Description: Grapple droids were once extraordinarily plentiful in the arsenals of such powers as the Confederacy of Independent Systems. B1s, B2s, and even some of the mighty Droidekas were turned into close-range, heavily armored combatants designed to cleave through any hostiles in their way. The GRD-98 Grapple Droid is no exception - With a heavily armored bronzium frame and duraplast-covered exterior components, the GRD-98 is a significantly tough nut for the average infantryman to crack. Turadium-tipped grapple prongs will deal exceptionally well with any armor that gets in its way, though heavier armor is much more difficult to crack.
Of note about the GRD-98 is its rear-mounted ion thrusters. These can be utilized as a sort of jump-pack, similar to that of the Phase Zero Dark Trooper, or as a means to increase the droid's speed, letting it run into enemies and impale them on its prongs. However, this area is not as heavily armored as the rest of the droid, and an attack from behind will most likely disable the thrusters, severely hampering the droid's maneuverability and causing it be easy prey for a more mobile scout or sniper. As well, a singular optic is equally vulnerable to a heavy enough weapon's shot from the front, though most blaster pistols and rifles are not heavy enough to damage it significantly.
