn't either. Merion had the persistent sense of being out of his depth.

The Baobab pilot droid signalled for Merion to check the numbers on a planned course, or rather a series of courses that spiked out from the expedition's trajectory like thistles. Merion flagged several as instinctively bad and several as feeling good. They picked one of the latter together and hopped away past lightspeed.
