Green Thumbs Aplenty [SJO]

"I'm sorry to here that," she said as Nia revealed that her master had been slain. She wouldn't pry for details, but she could only imagine that it was simply enough being a Jedi as a reason for assassination.

"I think your master would be glad to hear that you're now in safe hands, though I wish there had been someone to tell you that you could have contacted the Silver Order to have you picked up from your planet. It's something we do all the time."

Nia was a better one than Arisa, who probably would have handwaved her way off the planet long ago if their positions had been reversed. Her own awakening in the Force hadn't come under the best of circumstances.

"So then, regardless if you're here to continue Jedi path, or even here to just seek refuge, then please feel free to stay with us. I think it's about time I formally introduce myself. I am Arisa
Yune, Grandmaster of the Silver Order. Anything you need, just let me know."

Nia stood there for a moment, she was talking to the Grandmaster of the Silver Order and she didn't even know.

Then something rather unexpected happened, rather than acting formal or nervous the girl began to giggle then she let out an adorable laugh.

"Hehe I'm sorry." She tries to calm down but her smile wouldn't fade. "It's just your not what I expected."

It was only by chance that Raven would stumble upon the community gardens at this time. Ever since Arisa had left her to her own devices, the young girl tried her best not to stay cooped up in her room and instread try to get out and explore. Though despite this; she tried her best not to speak to anybody if she could help it. Maybe, perhaps giving people a fairly timid wave in response to their welcome.

But now, she came upon these fields that we're already packed with a fair amount of people. She couldn't bother with hiding, as her black robes would have proved to work against her in all of the green. All she did was stand at a distance, and watch the many people around tend to the fields and the many plants within it.

Arisa couldn't lie and say she didn't feel mildly offended by Nia's reaction to her revelation, but she took the girl's comments in stride, smiling back. After all, she hadn't even wanted the position, still a relatively new master, but she had been the best choice at the time. Just about every day in private, she worried that everything would come crashing down around her like the Republic.

"Don't worry, I'm sure the gray hairs will be coming in soon enough," she quipped. "So then, would you like to help me with the pond? I'm installing filters right now. I'll probably need help adding the Koi fish when done. "

As she asked, she would feel a familiar presence nearby. She turned to see Raven standing off in the distance by herself looking quite awkward. A nice girl, but quite reserved.

"Hey, you, come over here," she said to Raven while waving her arm. With the Force, she would project her voice so that she could be clearly heard by Raven without having to shout, just as if she was standing right in front of her offering the invitation.

Nia smiled and bowed to Arisa "I would be honoured to assist you Grandmaster Yune." The girl looked at the pond, she was so excited since she had never performed such a task, but was willing to learn. "Master is it ok, If I call you Arisa instead?"

Raven was relatively caught off guard by the closeness of her voice. She knew that throwing ones voice was possible, but not particularly at the distance in which she was standing. It took her a moment to process the fact before she simply shrugged it off and made her way towards the group. Primarily, Arisa; the only one she felt really comfortable around. She never bothered actually going around the temple and meeting people, mainly because her previous way of living made it rather hard for her to socialize. And even though nobody here knew who she was and what she did, she still couldn't help but feel rather backed into her own corner, primarily due to recognition and furthermore, possible recompense. This was more so second nature to her than anything else.

Once she was standing beside Arisa, making sure not to make eye contact with the Padawan beside her, she remained silent, just watching and seeing, now in close detail, what they were doing.

"No," she replied, smiling fading. "You may only refer to me as the Grandest of Grandmasters."

Of course, she was joking, so even if Nia may miss out on the emotional cues, the title itself was ridiculous enough to warrant questioning.

Raven made her way over to her and Nia, still looking quite awkward about everything. The girl could be quite sociable with Arisa, but outside of their personal interactions, she was usually
mum like now. It would be up to the Grandmaster to push Raven out of her comfort zone to get her engaged with her fellow Jedi.

"Hey there, Raven," Arisa said, smiling again as she addressed the initiate. "I'd like to introduce you to someone. This is Nia." She would look over to Nia, holding out a hand to point. "She's also new to the Silver Order, though she received some Jedi training prior to her arrival. We're both working on fixing up this Koi pond now. Think you can lend a hand? I can show you what to do."

"And yes, Nia, you may call me Arisa," she told her with a nod. "Just as long as you show me and your peers respect, that's all I ask."

Nia looked over to the other padawan and greeted her, "It's nice to meet you." she gave Raven a warm smile.

The girl bowed once again. "Yes master, I'll do my best." Nia felt safe around Arisa, with her guidance she should be fine. "I have so much to learn, so helping Grandmaster Arisa will be my first step."

She pulled down her hood and removed her cloak since the weather was warm for her. Her long robes almost made her look like a Librarian.

Talis slowly saddled himself on his speeder, and looked in the distance, He had already been briefed on the current job's he could do, He still pondered the thought, what job was he going to do? He was a bit dumbfounded, What was he good at to start with? Talis was a Tech Savy kind of person, He loved to experiment and design his own tech, If he had the necessary parts. He planned on working the Koi Pond, It seemed like a fun job to do, Anything else would be a tad bit confusing for him, He slowly revved his speeder, the loud humming echoing through the air.

The sound of a speeder took off, it vibrating from under Talis, He was making his way to the Koi Pond fast. He declined speed's, He was going at a walking speed with his speeder, His hand's slowly turned the Speeder's handle's parking near another Speeder. His hand lingered over the speeder button, He pressed it, shutting off the loud speeder. He grabbed his toolkit off of the Speeder's side and slowly lumbered over to the Koi Pond.

The sound of gravel from under Talis's boot's would be heard as he approached, He couldn't help it, He was kind of a loud walker. He slowly approached the area he was suppose to work out, Nervousness gripped at Talis's mind, He was..bad at introduction's, He tried to speak up, Finally on his third attempt he said something, "Is-It okay if I work here with you three?" Talis said asking noticing how he stuttered in the first part, He internally cringed and waiting for there response.

He followed her orders, grabbing a large pot he lifted it up with as much strength as his body could muster. Dropping it gently out of the way, he then carefully transplanted the first plant. He could feel the earth going under his nails, it didn't bother him but it was a completely new sensation. Yuroic watched as Valae touched a plant and looked at it carefully. His curiosity of the woman grew, he had never seen her in combat before so he was curious to her role.

If you don't mind me asking. So you like gardening, do you have a specific field in the Force? He asked as he moved onto the next pots and planted the next few plants as he listened to her answer.

Covered in dirt and sweat Dagos smiled at the group of plants he had just put in the ground. It wasn't a large assortment by any strech, a few flowers(Purple passion, rojo, and blueblossoms) and some veggies (Firebud, Bellassan peppers, and Ojomian onions.) but all the same he felt a measure of pride at his achey muscles, it was a wonder what an hours work could do for ones state of mind.

There was a lot of activity in the garden today but Dagos had kept mostly too himself while he worked. It's not like he isn't social but the work had done such a good job of helping him focus that he had sort of just stayed involved at the task in hand but now that his work was for the most part done, he figured he could use this time to meet some of his fellow silver Jedi.

Everyone seemed pretty well paired off but Dagos noticed a new comer arrive and ask a group of the others if it would be alright for him to work with them. Dagos jogged over to the Koi pond where the four of them were gathered, making himself clearly visable as he come over so that he wouldn't startle anyone or seem like was trying eaves drop.

"Hey there!" he said to the group. "I'm Dagos." He said holding his hand out to the Zabrak.

She spotted Dagos and Talis first. They didn't know her well, neither did most of the Jedi here. Perhaps the one that knew her most so far was [member="Arisa Yune"] and [member="Valae Kitra"] whom had been present when she had wandered in from the fringes of Silver space, taking her small treasure trove of knowledge with her.

As they approached she smiled, giving them each a wave and knelt down to continue feeding the fish in the pond. They'd just been released, and now she was meditating on the waters, feeling out their disposition. so far they were anxious, a little unnerved about going from their breeding tanks to wide open waters.

"You guys wanna help me calm these fish? I think they are very..... perplexed. Even fearful."

He heard someone talk from behind him he turned a smile perched upon Talis's face as always. It was [member="Dagos Terrek"] "I'm Dagos" The man said, Talis smiled, Shaking the Man's hand with a firm grip. "Nice to meet you, I'm Talis Palecrest" Talis said with a smile turning around once again being addressed.

You guys wanna help me calm these fish? I think they are very..... perplexed. Even fearful." [member="Karren Trask"] said.

"Sure" Talis said going into a meditating position near Karren, After about 3 Minutes of it, He felt intuned, He felt the fish's fear and them being Perplexed. He understood there emotions. "I know how they feel too" Talis said with a friendly tone to it.

When it raines... it pours.
Samara loved to be outdoors and was glad to be done with her tasks inside at the Healing Center within the temple. The young Padawan had quickly changed out of her Jedi robes into shorts and a tee, then slipped on an old pair of sneakers. She pulled her honey blonde hair up into a high ponytail to keep it out of her face while helping in the garden. The older teen was looking forward to getting her hands dirty so to speak as learning proper sterile technique while doing medical procedures had left them rather well clean. Samara swore she smelled like the antiseptic they used.

Ever since her time spent on Monastery with the Order of the Sacred Lotus, Sam's path had become clearer to her. She felt the Force nudging her towards the medical arts and becoming a Jedi healer. After parting ways with Jedi Master [member="Kahne Porte"], who had been mentoring her as of late though was not a healer himself, the padawan learner journeyed to Voss with his hopeful blessing to join the Silver Circle.

Walking with a carefree bounce in her step, Samara made her way from the Voss Jedi Temple across the fields with her ponytail wagging side to side behind her golden head to where [member="Valae Kitra"] was talking with another padawan, [member="Yuroic Xeraic"], and two of the Antarian Rangers, [member="Valkren Calderon"] and [member="Marl"]. Stopping before the small group, she waited until there was a pause in the conversation before speaking.

"Excuse me," Sam nodded respectfully to those there, then sea green eyes focused upon the female brunette.

"I have finished my duties inside, Healer Kitra. How may I be of help here?" she inquired with a small enthusiastic smile.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Talis Palecrest" said the zabrak offering an introduction.

"Cool man, good to meet you." Dagos responded before one of the other Jedi asked for their help in calming the fish that had just been introduced to the new koi pond that had been installed in gardens.

"Love to." Dagos said and he knelt down getting in a position more conducive to meditiation.
Dagos had some experience with the more mental aspects of the force having done meditiation training with both Master Ru and his new master Jairdain, not to mention the mental manipulation lesson he had gotten from [member="Connor Harrison"], so using the force to feel out the fish came easily.
He reached out with the force and focused on the surface of the water slowly moving deeper until he found the essence of the fish. There was fear there to be sure but it leaned more toward uncertainty than terror. Compared to breaking into the mind of a Jedi Master(albeit with permission) moving his way into the mind of the fish was maybe the easiest thing he'd done as a Jedi so far. Dagos tried to send mental waves of comfort to the fish, hoping the combined effort of the three of them would be enough to help sooth their new scaled friends.

Valae watched as Yuroic went to work, getting his hands into the soil straight away. His enthusiasm made her smile, as did the gentle way he handled the Nysillin plants. Kneeling down, she began to loosen some of the plants from their shipping containers, and would hold each one out to Yuroic as it was ready. She glanced up from her work as the padawan addressed her.

“I suppose I do like gardening,” She nodded, “Grew up on Tatooine, there’s not much we can grow in the desert. Well, there are some hardy plants and woody trees that brave the sand, but nothin’ like this.”

The Jedi healer chuckled softly, recalling the way her home world contrasted so strongly with the lush nature landscapes of Voss. And then, she paused to answer his question. She sat down cross-legged on the floor of the greenhouse.

“I’m not much of a fighter by any means, so I’ve chosen to specialize in force healing. I do like to keep well practiced in force protection skills, too. And what about you, have you found a particular skill to hone?”

Valae looked over her shoulder as Samara entered the greenhouse. The smile on her face grew at the sight of the young woman with light hair. The two had met during their brief stay on Monastery with the OSL, and Valae had been very pleased when Samara had later sought out the Silver Circle on Voss. It was nice to see that she had taken an interest in healing. And so, Samara was not only a new friend to Valae… but also her new apprentice.

“Excellent work,” She said and motioned for Samara to join them. “This is Yuroic, feel free to join us here. We’re transplanting this Nysillin – it might be of interest to you, Samara.” Valae picked up one of the small plants and examined it. “See, the Felucians use this to make a powerful salve that can be applied topically.”

The area around the Koi pond was becoming quite busy as more people gathered to help out with the installation of the filters and the transfer of the fish from the tanks into the pool. She welcomed the additional help, though her stomach would sink a bit as she saw Dagos. She had nothing against the Padawan, who seemed to be shaping up into a fine Jedi, but his appearance reminded her of the loss of Jairdain to the Sith. While she had immediately deployed investigators to scour the scene of Charros IV for leads, she still felt guilty after a promise made to protect the girl.

For the sake of everyone around, she stifled down the unsettling thoughts, the Jedi Master adept at hiding her inner thoughts and feelings when she wanted.

"Dagos, Karren, and...Talis, welcome," she greeted, just recalling the name of the order's newest Knight. "I have Raven and Nia here helping me with the installation of the osmotic generators - the filters for the pond. For those not directly tending directly to the fish, I could use some help setting these up. I'll show you how to install a unit ."

She would pick up her hydrospanner and the small generator she had been working with before speaking with Nia and Raven, then kneel down next to the edge of the pond. The edges were lines with flat stones, but she would flip up one to reveal a crevice. She'd slot the generator in, then secure it in place using bolts from her pocket, screwed in by the hydrospanner. That was pretty much all there was to it. Each generator was wirelessly charged by an external system, so there was no need to worry about any complicated electrical wiring around the water sources.

More generators were set on the speeder, along with additional tools and other supplies for others present who decided to help her. There were 7 more such generators that needed to be installed under the rocky edges.

Force healing? Yuroic had only a brief encounter with the ability to heal others wounds. The scar on his hand from a bite mark was a reminder of that. Occasionally he would get pangs of pain where his body hadn't healed quite right, the wound was a complete hole so tendons didn't seem to heal perfectly. Not the fault of the healer, he had looked deeper into healing methods and found out that the extensive damage he suffered could be difficult for beginners.

Could you teach me some day? It would be most useful for me to learn it, always thought that being able to heal the wounds of others and myself was sort of important as a Jedi. Not just physical though, mental wounds can be just as dangerous. It was a sobering thought that shifted Yuroic's mind into areas he rather not tread into. So he shook his head and continued with moving the pots and plants.

Nodding briefly to the new person and he shifted around them and continued to work. A thick bead of sweat was falling down his forehead as he moved. He could feel the heat of the room getting to him. Mind if I grab a cold drink?

When it raines... it pours.
Samara beamed at the praise from [member="Valae Kitra"], but did not let it go to her youthful head. There was much to learn and do ahead. The teenage padawan was just starting out on her path to becoming a Jedi Healer. She had briefly met the brunette Knight on Monastery while they both were staying with the Order of the Sacred Locus and the two had quickly developed a rapport. The Force had seemingly pushed them together for a reason so Sam would be hopeful of a positive outcome for both.

"Thank you, Master," Sam replied with a small, humble smile, then sea green eyes flicked over to [member="Yuroic Xeraic"].

"Hello, Yuroic... I'm Samara Raine," the honey blonde nodded friendly like, then she listened attentively as Valae spoke of the plant they were transplanting.

"Oh yes... I read about Nysllin. It is supposedly one of the most valuable crops in the galaxy. The healing herb properties delivered in a topical form help to fight the bacteria on the skin and aid in wound healing to a degree, though in deep, open wounds it is contra-indicated - I think," she rambled off, not trying to be a know-it-all just sharing what the avid reader had learned during one of her late night sessions in the Jedi Library studying.

Samara picked up one of the 'sillum and planted it next to the others, then repeated with another. She had noticed Yuroic was sweating. It was getting warmer by the minute especially in the greenhouse. It would be important for everyone to stay well hydrated so as not to get heat stroke.

Colonel Calderon only nodded after Valae's statement about the nutrients being in a close by greenhouse. He'd unfold his sweat covered, ink-filled arms, shoving his hands into the pockets of his overalls before heading toward said greenhouse. Work like this..Hard, honest work..It was about the only thing nowadays besides the demon at the bottom of the bottle that took his mind away from combat.

He requested the help of another worker once he reached the greenhouse to retrieve several crates of new soil to tend to the now-tilled field that Valk' had been set in charge of. They made their way into the field, the worker soon leaving Valkren alone to do his work.

The young officer removed his cap, casting away the sweat from his brow as he stood in the empty field. A smile began to tug at the colonel's lips, beginning his tedious task of placing new soil about. The sun beat down on the back of his neck as he went over the land that him and a crew of workers tilled just hours before.

Work like this, it reminded him even more of his home on Alderaan. He missed the farm.

However, this was the closest thing he had to 'home,' at this time, so he made due.

"Might want to take that dip in the waters sooner.." He'd mumble to himself, sweat dripping into his eyes and constricting his view of his work.
